I'm blushing here!! FerrariPro contacted me to arrange a time to race and he mentioned he thought it was a fix!

I told him that we could get Max Moseley to investigate the claim if we had a "whip around" to entice him!!

I'm sorry I didn't join you guys last night. (A four green ping lobby is a thing of beauty and shouldn't be ignored). But I really wanted to run a few rounds in Time Trial and improve my lines without impeding other cars. I realize now by changing my shift points and using a different gear at certain corners, and taking the first 'kink' in the long right hander flat out without lifting (something I didn't think could be done at first), I could gain nearly a second. But I think I'm pretty much at my limit and for me personally, reaching times below the 1:40.0 mark would be REALLY risky.

And probably impossible. :)

@ turnuptheheat
Sorry for not answering your invitation yesterday. I was hosting a private sessions with some friends learning the car and the track under roc conditions. At least I was able to improve my fastest time and now I am only a blink behind Shaggy_Alonso.

In general: What happens when the opponent doesnt answer to your message for setting up the race? Are there some regularies for this case?

No problem frawe. I think I missed 6 invitations from arvore the night before last!

We did eventually meet up last night and it went on a bit longer than I had planned (3am finish). My missus thinks I'm mad!!

I'm sure people are. I'll be around anyway, not sure what time yet. I'll drop you a line.

Sounds good... just send me an add on PSN 👍 I have an appointment after work... but should be home later in the evening :) Get some practice in before "THE" race :D

I'll do that and see you later. When are you holding "THE" race?

Hopefully on Friday or Saturday afternoon... I have sent RSRacer a message on the Eutechnyx forums... I hope he gets in contact with me soon.

Well, bummer :grumpy:

George drove a great race and was on it from pretty much the moment we started practicing together infact. His qualy lap was a low 1:39 (!) and mine a paltry 1:43. Then in the race I figured my only chance would be to nail him into turn one but he got as good a start as I did and he quickly faded into the distance. There might have been a respectable difference between us by the end if it hadn't been for me clipping the dirt on the inside of the fast right hander, spitting me into the sand and losing me about 14 seconds :(

On my final lap, I was looking at possibly a 1:42 but I missed my braking point slightly and went way wide at the Curva Tramonto.

Oh well, it was still decent fun, but a pity I couldn't have kept George slightly more honest, but he was in a different league alltogether. Congrats to him anyway. Enjoy the rest of the competition guys 👍

Bad Luck Shaggy. But don't let it get you down. The UKOG guys are often on another level completely and it's tough to compete against somebody who manages a lap that's a full 4 seconds quicker--especially when they're really 'on it' and don't make any mistakes.

I'll probably be joining you on the bench shortly. ;)

I will be away from home until Monday. So I wont be able to play this round. I already sent a PSN message to Zedux to inform him.
However, I will pratice to be in shape in a future SCC competition (i hope so).

See you guys online.

I presume you were using no ABS, and if you are using the dual-shock, this is tricky! Ideally one wants to immediately go onto around 90-95 at the start of breaking, but the sixaxis is impossible for this because there's just no feel to it. I find the best thing is to just break 100% when in a straight line, but make sure to release to around 70-90 (this is difficult!!) crucially before turning.

Apart from that - for me, a laptime in any car on any circuit begins with the braking points. Generally the speed will be always nearly the same on approach to corners. So just throw on a 20 lap offline race or something, and once you can remember the braking points, the laptimes should fall into place. The hard part is getting below 1.40 (for 360GT at Misano). A humble tip would be, give priority to speed out of corners, especially coming onto longer straights.

This "split time" thing in SCC is great - the time difference between you and the car infront/behind (the term is wrongly used in SCC). I try to use it all the time to see where I'm losing time. It's pretty handy. It's a good idea to keep an eye on that thing when doing online races to see where you may be gaining and losing time!

Well, bummer :grumpy:

Ben, you were paired against UKOG-Geordie, nice guy but too fast of a driver :scared: ;)!

Nice writeup, thanks for participating and I wish you better luck next time! :)

Pity you can't make it, The Big1! And keep practising, SCC online is only beggining now so it can only grow in number of players and variety of events (at least, I hope so).

Considering the result from the "Geordie - S - ALonso" race, and also the withdrawal of "TheBig1", I have updated the 1st post, adding to the end of it the round final results (race results, leaderboards and the list of the 12 drivers that will proceede to Round 2.

Meanwhile, I'll give you an update on the 360GT /Misano leaderboard. I'm very happy to inform you that the TOP TEN leaderboard is now a ROC business, first non-ROC time, made by SEGEL, is now in 11th place.

