It's fully designed, programmed and ready to go with one exception. The last thing I am waiting for are the PCB's (circuit boards) They are on order and should be here, I'm hoping, sometime next week. I will probably post a thread here showing it, but I won't list a price here, etc. Or you can keep an eye on my website. (it's in my signature)

I'm excited about it... I wish I'd made one sooner.

This sounds great! I'm currently using the CSR shifter set I got in the CSR XL value pack and whilst it's great fun to drive with it isn't the best in terms of feel/noise etc. The TH8RS looks like it will be a big improvement on that.

I just saw the TH8RS on amazon uk for £65 so have ordered one and will be ordering one of your boards as soon as they are available!!!

Great work!

Can I ask, will this board require an additional power source or does it just sit in between the shifter & wheel?

cheers

Yeah I noticed that price a few weeks ago. Big drop from the £170 that my GF paid at launch. You got a great deal and will love it! Hoping this adapter/board isn't to pricey as my race rig tokens are rock bottom atm lol

I was slightly suspicious at first as it looks like its listed twice on amazon, one a a PS3 version and the other as a PC version but as far as I can see there is only one TH8RS so I've ordered the one at £65 instead of £165 ;-)

Fingers crossed the order comes though!

Looks like a smart bit of kit...

Cheers

They've always advertised it as one for PC and one for PS3, but they are one in the same .....The PS3 one was out of stock when getting mine and a friend reminded me that the TH8RS is compatible on both and to order the in stock PC version 👍

There is just NO comparison between the TH8RS and any of the current Fantec shifters. It's really quite excellent.

If you shop around, you can find some really nice deals on this shifter, look for coupon codes as well. :D I Purchased mine for something like $110 after shipping.

Yes and no... ;) Originally I didn't want to use an external supply and investigated several options. However, for the safety of the wheel electronics it's best to power the device externally. When I was working out how I was going to handle this a friend of mine said "Why don't you just use the USB power from the console? They all have ports already..." Brilliant! So, the answer is... The device is powered via a USB cable that you plug into your console. This same USB cable and port are also used to update the firmware on the device. The device will come with a 6 foot USB cable.

As a side note... I plan on providing regular updates as I add support for different shifters. Really any USB shifter should work with it as long as it's supported by the firmware, if it's not, it can be added.

This is awesome news, Mr Basher.
I will definitely keep my eye on your progress with getting this ready for shipment.

I think I speek for a lot of us (certainly CSW owners) that we feel like it could take another half year at the very least until we get the CSS. In the mean time having the TH8 offers only half a solution for us as it is only PC only. So this would definitely be a life safer for at least another half year till a year (depending on if you'd want a first batch product or not from Fanatec).

.

That's ideal, I was going to suggest using a USB cable to power it if need be!

I've a wheelstand pro so I can run another cable alongside my existing one for when I'm using the wheel with the ps3/pc.

Can't wait I get this up & running :-)

Cheers

i would really be interested in the g25 shifter to pwts adapter, was wondering if the g25 buttons would mimmick the buttons on the wheel or would they be as extra buttons? also would sequential on the g25 shifter work too?

With the G25/G27 adapter, the buttons won't do anything when connected to the wheel. This is because the wheel only understands gear information through it's shifter interface. However, the shifter can be plugged into the PC instead at which point the buttons will work. The sequential mode will work on the Fanatec wheel and it will switch when the shifter is put into sequential mode. I'm also planning on allowing users of the G27 shifter to manually select this mode. This will allow people using the "rubber band" trick on their G27 shifter to emulate sequential mode.

Quick service from amazon - my shifter has arrived already! Mrbasher, I want my basherboard now!!!!!!!! :-D

The shifter is a real quality piece of kit, I guess I can use it a bit on some old pc stuff I have until the adapters are ready but I'm looking forward to a bit of forza 4 & horizons with this.

Cheers

Lol, well I can tell you they are apparently on an airplane at the moment. :)

Great news! I'll eagerly await an update (and pray to the gods of aviation for a swift and safe passage!)

My lowly CSR shifter just isn't as appealing to play with now...

I have received my TH8RS too, it's nice quality, CSR shifter is shifter for children compare to the TH8RS.
I'm waiting for you too master.......:-)

Is this the droid you're looking for? :D Fresh off the "assembly line." The SFA1

Nevermind cluttered desk... I'm busy ;) These just need some finishing touches and I will release them this week. Sorry to be such a tease.

Thanks guys! I really like how it turned out. Not too bad considering... The top and end panels are cut using the CNC machine I built. :)

It's not easy to see there but it's roughly 2.5" by 3.5"

Neat looking module. I'm really considering getting one.
Are you ready to take orders ?? ;)

Just let me know where the line forms! Can't wait mrbasher, the SFA1 looks nice and unobtrusive. Thanks for your efforts 👍.

Looks great! I to will be wanting one. I bought the csr ss with my csw gear, mounted and used it for the first time yesterday. It was a bit of a disappointment. But if I hadn't of already used a TH8 I might of liked it. So noisy and toy like. I love how tidy your adapter looks, a very professional job. Any Idea of pricing/shipping yet?

Good job Mrbasher. I actually registered for GTplanet because of this post. And as soon as you go into production, I will be making a purchase. This looks like a quality product, and if it works like intended (I have no fear of this), this will be excellent money spent.

Thanks again guys. :) I hope to put a video up in the next day or so.

I do have the pricing worked out... However, due to the cost I'm thinking it would be best to provide better international shipping than USPS First Class. I use this for my lower priced products but I'd hate for something like this to get lost. Because of this I will most likely need to increase the price a little for international orders to cover that. (I include the shipping cost in the price)

It was a hard decision to make... I run fine lines between this being a hobby, covering my costs and providing my products at what I feel are fair prices. I also hate having to charge international customers a premium simply because of shipping. I guess that's just how it goes though.

On a related side note, A LOT of my orders are international, specifically the UK. Boy you guys like your racing games! :D

Stay tuned... I know you want a price but I'm not going to post it here in the thread. When they are ready it will be obvious and the price will be up on my site. :)

Here's a good size comparison shot.

Thanks for the update. Sure hope you are going to be well stocked. Seems like everyone is chompin at the bit..including me.

Well... This initial order wasn't that many for a few reasons, the main one being my available funds. ;) However, lead time is fairly short now that the design is proven to work, etc. If there is a wait, it won't be long.
