Here are the rules:

1) Lobby should be opened by the first name in the each pairing, as posted above;

2) In the first window, host will select:

in accordance with this Round settings.

3) In the second window (advanced settings, you access it from the first window by pressing square), host will select:

- Max Players - 4
- Private Slots - All
- Collisions - Off when penalized
- Disqualified in - 5 Penalties
- Grid - Fastest Lap
- Racing Line - Off
- Transmission - Automatic
- Race Setup - Simulation
- Stability Control - Off

The settings posted above, especially the "number of laps" settings, refer to the actual race. The previous qualifying session, as posted in the main thread, will have the number of laps set to 2

Although we don't have any race result from Round 2, the show must go on and thursday is the day to make the "next-round-car" known. So, here you have it.

Round 2 runners complained that the combo chosen for that round (C6R / Infineon) was too hard. Seems all of them hate me now.

Well ... I just hope you find that Round 3 will be ... even harder!


Anyway, the 365 GTB/4 Competizione is a wonderful car, with a very impressive track record and I'm sure when this Round ends all participants will love it (as they are loving the C6R by now ... LOL )


btw, and to newcomers to ROC, I guess you all realized by now that I fooled you all when I said that this was a "ONE RACE PER WEEK EVENT", not taking much of your time ... considering you guys are practising every day and every night and every moment you get available ... for one full week

That's really bad news Geordie !!!! For my part I don't think I want to get to Round 4 without racing .... I don't know what to do. Will think about this.

I do refuse to take a Round 4 slot without racing. And jjaisli doesn't want to take the lucky loser slot left vacant by Geordie.

So, I will use my power as organizer/host of this event and will, under these unexpected circumstances, change this round rules.

I thought about many possible solutions, and I appreciate the input of all ROC players I met last night when we discussed "what to do". As they know, I thought about quiting also and organizing a race betrween the other pairings losers, winner in that race getting the 4th Round 4 slot.

However, I want to race this round 3 race also

So, instead of quiting, I decided to revive the "lucky/fastest loser" rule, with a twist: The fastest loser from the other three pairings doesn't get instant access to Round 4. What he gains is the oportunity to race against me, the "pairless" in this round


I know that this one being a "wet" round, race times won't be the fastest possible to post in the leaderboards. So, my advice to all 6 players in the other 3 pairings is to practise this combo bot in dry and wet conditions.



In short, this is what will happen:


1 - All other (3) pairings will proceed as normal and will report to me their race result until next Sunday night (23:59 GMT).

2 The winners of those 3 races get to Round 4 directly.

3 - From their pairs, I will race the one that has the fastest time posted in the Vallelunga / GTB365/4 Leaderboard by Sunday at 23:59 GMT

4 - The deadline for this last race will be next Tuesday, 23:59 GMT

5 - Round 4 thread will be, as usual, posted next thursday (tomorrow), with only the chosen car. More details will be posted until Sunday, BUT the chosen track will only be posted Tuesday night, after all Round 4 racers have been found.

Maybe I should have taken the lucky loser slot just to save everybody the mental anguish from having to read through this and figure out their part in the weaving.

(Just kidding Mario) As we discussed last night, I think it's an elegant acceptable solution under the circumstances.

GTP_Madbigdog and turnupdaheat end here their participation in this ROC Event, I can only hope you both enjoyed being part of it. The competitive level of this event was very, very high, the leaderboards for all three Rounds' combos show it.

As for AlanG184, he is the current record holder for the Vallelunga / GTB/4 Comp. combo and that means that the last race of this Round to be held will be between me and him . Deadline for that race is tomorrow night. After that race happens I will post all the missing Round 4 details.

The last Round 3 race just happened, and this is the report:

I may add a lite review of this race. We had to do it twice because Alan lost connection by lap 6 or 7 of the first race.

In both races, Alan was always consistently faster than me, by about 1 full second per lap. His best lap was a 2:01:9x, mine was a 2:02:8x (it was my best time ever, I guess it will show up in the leaderboard because I never tried this combo in dry condition).

So, I am glad that I decided not to accept a given Round 4 slot, because Alan, undoubtebly, deserves it a lot more than I do. I wish him luck for his next ROC races !
