Read on the 9-5, looks ugly. That long diagonal back pillar is just odd to loo at. Hope Saab comes out with something cooler.

Looks good. I like Saabs, and I hope they don't die off.

Is that really an all new 9-5 though, or is it still based on the old 9-5 chassis but just facelifted and slight updated?

It's still on a GM chassis I think, Epsilon II.

Word is that Spyker just exploded, though.

I heard this. What do they have left then? Just Saab? Hopefully they can start selling in decent numbers pretty quick.

I really like the design of this car. The only thing that gets me is the taillights. It just doesn't look quite right on a wagon. Not totally sure why.

I'm liking the new Saab rears with the rear light strips but I still think the fronts look really boring. Hopefully further down the line some of the Spyker 'crazy' will filter down in the looks dept :)

The headlight shape of Saabs have been reminiscent of airplane fuselage and wings for quite some time now. It may be boring, but it's appropriate, and a very good and subtle design element.

The end is probably near now. Saab doesn't have any money, they can't pay for the parts to manufacture the cars and they cannot even pay the salaries to their employees this month. No cars have been built for a couple of weeks now.

I agree it is not looking good for SAAB, and their new model (9-4X) just released is just not enough to help them out of the hole. It doesn't even have a diesel version. I don't know why on earth they think a petrol (2.8 V6 Turbo GM Engine) is going to sell in a 2 tonne car 4x4 car. It makes no sense. Strictly for the very few few rich people that (for unfathomable reasons) must have a 'SUV', don't want a diesel and doesn't want a BMW, AUDI, Mercedes or a Land Rover, all of which are arguably better cars and available at similar price (£40k). Bizarre.

And I really like SAAB.

I can't help but feel as well that GM has done no good to SAAB. it feels like their cars are nothing other than a GM/Opel platform with a Fiat engine in it.
Also, since Swedish news are thinking about whether Muller has pay money of his own in the situation of a bankruptcy. Which seems unavoidable.

Poor Saab. I thought they're cars were quite interesting, although they have been making the current 9-3 since 2002/3. The new 9-5 is a nice looking car, I hope someone rescues Saab. This reminds me of the demise of MG-Rover.

I really thought Spyker could turn it around but I guess it didn't work out. It would be good if a Chinese firm bought them because they could provide a lot of funding, just look at Volvo and how that's gone pretty well.

Meh, can't feel sad, crappy cars, even the 99 and 900 turbo.
They looked sporty, and that's it, they are nowhere near as reliable as that other Swedish manufacturer.

Victor Muller wasn't thinking sober when he decided to buy and 'save' Saab.

This is killing me.

I'm hoping that their is some last minute deal with Vladimir Antonov or a Chinese firm. :scared:

I love SAAB. :nervous:

I hope they can find a last minute deal or something, as I've always had a soft spot for Saab.:(

GM should've killed off everything else but Chevrolet instead.

Nobody likes Cadillacs anymore. Or Buicks. Or GMCs.

/rage

Hopefully 3rd party manufactors will keep making spare parts... I really hope so since I have a Saab :S
