Here's hoping then that PD releases at least, a little bit more information on GT5 itself than just what's planned for Prologue.

It's great to have a time frame, I just wish the source was a little more concrete.

Quote "For next year, the chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment for southern Europe said that they are developing a new game thriller, in which the player may be designing their own history, and the new version of Gran Turismo, which will arrive at Christmas."

You could read that as if there is a game in which the player may be designing their own history which will be out next year but the new version of Gran Turismo which will arrive at Christmas" where is 2009 mentioned? Could this mean that GT5 will be out this Christmas 2008?

And lets face it - It should really, another year waiting sucks and for people on here who don't mind I just can't believe you are all so cool about it another YEAR for Christs sake!!!

6 months would be just about bearable but 12 months is a long time to be waitng for somthing.

Can you imagine if it was coming out this Christmas - oh the JOY!!!!

But 12 long months waiting and waiting and waiting............................NO WAY!!!

And so the GT release date fan fare begins.... After GT4 I wouldn't believe anything untill you can actually pick it up off the shelf.

true, When I was looking for GT4 I heard rumors that it was going to be released 2 years before it actually was. I had to wait two long agonising years to get it.

Even then you got to make sure it's not one of those phony 'coming soon' covers that never fail to dissapoint. :sly:

GT5 was originally being talked about a 2008 release, at that time 2008 was like saying 2011 now.

I agree, KY hinted at a surprise regarding the release date, a year to go isn't the surprise I was expecting, and we all know how dodgy translations can be, I don't think this is an accurate date at all somehow.

Yeah like in Ahmed's interview KY said "Sooner than you may think", if a year is "sooner" then I hate to think how long it would be if they said it was delayed.

He said sooner because Ahmed came out with what we were all thinking, 2 years +. Next christmas is a little over a year.

Still a year is a long time, I was thinking more along the lines of a March release, play.com pre-orders had March down and so did a few other retailers who were doing pre-orders.
They may have changed that now but last time I looked they said March.

Well, may be good news to you guys... but frankly I don't care how long it takes. I just want them to take their time with this one... the longer it takes, the better it will be. I'd rather have an amazing, awesome game after a long wait than an unfinished - or hastily finished - one right away.

I don't know, but I suspect that's what happened with GT4... for some reason it just felt so... unfinished. Maybe that's just me. But I just hope PD take their time with GT5 and don't rush it. You all are probably going to hate me for this, but I hope for a release time around 2010-11.

Plus it'd be more time to save for a bloody PS3

Good news 2009 is beter than 2010!

But we have one more year to the release! :scared:

I am sure it will be a good game that justifies the wait!

In news, there is said that Japan-version might come earlier than Europe-version.

My concerne is: Japan-version has no chance to choose language...what do you think. Could it be so?

I'll buy it anyway. It's just so hard at first, cause you have no idea what there reads. ...had same problems with GT3 and GT4 also. Glad we have internet, and you can find good translates few days after releases.

I just hope we can get somthing new to play around with between now and then, the ring isnt going to happen but maybe we could get sarthe or somthing. Getting more new cars would be cool but I am so sick of these tracks I need somthing new. Maybe they could make GT4 downloadable from the PSN store.

Ahh for gods sake, stop hyping me. lol :nervous:
Wont happen, im pessimistic with Xmas 2009, but 2008 is far away from realistic.

no way will it be xmas 2008

xmas 2009 is just too long a wait though IMO.

spring I could hack... summer I guess would be ok... winter 2009... :(

Now that kind of news is what I call a morning eye opener.

Xmas 2009..hmm got enough time to start saving to buy lcd, playseat & logitech g25...& play other awaited games also..its not too far actually :sly:

For some reason I was reading 2008, and was wondering why it was saying the Japanese release would be in Summer, and the US in Fall, then I read 2009.

Anyways, if the JP release is in Summer, I'll probably pick up a Japanese copy and just play all Summer.

it sounds actually as expected, hopefully no delays that will come, other wise just bring the american version to europe (we can speak english!) ;p

2009.....Verrrrryyyyy Niccceeee, I Likeeee ( Borat Voice) :) But seriously 2009 is a very respectable date I think. If this ends up being true then one year I could really live with waiting for GT5. (Even though Gran Turismo franchise is being known for delays). This all time I was hoping that GT5 would come out at least at the end in 2009, so here it is. Now I'll sleep better when Kazunori himself confirms this date, even though it might be delayed it shouldn't be too far off. :)

the way the years are passing, youll be driving a ferrari enzo down sarthe or nurb befour you know it.

Torque.
