They have ruined these events...the first two sets were very good, you had restrictions and even at best set up they were challenging. OK, some people didn't like that (casuals), so they lifted the limits, but still you could have challenging races without overtuning. But now...wtf even with stock car they are easy, that's bollocks.

I'll do the last one for money, but if its the same Alfa from the Touring Special event, Im still having nightmares of extreme tail happyness :(

It's all in the first post:idea:

I read every post... except the first one, properly.

Thanks...

I see at least 5 interesting cars I do not own yet :D

That's a bummer dude! I quite like these new bonus races. Easy money! If you want a serious race, go online and cry about it there! cheers.

Ok, then, in summary, to make it challenging:

Edited (thanks Gaiajohan):

Schwimmwagen: New Transmission with a 150km max & 60hp engine
Peugeot: Stock
TVR: Stock
8C: Stock
DTM: Stock

What do you think?

Well without SRF I couldn't get the TVR stock. It's kinda challenging with some aero updates.
Peugeot is piss easy stock
Schwimmwagen needs some upgrades, but definately no sport soft. I think the tranny, turbo and ecu is enough.

89C and DTM haven't done yet, but should be doable stock.. FDorm what I've heard..

Happy about these! Got the M3 already, just a shame I RM'd my Tuscan so I'll have to buy another one. Think I'll buy the Mercedes too :)

what do you think is the best car for the japanese pre 80's time trial.

the dome zero or a 67 skyline? maybe a 2000gt?

Just had a look and the old VW you win is different to the one you need for these seasonals? It cost 625000 to buy and then you will probs have to spec it up a bit just to get 800000 back? Is it really worth it?

I loved the DTM Nurburgring one, the TVR was cool but I was most excited for Monaco and it turned out to be rather boring. Also, as the car was so slow I was looking at the track details and that track is pretty bad looking, I think that is why it doesn't appear in ASPec mode much.

The first one, with the Volkswagen jeep thingy, that was just bloody annoying and boring!

I cannot compliment PD enough for these bonus races. I am driving cars that I likely would not have driven otherwise, and I am getting plenty of rewards for completing the races. I just hope they keep the content coming week after week. I want to own and drive as many of the 1000 cars in the game as possible, but I do not have a lot of time to grind to get enough $$$ in the first place to buy the cars. But for Bonus Races 3 and 4, I probably would not have been able to get the $5 million in credits that we need to buy the top car in the game, the Formula Gran Turismo. After buying that last night, and all the cars I need for Bonus Races No. 5, I still have $4 million in the bank.

For those of us that want more challenge, just refrain from tuning the cars, or at least limit the tuning options. If the races are ungodly hard from the get go (i.e. - the intermediate Top Gear track race), then those of us that suck at videogames will not get to enjoy the races. PD has struck the right balance here and I hope to see more of this in the future.

Well I beat all the seasonal events already. Had a little fun with them I guess. Most favourite would have had to be the TVR race. I was kinda upset to see another European touring race. Did not enjoy that at all, I got gold in it, but it was too close to the A spec event.

even you break even (money-wise), you still earn a car and XP, with slight mod, you should have ~ 100K back.

Since this game is now Call Of Turismo. I think we deserve a double XP Points weekend for A-Spec and B-Spec. But until then, I hope these seasonal events continue. I can't wait to run that VW

No matter what I do I can't seem to win at the first race with the Schwimmwagen. Upgraded the engine, ECU (does it even have an ECU in real life?!), and turbo, and done all three weight reductions, and yet I still keep slipping further and further back in the race.

Any tips as to how I can win it easily? :grumpy:

Perhaps you forgot to adjust the transmission? When I first tried it, it wouldn't go faster than 100km/h. After playing around with the transmission, I was able to make it go up to 160km/h... Also, be very careful in curbs, this car tends to flip very easily... Good luck!

I haven't touched the transmission - I honestly have no idea what to actually do to tweak it, lol. I mean, I know where to find it, I just dunno what settings do what.

worst seasonal events yet imo :(

bad pay compared to the price of the cars

also i got a yellow/black FGT in my online dealership which sucks.

Ahhh! Then that's it then! Play around with its full customizable transmission. There isn't much to play around with anyways... Just one setting to play around with. :) It's in those settings that the top speed is limited to 100km/h. Make it go a little faster and voila!

Just in case you don't know where to do it... Before you click on *Start race*, go into the settings button, and then transmission. That's where you'll be able to change the settings.

Got it. 3rd place, yay!

I think I might upgrade the tires next....see if that makes a difference, lol.

These seasonals were so disappointing.. could be done with your eyes closed :/

The thing I like most about the Seasonal events is every time there are new ones, I get a new "most absurd thing I've done in the game".

NASCAR at the Nurburgring
The "Pimp My Prius" race
The MiEV race
Now the Schwimmwagen.

I think it proves the developers have a sense of humor.

There's gonna be a go kart shootout at Daytona. I can *feel* it.

Btw can u tune a kart?

Btw can u tune a kart?

Nope, just the transmission setting. I agree with the post you quoted too. The i-MiEV race was hilarious but it was actually kind of fun sliding that buzzing electric car through Deep Forest and watching the speedometer as it went up and down inclines.

Given that the only truly quirky race in A-Spec is the Samba Bus race, those events (Prius, iMiev, Schwimwagen...) are some of the most interesting races I've had in GT (or any racing game, for that matter) for a loooong time.

Otherwise, I have to create my own challenges... Pick-ups at Laguna SECA in the Midget II, anyone? Totally winnable with just 100 hp. :D

I hated the Prius... loved the iMiev and this "swim wagon". Even bought a FC suspension to add camber and watch it drive along with -2,8 in all 4, lowered to the max.

But only around 60bhp, to keep it "competitive" :D

I hate the Nurburgring GP track. I cannot seem to drive it and the Lexus IS-F handles like a boat on it.
