If anyone is having issues with the RX7, here's what I used:

I used the '02 RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) from the new car dealership.

Aero - got front/rear spoiler, max rear downforce

Mods: (DON'T CHANGE THE OIL)
All weight reduction: Stage 3, window, hood
Chassis Reinforcement
ECU, Stage 3 engine tune
Sports Intake Manifold
Sports Exhaust Manifold
Sports Catalytic Converter
Sports Exhaust
Custom Transmission
Twin-plate clutch
Semi-racing flywheel
Adjustable LSD
Carbon driveshaft
Custom Suspension

Transmission: top speed 240 km/h (about 149 MPH?)
LSD : 40/60/5
Brakes : default (5/5)

Suspension settings:
Ride Height : -10 / -10
Spring Rate : 12.6 / 10.5
Dampers (E) : 5 / 6
Dampers (C) : 5 / 6
Anti-Roll Bars : 3 / 4
Camber : 2.5 / 1.5
Toe : 0.00 / 0.10

This was 1st place on 2nd try (screwed up first race) - won easily, I was setting 1.01 to .59 per lap, I think the first lap was 1.02.something

Car has good turn-in, lift off oversteer is good but not overly done, good on corner exit as well. Could be better as always, if you find something that works better for you, let me know.

Wow - this was simply a ninja-tune. Won second time - first time had a high speed lift off oversteer moment on 2nd or 3rd lap so just restarted.

Was doing 56/57 second laps without any issue and I won by 25 seconds, passing the 1st place guy on the first corner of the seventh lap! I would have won by more but I was going for a 55 second lap on the last circuit and I had another lift off oversteer moment = 1:05 lap. Bah.

Hats off to you, fella 👍 - and no, I didn't use SRF :)

All restrictions on Seasonal events 2 have been removed with the update to add events 3. Why why why? Don't GT realise that working within restrictions is what all forms of motorsport is about. In deed they are the tool which allows racing to take part to a budget.

My son and I have had a great deal of fun and some frustration in the last few days trying to do well in these seasonal events, and indeed we found this forum in doing so.

Yes they could have done with a tweek to the restrictions, eg. I had 2 newly aquired cars ruled out because of an oil change, my new mini went to 175 bhp vs the 172 bhp limit originally in place. and a similar story on a second hand RX-7, No way to get them back under the limit so credits wasted.

But removing the restrictions is crazy. On the mini race I had only managed 6th with the out of the showroom mini on comfort soft tyres, I've just gone on now, used my original mini with 240bhp and racing tyres and won by half a lap. where is the fun in that?

There are far too many unrestricted races and races where eligible car lists are wrong in GT5 eg I was surprised to see I could have entered the DTM event with an Audi r8 lms, and people saying they have used a veyronne in a euro Hot hatch race, I thought I was pushing it in my BMW z4 M series coupe.

Thanks to all for the great set ups for these seasonal events, crz, nascar, rx-7 dodge etc.

Thank god, now I can win the stupid NASCRASH event using soft tires and i am no longer screwed by the oil change issue. My guess is based on the data collected PD realized your average driver could not win these events without using the SRF cheat so they lifted the regs which were too tight. Granted taking off ALL restrictions is silly, but I can limit myself if I really want a challenge.

What is the SRF cheat?

"Skid-Recovery Force" under driving options. It's not a cheat, but I don't use it either :P
Turning it on is like driving on "Standard Physics" in prologue.

Put on racing softs ; increase the hp with modifications($); only aid abs 1; placed first first time.

All restrictions on Seasonal events 2 have been removed

meaning that before you could not increase hp; change tires used; reduce weight; etc. Now you can so no restrictions

Wait, wait....I just finally did the RX race and got gold by a mile. I switched the tires from Sports hard to racing soft. I thought, "Oh no! I've been using the wrong tires for this event." I thought, "Oh that's why I haven't been able to hit the '59's and 58's people talked about."

So, I won because the removed the restrictions? :(
