Speaking of Japanese and Pal versions, now I own 2 copies of GT5 Prologue Japanese, and U.S. version. I was a little bit disappointed with updates of Japanese version, I just couldn't download SPECIII no matter how many times I tried. So lesson learned for me. In case full game will have updates, which I'm pretty sure it will, I don't want to be reading gtplanet post of people how great this and that update is while I'll be stuck. 
So this time I'm waiting for American version PATIENTLY! HeHe..

It kinda is 2010 though, only a matter of days in itGood news 2009 is beter than 2010!
But we have one more year to the release!
I am sure it will be a good game that justifies the wait!

Well, may be good news to you guys... but frankly I don't care how long it takes. I just want them to take their time with this one... the longer it takes, the better it will be. I'd rather have an amazing, awesome game after a long wait than an unfinished - or hastily finished - one right away.
I don't know, but I suspect that's what happened with GT4... for some reason it just felt so... unfinished. Maybe that's just me. But I just hope PD take their time with GT5 and don't rush it. You all are probably going to hate me for this, but I hope for a release time around 2010-11.
Plus it'd be more time to save for a bloody PS3
Argh come on !! A game can always get better the more work and time you put into it. So what you are saying, that if we wait until 2045 for the GT5 release we will probadly get the best racing game ever....
You can always improve GT5 by adding extra tracks, cars and features ect. But when is enough..... enough. Get my point ?

Well, we all know that the last couple of GT games haven't hit their release dates. Not by a LONG shot.
I would be VERY surprised if the Japanese version of the game was out in '09, in which case we still won't get the game until Summer '10. But I think it more likely we'll see the Japanese version sometime in early '10 and everywhere else later in '10.

I really wouldn't mind it coming later than Christmas 2009. Yes, it would be fantastic to have it released then, but I want the best from Polyphony. If it takes a very long time i'm willing to be patient and wait for it, cos I don't want it to be rushed for a release date.
And if it takes long, I can save up for a new TV, wheel, even a racing seat if I so desire.
I really really want GT5 come out as soon as possible. But I want GT5 to be the best racing game/sim that we've ever seen. And I'll happily wait for that!!

I don't know why you people who are doubting Winter of '09 are doubting it. I mean, they've been working on this game for a long time (what is it, 4 or 5 years now?) and if they don't have a release ready in one more year, they need to learn how to organize. Seriously, how many people work at PD? A lot, that's how many. This isn't a small 10 man team or anything.
I'm sure they are working hard.

Previous GT's have also had release dates
GT5 still hasn't got an official date and they are keeping it under tight wraps, so it's hard to break a release date they havent made.
How so? KY was responding to "Gt5 is more than 2 years away), christmas 2009 is a lot less than that.

I guess its how I interpreted it as I just find Christmas 2009 to be abit too far out to be "sooner then you think", but thats me. I'm not really wishing it to come out very soon as I still have no PS3, just stating my opinion. Its not as if like most people GT is the only game I'm waiting for as I have three games(with another on the way) I'll be very occupied with.

actually its 26 paydays for me
but anyways i hope this guy is right and it didnt get FUBAR'd in translation. if so ill be adding GT5 JP to my collection.
its amazing the kinda pull this game has. its the only game that i will actually pay to have imported instead of being patient. though i guess its just because i cant let you guys have all the fun while i look on from the paddock.