This is the leaderboard current status (TOP TEN and other ROC players)

1. Turnupdaheat -1:37,18

2. AlanG184 - 1:38,21

3. GTP_Hun - 1:38,74

4. mhm66 - 1:38,82

5. GTP_Theewar - 1:39,32

6. UKOG - Geordie - 1:39,79

7. arvore - 1:39,84 (RL)

8. cooldawn - 1:40,22

9. jjaisli- 1:40,57

10. FerrariPro - 1:40,87
...

12. arvore2 - 1:40,96

13. RSRacer - 1:41,39

14. GTP_Madbigdog - 1:41,41
...

16. ukog-dyer - 1:41,76
...

18. frawe - 1:42,04

11. jjaisli - 1:42,10
...
25. Shaggy_Alonso - 1:42,96 (TC/SC)
...
26. TheBig1 - 1:43,16

As you probably noticed, "arvore" switched to a different PSN ID because he feels he isn't able to replicate without assists his time with the RL assist.

 Thanks! I feel a good bit better now. I've never been able to get a clear answer on this, even from Eutechnyx. Do setup changes carry through to the on-line races? Or are they strictly for off-line running?

Hun200kmh--did you set that time in Time Trial, QuickRace or online?

I set that time RACING against "turnupdaheat" (but I lost :D ), and I I think Del heard my absolute joy to reach a 1.38 time, and he also heard what I said to frawe (lobby host at that point) about the need to setup the car.

So don't you worry , I wasn't intending to keep it a secret and, in fact, I want you to try my car setup, do your own and that's how we're going to do the race 👍

God I hate this track going the right way around. Much preferred it in Ferrari Challenge...hence the 1:40 lap time. It's tough.

Anyways not too sure when MHailwood is going to be ready to race. What happens if it doesn't come together?

I'll send him a PSN message today.

^^^^ 3 posts in the same minute

Vincent, if he doesn't show up you proceede to round 2, like it happened with Zedux!

I've sent a message to cooldawn asking if he wants to race on saturday. Still haven't unlocked the car in single player (whch tournament do i do?), and i hate Misano in the opposite direction!

Hi Sarrinen, I was starting to wonder if you were going to show up! To unlock the 360 GT to offline mode you just have to do:

1. Arcade Begginer - 3 races - gives you the 250 TR
2. Arcade Intermediate - 3 races - gives you the 360 GT

Just had my race with jjaisli. We did the "quali race" first and another one of "those mistakes" :indiff: made me lose pole position.

The race, for the full 7 laps, was pretty much uneventful. We were racing aproximately at the same pace, so jjaisli kept his cool and kept first place from start to finish.

Great race from him because it isn't easy to have your rival's car filling your rear view mirror for an entire race and not let that get to you. 👍

So, jjaisli joins UKOG-Geordie and Zedux in Round 2 :)

Jeff, thanks for the race, good luck in the next! 👍

Thanks Mario. I'm happy to have made it through to round two, but to be honest, as you could probably tell from my reaction both before and after the race, I'm feeling a bit...unsatisfied...about the whole thing. As it was made clear that changes to the set-up carry through to on-line racing, and you were able to better your time by nearly 2 full seconds, I realized I had no choice but to try and tune the car for better performance or else I would be left in the dust.

I embarked on what felt like a journey to hell and back. First, I felt like I went in completely the wrong direction. Then I started to slowly dial it in. Then I had several different setups that were a compromise. One would allow me to gain time on the hairpins but I couldn't keep the car on the road for the long right hand sweeper. Then I made more changes and found a great set up for the long right hander but I could barely make it through the right-left chicane. By the time you sent me the first (2nd?) PM, I had changed the setup once again and the car was almost completely undriveable no matter where I was on the track.

I reset everything to default and started from scratch, using your suggestions, which were actually quite basic. I then went four laps to test that setup and went off the track at least once on every lap. At that point, I had been trying to dial the car in for nearly 2 hours and after a long and frustrating day at work, I was almost at the end of my rope, frustration was getting the better of me, and I was actually considering if I should just forfeit.

We had our qualifying match, which you should have easily walked, considering your fastest lap time (on the leaderboards) was over a second quicker than mine. But I guess just a small mistake from you in the braking zone after the long right hander put me in front. From there we ran our race, and as you said, I tried to run quick but conservative laps. I managed several laps in the high 1:39s and my fastest lap in the mid 1:39s was about .4 slower than your quickest lap.

Considering the fact that I took your suggestions for my setup, that you had the fastest lap of the race and still hold an ultimate fast lap record of about .7 quicker than mine, I don't really take a lot of satisfaction in this 'victory'. But I guess that's how it goes sometimes. 👍👎

Thanks for racing (and your patience pre-race).

Had some practice races with turnupdaheat last night... You are lightning quick my friend... I really need to get the hang of these physics... too use to GT and Shift... :D The more I play the more I like them though... The satisfaction you get when you finally do some good laps is great... Now if I could work on my consistency and knock off 2 secs I'll be on a good pace :) Still havent heard anything from RSRacer :( Ive sent him two messages at the Eutechnyx forums, but no answer...
