Lol I don't know about the S4, but the previous S phones have used Sony cameras, seems Samsung have beaten Sony with their own camera here.

Everyone uses Sony sensors at the moment, including Apple. The difference is more to do with the cost and investment in lens elements, which Apple still is winning at the moment.

Depends on what you want from a camera. One could argue the Sony offers a more balanced range of colors in those photos with a background de focus effect going on, while the Samsung runs the usual over-saturated colors, everything in focus camera.

Also, the Sony has the Exmor RS sensor over the S4, which should provide much better low light performance, which I think is far more important than whatever differences you may see in the above shots.

@ NZ Pricing

That is a bit higher than I was expecting, especially comparing to the competition...

NZ Pricing RRP

Samsung S4: $1149
Sony Xperia Z: $999
iPhone 5: $1049
Nokia Lumia 920: $999

That is quite a hike, the S3 launched at $1049 last year, and with the S4 pricing well above the competition, will be interesting to see if people are turned off with the extra premium over the competition.

Omg those are high prices. You guys should come to Canada and buy one. Brand new the S3 was like $600 and I assume the S4 will be the same.

Holy crap 120 dollars for the pad... are you mad samsung ? You can buy an old model psp for that amount. I really dont get that kind of crazy pricing...

You guys hear about the Samsung watch competitor vs. Iwatch?

Yay 800 posts

I hear about all these watches, but what's the point? It's just like tablets that are totally pointless if you already have a good phone. They are just making anything that seems neat to sell now a days.

Exactly. If somethings good their is no need to fix it. If your tablet is already useful why get a new one? Soon its going to ihat. Its a hat that can call people. It reads brain waves so it reads your mind and calls the people who you wanted to call on your cell phone(sarcasm in this post). Technology is crazy

SPOTTED: Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9190!

The Galaxy S4 mini is expected to be launched during summer in June / July. The device will have a 4.3″ Super AMOLED qHD display with a pixel density of 256ppi a 1.6GHz Dual-Core CPU and based on TW Nature UX 2.0 running on Android 4.2.2. The Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini comes in a dual-sim variant as well, making it it available in two variants. Below are some pictures of the Galaxy S4 Mini. You will notice the device itself looks a lot like the Galaxy S4.

Since the GS4 isn't out yet, would you guys buy the mini variant of the 4.99" Galaxy S4? Or just wait for the GS4 next month?

Oh by the way, you can get the mini variant of the GS3 as well. :)

Here's the thing - there is NO iwatch, it's all speculation, and quite frankly I'm pissed off that people/media say 'Samsung is making a watch to rival apple's' when apple aren't making one, nothing has been announced or hinted to by them; if Apple announce a watch- it will the theirs that will try to rival Samsung's.

Also, those various media articles about how Apple might produce a smart watch- they're always written in a way that suggests Apple are 'inventing' them, they never acknowledge that they already exist in the form of the windows one and the Pebble.

I'm curious, but are you planning to have much discussion in your posts or are you just going to continue copy/pasting announcements from other sites?

The smartwatch is much older than those suggested there. A few manufacturers have been doing them for many years. Sony has currently the Smartwatch MN2. Sony Ericsson had the LiveView back in 2010 roughly. Before then, I had the Sony Ericsson MBW-100 which I think was Sony's first attempt at a Smartwatch back in 2007. There are a few others out there, Sony certainly wasn't the first.

They haven't caught on because they don't do anything more than picking up your phone and doing said application with it. Sure they are a cool tech, but not really useful in the grand scheme of things.

@Azuremen..You would believe he works for Samsung looking at his posts...

Will the S4 have a USB3 connection or thunderbolt or anything like that? Transferring gigs of videos over usb2 is what I hate most about my iphone. Takes FOREVER.

From what I understand the S4 is 3.0 usb. Also with android you can easily stream videos so not much need to transfer. I transfered a blue ray movie from my comp to my S3 with usb and it only took like 5min. Not really that long of a wait.

Unfortunately, it isn't USB 3.0 native. :(

Been receiving pop ups on my SIII when jacking in my micro usb 2.0 to my usb 3.0 port.

So basically what I was saying about the screen technology not having accurate color representation stands. Blues are over the top on it still as well, based on what I've seen in person.

Also, are you going to actually talk about anything you post or are you just going to keep copy/pasting articles and chain posting because people don't really care to respond to your news feed style?

That's basically what the thread is all about. :P

Pretty much everyone is doing that on GTplanet. Don't know why you want to brag about the posts that I'm willingly to post on my thread and we shall just leave it to that.

Peace out. ;)

Brag? What?

Have you ever been any other threads on GTP? There is a great deal of conversation going on and certainly more than copy and pasting results from mobile phone sites. Like others have said, it just looks like you work for Samsung in the way that you post. You don't even expand on them, just one line copy/pastes from other sources and a link.

Use your words, express an opinion.

It's disappointing that the design is kept similar to the GS3 with only slight changes done. I always thought the S3 is ugly, it doesn't cut that the S4 is still ugly following the footstep of the S3. The phone specs seems to be excellent, but some have already tried the device and said despite the Octa-Core processor and all, it still lags in some places. I'll reserve my judgement and see if it really lags...

However, I still wouldn't get one of these though. The design, feel and the build quality just doesn't impress me. Played around with my mate's S3 before and I wasn't all that impressed with the build quality and the feel of it in my hand. I would expect the S4 to be about the same. Furthermore, the massive size of this phone just puts me away. 5 freaking inches in my pocket is not ideal. My Lumia 620 feels much better honestly.
