Nothung else is done to the car and I can't remember if I did an oilchange, so install the above parts and see if an oilchange is needed to reach the hp limit.

Aversge laptime: 1:42.XXX.
First lap around 1.44-45 because of traffic.

Good luck!

First try with this tune using a Dualshock 3 garnered a silver for me. Thanks. I will hammer down the back end a little more to give me the twitchy dancing car feeling I like and try again. This Focus tune saved me many attempts.

Can you post a video of your replay? I can't get anywhere close to 1:42. My fastest is 1:46.

If anyone is having issues with the RX7, here's what I used:

I used the '02 RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) from the new car dealership.

Aero - got front/rear spoiler, max rear downforce

Mods: (DON'T CHANGE THE OIL)
All weight reduction: Stage 3, window, hood
Chassis Reinforcement
ECU, Stage 3 engine tune
Sports Intake Manifold
Sports Exhaust Manifold
Sports Catalytic Converter
Sports Exhaust
Custom Transmission
Twin-plate clutch
Semi-racing flywheel
Adjustable LSD
Carbon driveshaft
Custom Suspension

Transmission: top speed 240 km/h (about 149 MPH?)
LSD : 40/60/5
Brakes : default (5/5)

Suspension settings:
Ride Height : -10 / -10
Spring Rate : 12.6 / 10.5
Dampers (E) : 5 / 6
Dampers (C) : 5 / 6
Anti-Roll Bars : 3 / 4
Camber : 2.5 / 1.5
Toe : 0.00 / 0.10

This was 1st place on 2nd try (screwed up first race) - won easily, I was setting 1.01 to .59 per lap, I think the first lap was 1.02.something

Car has good turn-in, lift off oversteer is good but not overly done, good on corner exit as well. Could be better as always, if you find something that works better for you, let me know.

I have one for the Mustang but it was pretty sketchy winning so I'll not post it.

I'll have to retry the Focus with that tune, I gave up and took 2nd.

Got all gold in series 1 seasonal, I'm RICH!

Is the Spirit R better (lighter?) then the Bathurst? The best I can get with SRF on is 2nd using the Bathurst, but its no where near the weight limit (too heavy).

I think it handles better (stiffer chassis), has more power stock, and you're able to fit a front spoiler (I don't think you can on the Bathurst) - but in NONE of the RX7's was I able to get near the weight limit. If anyone knows of any RX7 that you can actually use for this event that is closer to the weight limit, that would be helpful for some.

I won the event by 10-12 seconds in any event in this car, there is more laptime to be had as well I'm sure, but it is easy to drive at least.

Taken from this thread. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=149568&highlight=seasonal+event

Shift gear at most at 6000 rpm. 6200 maximum in first and maybe second gear.
Brake Balance 3/10 or 3/9. The front wheels are already too much loaded as they are, this help redistributing the load to the real wheels which otherwise would be most of the time cold.
Aero settings: 0/10 (0/5 could be probably a better choice. Or no wing at all)
Ride height -20/-20.
Spring stiffness 12.0/9.8 . This is based on a 55:45 car weight distribution including the pilot.
Damper (bump/rebound) 7/5 front and 5/6 rear
Stabilizers 1/4
Toe 0.0/-0.65 <- rear toe out helps big time. Possibly more can be useful too.
Front toe has to be a trade off between grip at corner entry or corner exit, so I set it at 0.
Camber 2.5/2.0 (although without detailed tire temperatures there's no way to tell what is the optimal setting. this seemed good to me, could be probably better).
LSD: 10/15/5
Gear setting: the minimum speed setting which allows to reach in practice mode top speed at about 6000 rpm on Madrid. Sorry, I don't remember exactly what I set and can't turn on the PS3 right now.

I was able to run as quick as a 1:42.2 with this setup, but during the race I actually won my flying laps were in the 1:42.5 - 1:43.5 range. Your opening lap pretty much needs to be down in the mid 1:44's to have a shot at 1st. I was able to make the pass for the lead in the final hairpin.

Thanks for the tune on the RX-7, I have not gotten 1st yet, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel. And for the car not wanting to turn try increasing the front rebound and lowering the rear rebound. Also 1 click lower on front ARB wouldn't hurt.

1:38-1:39 in the mustang???

Whilst it doesn't actually take a lot of additional apex speed or much earlier throttle input to make a big improvement I don't see that without skid recovery thats for sure.

