Sardegna Leaderboard: Grind Times for 45 Cars, Strategies, Tunes & FAQ's (post 1.31)

I'm looking for a car that I can just drive without too much fuss about the time it takes and not worrying about fuel. I used to use the Audi DTM.

Any suggestion? I don't mind running it on easy either.

Are you still using the same tune as here?
My current best is 23:00.xxx and I wonder if there's anything I am missing apart from my driving skill to get into 22 zone.

Yes i kept trying to improve on it by changing small setting here and there but that is still my fastest setup

You really " Take no prisoners " with this one .
It's quite tough to drive with the identity " on your teeth " for so many laps.

I would have done a sub 22:30 if only i didnt crash in the fast esses in sector 3 trying to pass the ai i think i had to pass cars in that section like 5 times. Happy with my fastest lap though that cane out of nowhere 😳

Best car for me is the FT-1 VGT it absolutely smashed it fuel and tyre wear is brilliant, started with just under 9 laps of fuel on lean setting and when I pitted my RS tyres weren’t even worn half way, I won the race after lapping every other car as well 👍 i did save the replay but have no idea how to upload it here 🤷‍♂️

Now I have tuned my car to a standstill!! lol…. Oh dear.

In testing the car ran 34’s on FM6 and 32’s on FM1. I thought beauty 2 stop race (change 1 set of RS tyres) and it handles 100% better……. Car is too thirsty (too much straight line handling) now and needed 3 stops for fuel. Ohhh back to the drawing board.

Here is my leaderboard submission for the 22 Club using Turbodatsun's tune (thank you Turbodatsun!!), 22:54.629 total time, 1:28.335 fastest lap.

Thought I would have a crack at the fastest car and…. God damn it’s fast! Took some ques from Turbodato’s setup (thank you) and still a bit of fiddling to do. I still need 1 second a lap to get near the gods 😝😝..

Thought this would be a fun challenge... swapped Mazda3 with the 787b engine. I don't think I went one single lap without hitting a wall. Thing has zero front grip or braking power, even with racing softs and all brake upgrades. Eats front tires like crazy so I ended up having to use RM and a two stop strategy. Tried with ballast in the rear but it just makes braking and grip worse.

Took the Enzo out for a blat… pretty fast! It’s fun to get the most out of the car that I can. I’m sure someone would smoke me with half an idea on what they’re doing. 🤣🤣

Ok I have got the F40 towards the sweet spot. Both with original engine and the swapped engine….

Original engine 3.8L TT
Fastest lap: 1:33.845
Race time: 24:46.862

Race time: 24:44.580

I feel the the V12 has approximately 10 seconds advantage over the 3.8TT. Just need a clean race with traffic to show the engine swaps true potential.

For the V8 FM5 for the entire race… for the V12 FM2…

Ok the swapped 2009 Porsche 997 is fast!!! I think I can get another 6 seconds out of it….. hot damn, was not expecting that! The only faster road car I know is the swapped R34 skyline.

I mucked it up and had to run a few laps in FM2.
Onwards and upwards!

Still time in the car and track just need “the perfect run” as always. The wind direction makes a HUGE difference…. Back to the drawing board.

FM1 flat out the entire time. It’s good on fuel, super easy on the tyres and a more consistent car to drive compared to the big powerful Nissan. I still have more time to find in the setup… missing corner entry. Good fun!

What do you think is the better wind direction? I roll around and when I get to the pitstop (I play in VR) I look at the wind and it’s 9.1kph in a slightly different direction. 🤣🤣

It seams like a low north to south wind with a slight direction towards the west is best also bellow 4.5km/h is good,

You know when you have ones of those all so close moments…. I had one today. I got track limits at turn 1 😳 towards the end of the race…. one bad lap of traffic… eep! Character building 🤣🤣🤣

Ok… I’m a geek…. Here is the runs I’ve competed in the Nissan and a few in the Mazda 787B. I have been concentrating on the SW wind whilst grinding away… but maybe a low speed West is the best?
I’ll do some grinding and try west next few races. I did 655.9km of running tonight… trying to keep it consistent.

The wind speed is at the pitstop at the end of lap 8 going onto lap 9.

All races done with the same setup for the Nissan and the Mazda.

What variables do you guys feel effect the race time the most?? Sometimes the fuel consumption goes out the window and I’m not shifting different? Must be the wind or air temp? Is the GT7 that sensitive? Must be?
