Went to our local (small) zoo today:

All photos are taken with a Canon EOS 5D Mark II.

For all fish tank photos:
ISO 1600, f2.8, manual focus, 100mm macro lens, no pol filter

For all lizard photos:
ISO 400, f2.8, auto focus, 100 macro lens, no pol filter (terrarium)

All birds except the flamingos live in huge bird cages. You can't see the narrow fencing, because I manually focussed on the bird. The fencing is between the camera and the bird, but outside the hyperfocal distance.

The flamingos are red, because of feed additives.

The domestic cat in water bird enclosure was not supposed to be there. It didn't attack any of the smaller ducks. Would have been a cool video (the 5D Mark II is 1080p capable). :sly:

Full resolution Meerkat (5616x3744):

Camera/DigitalPhotoProfessioal sharpness level: 3 (out of 10). No additional sharpening! 5D > any APS-C camera.

If you have no flickr account, I can upload the images at imageshack.

Some great shots. The MKII really is a brilliant camera. Just be careful of your focus points. The shot below as an example, the body is sharp but the head of the lizard is blurred. Try and make sure your focus point is on the eyes.
