Russian Invasion of Ukraine

And how does one contradict another?
Key word: solace.

You continuously come in here & for whatever reason, don't just attempt to correct others, but take glee in it ("LOL, we're not out missiles like some said"). In addition, you seem to make every attempt to downplay Ukrainian attacks on Russian troops whilst in the same breath, accuse the Ukrainians of self-sabotage to the point that they just kill their own towns, & use Russian-biased outlets to do so and then dip when someone like Unit-One immediately corrects it. Even when pointed out that your govt. is hiding Facebook & Twitter as evidence they don't want information getting out, you go, "Well, I have a VPN" showcasing your complete lack of awareness. Not that it seems to matter, b/c you use your VPN to access Facebook so you can keep following more Russain-biased accounts that will claim, "No, Ukraine killed all those civilians. They are Nazis! We already left, we are ze good guys".

You may not support this war, but you make it clear that you're ready to excuse Russia at every turn for war crimes whilst coming & going into this thread to parade Russia isn't losing, hehe haha.
You people are so simple-minded about this. If I think the full-scale attack on Ukraine was a bad idea, why do I have to wish defeat to my country?
As opposed to, "I don't support this war, but I want us to win it".....

The fact you're approaching this like some grey-area is just more evidence to pile on. Wishing defeat through wanting your country to call a truce or deciding "Ok, we're done" isn't something to be ashamed of. It's not like as soon as Russia pulls back, the rest of the world is going to march across Ukraine and start bombing Moscow. At least in this situation, wanting your country to end it literally means ending nation-wide tension & a way to begin lifting sanctions. But, you likely have some sort of weird, patriotic ego that thinks defeat makes Russia look weak.

I was honest about the information I had at the moment, as you can see above. How could I know for sure what was and what was not going to happen? Putin didn't phone me about whether he will or won't invade Ukraine before I posted that.
Yet you still said it. You seem fairly happy when mistakes are made in reporting the war when it makes your murderous, rapist army look better. Maybe you should cut those reports that don't the slack you afford yourself.

I've been out of the loop for a bit but are the Russian Army actually committing rape?

I didn't look too heavily into it, but there were reports of female victims being treated that showed signs of being raped. I think this was right around when Russia left Bucha.

You keep coming back to your notion that the war was a “bad idea”, but it seems to be based entirely on the tactical situation. Is it correct that you would have thought it was a good idea if Russia had a decent chance of winning the war?

Rage Racer

The Russian war[crime] should never have happened and had no basis to actually happen,Ukraine was no threat.Your comments about picking sides and you have picked yours etc. sounds childish,it’s not an episode of game of thrones,it’s REAL life and many people who have done nothing wrong are dieing because of one governments policy and a nation who seem ignorant to the century we live in.

Could be anywhere anytime.
But for the other side, the 2 May 2014 was the point of no return.
maybe annexation of Crimea was point of no return? There is big reason why this massacre was justified in the eyes of Ukrainians.
I haven't seen you being concerned about horrific suffering visited upon civilians by Ukrainian regime.
Here we go again, 8 years bull****

From Twitter. UA forces using ATV's with Stugna-P ATGM's for shoot and scoot tactics.

There seem to be a lot of spontaneous yet somehow somewhat tactical fires erupting across Russia. From fuel storage to book publishers, all very crispy.

Some stuff from the past.

Rumors about Transnistria joining the war or being used as a field for provocations so that Russia would go and save people over there have appeared relatively not too long ago...
...but Russia showed that there are active firefights basically since the beginning.
This is a screenshot from 3rd of March.
The Ukrainian land next to Transnistria border is marked as a battle zone, but even now there was no battles.

BTW, also in early March, Lukashenko showed a map from where the attack was planned, and you can see a tactical arrow pointed towards Transnistria from Odessa.

Have a read...

Some highlights

A family of three - a couple in their thirties and their young child - lived in a house on the edge of the village.
"On 9 March, several soldiers of the Russian army entered the house. The husband tried to protect his wife and child. So they shot him in the yard," said Mr Nebytov.
"After that, two soldiers repeatedly raped the wife. They would leave and then come back. They returned three times to rape her. They threatened that if she resisted they would harm her little boy. To protect her child she didn't resist."
When the soldiers left, they burnt down the house and shot the family's dogs.

...

Ukraine's ombudsman for human rights Lyudmyla Denisova says they're documenting several such cases.
"About 25 girls and women aged 14 to 24 were systematically raped during the occupation in the basement of one house in Bucha. Nine of them are pregnant," she said. "Russian soldiers told them they would rape them to the point where they wouldn't want sexual contact with any man, to prevent them from having Ukrainian children."

I suppose we now just wait for Rage Racer to tell us it didn't happen, and if it did it was justified.

He'll have to watch out for those Banana and Crisp sandwiches

Something along the lines of "It's clearly propaganda as the bbc didnt check the facts and just believed what the traumatised rape victim told them and didnt check his body for bullet wounds..."

Based on previous conversations, my guess is he's "taking a break" from this thread until everyone moves on and will ignore this when he comes back.

Either that or the Ukrainians started it somehow in 2014. Because, that would justify it, even if the Russians DID do it.

"Two war crimes make a right"?

And we all know Russian sources are the best sources for fact checked, independent news.

Imposibru. Transnistria is covered by Ukrainian and NATO AA.

Because a defeat to the orcs equals a more prosperous future for all of the rest of us. "Natural" invalidation of this illegitimate war in the form of the defenders standing strong doesn't hurt either.

Must be because Russia actually built those buildings out of paper mache and kerosene.

A couple of interesting rumors are that (1) Putin will undergo cancer surgery in the immediate future. He may be in his final days as president. No idea who may replace him. The other rumor is that Russia will declare war against Ukraine on or around May 9th.
