Scion xB fan club!!!

Did he say otherwise?

In your opinion.

+1, I do quite like this car. There are so many cars that look very similar these days so it's kind of refreshing to something standing out from the rest, reminds me of the Nissan Cube, and Juke for that matter.

Yes Slash, that's my opinion.

Damn right in my opinion. :sly:  👍

I still think the second gen xB is one of the most tragic examples of "designed by a committee" of our time.

Keep in mind that I haven't actually been in one (I've been in the original one and the Kia Soul, and driven the Nissan Cube), but you can almost feel them going through the focus group checklist just looking at it compared to the first.
👍

I recall Toyota statement claiming how they addressed the request for "more room", "more power", etc. Toyota basically changed everything about the car that made it successful in the first place. Pupik noted about the separation between the followers of the first gen & second gen, which illustrate things beautifully.

P.S. I thought the first gen Cube(not sold in the U.S.) was cool. Second gen was bit much for me. Too much funk.

Wow, that makes you unique, but essentially just like the other 240,000 users here.

Experience and facts > Opinion

I guess the bB is the closest thing on GT5 in terms of looks is there anything that is close to our engine and drive train on GT5? maybe on GT6

what are the chances of a 2008- current SCion XB being in GT6 I say slim to none but wee can always hope can we

I drove a first gen automatic for about 3 hours. I basically echo what Pupik said. It was surprisingly slow, even for an economy car, and the centered gauges never even had any novelty to fade.

It did have good ergonomics and was very easy to drive safely. I would recommend it as a learner's car.

Dude...

Problem 1, you drove the automatic. Problem 2, you drove the first gen. Also, why are you complaining when the thread is called "Scion fan club?" Weird.

Because I don't attend forums to **** all over my favorite cars, I can do that on my own. I'm here to discuss cars with other people who might know what they're talking about. You might also want to reread my post. I don't "just complain" I cite two things that like about the car, one of which is recommending it to be used to teach people how to drive.

I think I've gone over this with you before, when you lectured me about the merits of God, but please learn how to present yourself in a modestly coherent way.

As for what Zenith said, it is entirely true. The first gen xB is quite slow, but it is a neat little city car that would be great as a first car or even just a quirky daily.

The 2nd generation xB, however, is just horrible I feel. Much heavier, far less fuel efficient, and just kind of reminds me of the PT Cruiser a bit in its awkward shape and size.

I disagree. 2nd gen xB is great. Period

Why is the 2nd gen xB great? Well, it is faster then the 1st gen. It is very roomy & useful for a lot of things. It's never once broken down on us. I just love my 2nd gen xB. There's nothing really wrong with the first gen, & there's nothing really wrong the the 2nd gen. People can have different tastes & like different cars, but I seem to jump to the xB's side & don't like it if people criticize it.

So perhaps saying that the "2nd gen xB is great. Period" is not the best response when in your very next post you admit that it's a matter of taste. Azuremen's opinion on the car is just as valid as yours. Conversations about a car work best when we deconstruct why people like or dislike a car, not just try to browbeat differing opinions by stating our own as if they are fact.

Having never driven a 2nd gen, I can say that I wouldn't mind the xB having more power, but I dislike the design.

Well, Even if he doesn't like it, it can still be a great car. Its just not for his liking. He can hate it, I can love it.

Greatness in the car sense usually refers to the car being of noteworthy importance in the market or the history of the automobile. I can think of no reasons why the 2nd generation Scion xB would be considered an important or otherwise noteworthy car.

Even if it's not a great car, you can still like it. It's just not that important. You can love it, history can forget it.

Not like it, love it. When I drive my car, when i hear the exhaust, it makes me smile. My car is great "to me" because I think it is. I enjoy my car.

Which is still not the same as your statement of it being a great car, period.

It isn't fast compared to even the most modest sports cars, it isn't as roomy or as fuel efficient as other compacts on the market, etc. You love it, that is great, but don't think that because you love you it that we all should respect it.

The 1st gen is quite arguably a better city car, which is what compacts and subcompacts are generally about.

Whatever dude

It took you almost 2 weeks to come back with this?

...Because arguing about what car is better after the purchase is made has led to exactly zero returns of said purchase.

umm This thread is about only only one car how are we arguing about which is better?

Your right, both 1st gen & 2nd gen xB's are nice cars, they're both xB's. I do love both of them. This thread should be about talking what we've done to ours scions & showing what we've done. Maybe helping others with projects.
