RVV Motor Works - White Knight - 10/02/10

Meh, it can do high-points, however the handling is good considering it's an S13 and nothing in comparison to the more thoroughbred Japanese sports cars.
 
I'll likely try this one, just because it seems so useful, and I've already got one in my garage.

But, I also feel like I owe the folks at MFT a review, since I've not given them one recently. MR-2 looks tasty, too. When I get back to my DFP setup during the weekdays, I'll be able to get something done.
 
I'm hoping someone will test my beastial Escort, because it's also quite useful on these rally races. Especially on Citta d' Aria, where it has been tuned for.

Notes:
This light tune up turns the Mirage into the hot hatch it was supposed to be. Keeping the engine naturally aspirated and tuning the suspension for pure handling, this Mirage will embarrass the likes of the Civic Type R, Golf GTi and the 206 RC. The wheelspin in this car is barely noticeable, with only slight throttle control in 1st gear you can launch this car smoke free from a standstill. A perfect car for the smaller race series where handling is more important than power.
 
Toyota Supra 3.0GT Turbo A '88 Review


First and foremost I'd like to say in realife this car has been very appealing to me. Im considering purchasing one (among many others) later in the fall. I disagree with you on the stock setting though. I think this is a desent handling machine considering its an '88 and has sort of a weight disadvantage. But anyway I really have nothing bad to say about this setup. The car does whatever I need it to with out effort. Turn-in is good, and theres no understeer or oversteer worth mentioning. I took it for a spin on Deep Forest a few times and felt as if it was tuned particularly for that course. Its a simple car to drive and can easily make a novice driver seem seasoned. I rate this car overall a 9/10. Its a cool simple drive that doesn't need technique, the car does exactly what you need it to.

Performs exactly as I intended it to, gotta love the old girl. :sly: She's 1 year older than me though... :dopey:

While it wasnt specifically tuned for Deep Forest (infact it never went there during tuning :lol:) but it is tuned to be controllable on the bumpy tracks, Nurburgring included. Seems it works well on Deep Forest too! :D

Notes:
What originally started life as a shopping cart, can now enjoy the thrills of 100mph cornering. This ’79 Civic was stripped of everything that didn’t relate to grip, handling and power. Want to go shopping? Take the Accord, or the Odyssey. You cant put shopping in a rollcaged boot and expect the eggs not to break. The wheezy little 1.5 litre engine was given the full Mugen treatment. Full engine tune including a conversion to EFI takes power and torque into the 170 range. This is more than enough to send the 709kg Civic round corners faster than the newer hot hatches can. Now we can't rewrite history and slap a Type R badge on it to represent its ability, so we did one better. Say hello to the Civic VTi '79!

I've tested out Junkie's Gray Ghost and all I have to say is: wow.

Even though I've been playing GT4 since mid 2006, I always had trouble understanding the "drift" physics and dynamics in this game. I've been around cars and drifting in real life for some time now and (especially after playing LFS for long time too, where the suspension setting is much more closer to the real thing) I had a tendency to set up cars the way I'm used to from reality.

So when I looked at your set, especially the spring rate figures, I asked my self "is this for real?".

Hell, it is and it's pretty damn good! Though I would prefer some minor changes (ie. I personally dont really like the zenki FC), the pure performance of the car was staggering.

I really need to study the local drifting setups more, I was about to release my own drift car, but after driving yours I realized I need to do some serious changes.

So, to sum it all up:
+ Purist handling. Its simply amazing how this thing performs IMO
- Could use extra +20hp, but I understand the way you build this car and I don't really see it as a drawback

97/100 from me.

(this isn't much of a review, but I really felt like I had to share my opinion. :) )
 
That qualifies as a review however. :D Most people don't do half that.

So, if you ever want anything tuned, don't hesitate to ask.

Notes:
The Bread Van of Amalfi, probably the fastest Bread Van ever. In stock form it’s hard to fault the Impreza Wagon. But still, it didn’t stop us from giving it a refresh and a good tune to make it even better. Since this Impreza is used as a delivery van, we kept the suspension soft and comfortable, while giving the Impreza better road holding and making it more controllable. We don’t want to break the bread now do we? The engine was given an overhaul, with a larger turbo and intercooler to boost up power. The brakes were upgraded to higher spec Brembo items, with the brake bias set slightly to the rear for those downhill runs. The transmission was upgraded to make sure the Impreza doesn’t run out of steam going uphill, too. We didn’t weight reduce the Impreza since its supposed to be a daily driven car and not a track day special, so 5 people and their loafs of bread can enjoy a high speed run around Costa di Amalfi.

Notes:
When most people see the 190E Evolution II, they see a Mercedes 190E with a Combat Kit. Something spawned from a ricer catalogue. But for those who know what the Evolution II is, the huge spoiler and wide wings aren’t for show, it’s to give the 190E a drag coefficient of 0.29. That spoiler does create downforce, so a ricer it is not. The 2.5 litre motor was developed by Cosworth, a company well known for its motor racing expertise and those crazy Ford RS Cosworth road cars. However, we picked up where Cosworth left off, by chipping the motor, and doing some high stage NA work. The result is 5bhp shy of 400bhp. On a light RWD chassis such as this, that’s more than enough. The suspension was tuned to give the 190E a Touring Car stance and handling performance. Low ride height and a fair amount of camber keeps a good look whilst helping the 190E take corners at speeds that most BMWs would wet themselves at. Like any 400bhp RWD car, this 190E will want to slide a bit in 2nd gear, although we kept it to a minimum and its actually quite controllable. Since Mercedes didn’t want to shout about how their engine was developed by the British, we decided to shout on their behalf. So say hello, to the Mercedes-Benz 190E RS Cosworth.

It does get troublesome to remember where you made promises. I'm really struggling to even get GT4 time in. Today, well, I woke up still half drunk at a mate's place. Ate breakfast at a McDonalds (suprisingly good too), went home, before a friend came over, and we played some GTA IV, then he left in the arvo. I forget what happened then (hey, I only had 4hrs sleep on a cement floor last night), then the Sunday night TV shows came on, and by the time that was done the GT4/PS2 TV was taken until just now (late night time). So I had to play GT5:P.

Seriously, this thing is scary fast. It will vault itself right into corners and fly right out of them like there's no tomorrow. Well, except for one-you have to be more careful on the jump right before the 4th hairpin. Don't, and you get (at best) massive understeer or (at worst) a piece of the wall.
On higher-speed corners, all you have to do is tap the brakes and instantly mash the gas, and it'll get just sideways enough for you to get around, while simultaneously scaring the crap out of whatever passengers you have. It'll also get tail-happy out of the 3 smallest hairpins if you like the throttle, but it creates some absolutely lurid drifts (which, of course, makes for some great Photomode material). Overall, one awesome sleeper car, and a great thing to go and scare your friends with.

Green Goblin Infini III, a new legend in the make. Can compete with the Dodge Viper GTSR Concept and the Nissan R390 Road Car, which I got to know from a challenging race at Tokyo R246. Just put it on level 6, and off you go!

The car has been tuned to blast at high speed. This is a way to survive on the "Wangan", the longest straight highway of Japan, which is filled with high powered Devils.
