Track = Swiss Alps II
You must use the same car you used in Round 1 + 2 + 3 👍
Use the ARCADE VERSION of that car for this Round.

Sector discussion is fine! ... just dont discuss total times! :)

I extended the deadline by an extra week to make up for the days I held you guys up, so we actually have 10+days on this event .... Good luck to all 👍

Enjoy the final round as I'm sure you will ;)

Ah, hotlap. Nice choice, Ron. 👍 And 10 whole days. Time for a full 500 lapper.

Well, since I've already started hotlapping here, I might as well post the best till now:

18.597
44.365
1'03.251

0.2 off still seems very possible, but with 500 extra laps, I sure hope for a little more than that too. :D

It's me dakotaboy... I changed my login

Anyway, I sure do wish I had the time you guys seem to have to race. 500 laps???? heheh... My time schedule leaves me just enough to maybe turn 20 a week... and it shows.

Ah well... Swiss Alps here I come.

Nice opening sector times Niels. 👍
I'm going to wait a bit to post mine. No need to get Mr P going with bulletin board material. Or LDM for that matter.

500 may be a slight exaggeration, Dak. I have never counted them, but I'll estimate, that I rarely drive under 100. A first session at maybe 30-40 laps and then some smaller sessions at approx 10-20. Doesn't take many sessions to reach 100 then.

On rare occasions where I really love the combo, I'll go higher. This is going to be one of them. Pure craziness as the last 200 maybe just give a couple of tenth. Or sometimes nothing. But when I return to the track next time, those extra 200 laps usually pays off. :D

I'm not very talented and just have to work harder. And I guess, that even the talented racers like Hugo, Ron, LDM and GT3mich have had their fair shares of laps in the GT series. :dopey:

I've been running this in practice for two weeks now. I did run a new PB just after lunch so I'm pleased right now.

time for me to get my arsed flogged again woot. I will see how i go. Swiss alps II I like that track.

EDIT!!

It's all about practice, Dak. And 20 laps a week is very little! In 20 laps in a row I can manage a decent time, but when I drive four sessions of 5 laps, I can only come up with a time 0.7-1.0 seconds slower than I could when I spend more time on it. When the combo is a multilapper or includes settings, I'm even more off :) . That counts for the other fasties Ron, GT3Mich and LDM too!

I really need to drive for at least 20 minutes to get in a rush so I can consistantly drive the laps I'm capable of. Then I go on until I drive a lap without any significant mistakes or until I lose my concentration :grumpy:

Last race I could rely on my experience and talent and came up with a winning time within a few attempts, but for my winning Boards Challenge race I drove almost 2000 km's...

If you had more time to race, I'm sure you would finish at a much smaller distance from the top times and you would become a lot faster in a short time. I don't have much time to spend too the coming half year, but I already drove a countless number of laps in GT3

Thanks for the encouragement gentlemen. It's cool to see what can be done with this game given time and talent and I'm thankful I can play as much as I do. I'm not trying to whine about a lack of time on my part, and my apologies to you all if my comments came across as such. (I can hardly read posts of people whining about a game and if my posting sounded that way I think I need a bit of focusing on what's important).

In the meantime it's off to Swiss Alps II!

Bonus this round, as I like the track and had run qualifiers on it for BC4. I stunk, but I ran laps... hehehe. Going to try and keep within a couple of ticks of the Focus.

Slip slidin away....

Dak

Don't worry Dak, it didn't come over as you were whining about not having the time :sly: . Some people are just more lucky than others because they can spend more time on their addiction/hobby :dopey:

I ran 12 laps yesterday (and that's a long session for me), with a best clean at 1'05.2. More improvements expected if I don't play at San Andreas to much this week-end.

Amazing amazing..

I have this entire evening... almost.. well 3 hours at least to run laps.

So far:

0'19.934 (ran 19.4xx dirty)
0'46.644
1'05.956
I think I can get another second out of this Escort, but it's going to take someone pushing it.

I borrowed a wheel (not a DF pro) and am running a few tests. It's way easier to countersteer through the first hairpin. In fact it taught me I am way too heavy on the inputs with the DS2. Even us old dudes can learn something new. (The times above are with the DS2).

I'll edit in the final times tonight.

(NEW TIMES -w/wheel)
0'19.624
0'46.301
1'05.739

Later,
Dak

Actually one of my best laps says :
0'19.47x
0'46.1xx (or was it 45.88x ?)
1'05.29x

The key is to keep your speed in all turns, but that means more luck than dexterity as far as I'm concerned.
When I take a turn properly once, I'm never capable of taking it properly the next lap. :grumpy:

flat-out

Thats interesting. Why. After I've figured out the track, I look for the little places that rob me of speed. The turns aren't the problem. Its too much braking if you ask me.

Me too, I usually find that I lose most of my speed somewhere between visual recognition, brain processing, and thumb reaction.;)

Yeah, luckily for me I am so slow I do not need to brake often, but when I do it is usually too much, maybe my mechanic should take them off. ;)

Oh, speaking of laps run, I keep thinking I shall run lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots and lots.............................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! It happens every time! :irked:

I've seen the light. I changed the brightness on my tv and I could finally see where I was going :D

So far:
18.713
44.161
1'03.079

In theory there's another 2 tenths, but I'm happy if I can shave another tenth off :)

Another 100 laps and 0.250 off at the line :) :

18.678
44.221
1'03.166

My T1 have been constantly slower during the last 4 saves. :(

From various splits I gather, there should be another 5 tenths, but I'll be overly joyful, if I can shave another 2 tenths off. :D

After another 12 laps session, best clean T3 at 1'04.389 and I'd been 0.5 faster on T1 only.
I'll give it another try later in the week-end, aiming at a sub 1'04 T3.
That's anyway much more funny than the overpowered NSX @ Rome.

Hugo can you show me that light?

ive yet to run this after my first post but damn you guys are hauling arse

Best save in Focus so far has T3 of 1.02.9 ... seen 1.02.8's
so a little bit left to get 👍

Good luck all :)

What are your other splits, Ron? WIth my best splits I could drive a low 1'02.8. Can you see even more? You already got me, unless you totally messed up the last sector :sly:

I've seen 18.4's / 43.9's and 1.02.8's in the focus but best save has 18.5 and 44.1 , 1.02.9 ..

I gotta Keeponrollin for my best laps and updates ;)

20 more laps :
18.886
45.019
1'04.300

I lost a lot between T2 and T3, there should be a whole second to save on my T3 but I only have tonight left...

No improvement :(
I'll submit the lap mentioned above, as soon as I can find the lap time (I noted it somewhere but I'm away from home and I'm not sure I have the paper with me).

Last time submitted. :(

Thanks for a great series, Ron.

And thanks for the pleasant company to my fellow racers.

Time submitted,

Thanks to Ron for another great race series.:)

Thanks to all the participants for all the great racing.:)

Good Luck!:)

Ok guys ... Sorry I never got the results up last night but I was really busy.