1:40 flat with no aids except ABS 1, overweight by 100kg, near max power, all upgrades; and that's on the edge. Maybe there's half a second on a fluke. But nothing like 1.5-2 secs per lap. I've only taken it to that level because of the necessity for consistent sub 1:41 laps in order to win the event (legal laps of course).

Edit. Even the suggested tune (without testing) is going to make that car tail happy when it comes to the front-to-rear balance. Especially on the exit of the final turn where wheelspin can cost a lot of time. I'll try it tomorrow but I expect the car to plant excessive weight on the outside tires and understeer even more than it does "stock". Where I arrived at resulted in better turn-in response, less understeer mid-corner, and (with use of the LSD) less loss of traction in slow corners.

Anyone every notice that when you first start it shows you 15+ seconds behind the leadser, but then after completing the first lap it's around 46 second??? I love how 90% of the car on track are AWD platforms.

I am still trying to break into the 1:00:xx range with the best of 1:02:xx. Are you guys using traction control? I never use any of the aids other than 1-4 on the ABS.

I managed to pull a 1:41.05, without ABS, TCS, SFR, anything.. Bone stock with flywheel/clutch.... Oh, and that was with a dualshock 3 lol..

Too bad it took me over an hour to finally pull off 1st place... But I DID! lol :) best of luck to ya bud! Cheers!! 👍

I never use TC, I'm almost always slower with it on - you mentioned you had issues on turn in - that sounds like you're braking too late - the car really rolls through the corners well, and rotates off throttle - try braking a little earlier, and then turn in, letting the car slow itself down while your off the brakes.

This is of course on a wheel, I don't know how anyone drives with a six-axis : )

edit: also, make sure aero is turned all the way to 28 - It gets out of the corners better.

Try this for the Nascar bonus event:

Aerodynamics 50/70
Transmission 360 Km/h
LSD 30/50/20
Ride height 0/0
Spring rate 11.2/10.0

Dampers Compression 3/2
Anti-Roll Bars 5/1
Camber Angle 2.8/1.0
Toe angle 0.00/0.15
Brakes Balance 7/6

The default setup is way too stiff for Nuerburgring Nordschleife, the car handles likes a brick with that, bounces everywhere.

Excellent setup. I won by a good 7 seconds. BTw, it does help to turn on Skid Recovery.

If you want a bit more Challenge in the Mini event then try the "Mini ´07" stock without any modification ;)

Easy money^ 👍 Did that, without a problem... I think I had 1st by the second before last lap.. lol :) STOCK. no aids. Dualshock 3 controller. 'Nuff said. lol :sly:

Sure, lemme re-do it again, and do that for ya.. Because, I never saved the replay. LOL. Ps, what's 'OLR'?? Sorry, this is like my 6th post here... :) Thanks!

Cutting the chicanes or "shorting" the track at any point is strictly prohibited on all parts of the track, including the asphalt-areas in behind out-of track-lines.

Colliding with or using walls, fences or other obstacle is forbidden, whether time is gained or not. All times submitted must be 100% wall free unless otherwise stated in the Race Specifics section of any given event (multiple lap races where allowances are made for errors).

Two wheels (except when airborne, where the vertical projection of the car onto the track counts) must be in contact with the track/circuit which includes the rumble strips and footpaths, but not grassed areas.

Gotcha. Yup, looked up the online racing rules/regs, just after my last post... lol. I just searched 'OLR'.. :dunce: :dopey: ROFL

But, yup not a prob Bob! I'll post it later! Thanks!!!

Yeah, I raced the mini stock as well, no mods, and got 1st on my 1st try. Thought that was an easy one. The Focus race, however, I haven't done better than 2nd on. Still yet to try the tune posted in here, but I had no chance stock. Also, I am SURE I was redlining the car when shifting, which I'm sure cost me a few seconds.

I'll help... Tap the e-brake (while decelerating, or even through the apex, with the gas ON), to bring the rear around the corners, when you're having troubles on some parts of the track or on a certain lap, if you're not happy with the entrance coming into the corner... Because, what MAKES it or BREAKS it, with the Focus ST challenge, is to carry your speed through the corners properly, and to come OUT of the corner carrying the most speed.

Lol, well, same goes for ANY race, any track, and any CAR... but, even more so, with this one in particular.

Good luck mate! Cheers!! :) 👍

Kingping326, you should post your RX7 challenge tune from your youtube video here! I tried 3 different tunes on various RX7's from other tuners and yours with the Bathhurst R was by far the best setup. I even managed to get 0.58 lap!

Cheers
