Scientists with too much time, argue about time

Get me Al Gore, Jason Bourne, Gregory House, Bill Gates, Vladimir Putin and Superman - we need to fix this right now!

I was always under the impression that leap seconds were to the benefit of satellite navigation systems, financial transactions and so-on because it at least meant that all timekeeping throughout the world was kept to the same time.

I suppose abolishing the leap second would still mean all atomic clocks were kept in-sync still, but it's hardly like our society has been massively effected for the worse by having leap seconds... I mean, anyone here actually noticed?...

Not Morgan Freeman? He is the voice of God, you know. We also need Doc from back to the Future and the A-Team.

We can cope with inserting an entire day every four years but there's a problem with inserting a second every year or two?

How about just making Feb. 29th 24 hours and three seconds (or whatever is appropriate since last leap year) long?

Why not just wind the clock back 6 hours on new years eve so you can party for a little bit longer?

Then there's no need for a leap year at all.

Never even heard of it.

So...no.
