We have two more launches today, and one of them has slipped under the radar. Following Mercedes' online launch disaster and the inevitable media attention with Lewis Hamilton appearing at the launch, we have Toro Rosso putting forward their eighth car, the imaginitively-named STR8.

Launch schedule:

Lotus E21 - January 28th
McLaren MP4-28 - January 31st
Ferrari F138 - February 1st
Force India VJM06 - February 1st
Sauber C32 - February 2nd
Red Bull RB9 - February 3rd
Mercedes AMG F1 W04 - February 4th

Toro Rosso STR8 - February 4th
Caterham CT03 - February 5th
Marussia MR02 - February 5th
Williams FW35 - February 19th

The car launch nobody will really care about.
Don't be so quick to write themm off - Toro Rosso dropped Giorgio Ascanelli as designer late last year and poached James Key away from Sauber. Key designed the C31, which was an excellent car, so his work on the STR8 might give Vergne and Ricciardo something that won't make them look silly.

Come on us Aussie fans are looking forward to this

Hopefully riccardo can live up to his expectations this year and possibly replace webber if he was to retire

I think you'll find that it's far more likely that Red Bull will keep Webber around until Antonio Felix da Costa is ready for Formula 1.

Well... the Toro Rosso last year wasn't exactly horrid. Wasn't great, either.

On the fence about it, but hey... it'll be interesting to see if the personnel change can give them a leg up.

No matter how good the launch is, I do know the people responsible for it will be losing their spots at the team afterwards.

I'm very exited for this launch!
Partially because I am Aussie but mostly because I'm more intrigued with what the smaller teams can come up with. :)

The nose looks very similar to Mercedes'.

Let's just hope the car is capable this year, so they can show RBR how much potential they have or don't have.

I like it. Doesn't set the world on fire (what do you expect though?) but it's a clean design. :)

Expecting Toro Rosso to do well is like expecting team orders in favour of Webber.

Caterham or Marussia are more likely of fighting for wins.

I sincerely hope STR can do well again, but its like watching a caged animal. Such a waste of potential, this team could genuinely fight with the rest of the midfield but are always hamstrung by their pay masters.

Sometimes its worth wondering whether it was better that Minardi really died than kept on life support just to be a rookie-revolving door. At least when Minardi were perennial backmarkers and reliant on rookies and pay drivers, they weren't prevented from doing well when they had the chance.

In terms of resource and ability, the team is better than Minardi was. But in terms of spirit its pretty dead. Seeing the jubilant team of 2008 seems so long ago.

What I find particularly offensive is how Red Bull are allowed to have four cars in F1, yet people whine when Ferrari suggest the idea of adding a third car.

My only opposition of 3-car teams is that they would then take over the podium with 1 team. Its nice that at least 1 different team can get a bit of spotlight that the top 3 positions brings.
