Seasonals are getting disappointing

I wish they'd give us some better seasonal and endurance races. a 20-50 lap race with classics, compacts, sports, all with more competitive PP restrictions. and lots of rally/drift/one make stock races in the seasonal events. Maybe some goofy ones like drag races between under 50hp cars.

I haven't even thought of doing the endurance races as I don't really feel like running a track for 2-4 hours when I can do all the seasonal events again in the same amount of time and get a lot more cash :sly:

Endurance races pay buckets more in fun. Just wish there were more of them of reasonable length( :30 - 4:00 ). Speaking of race length... Why does Bob get to drive for so much longer than me? He should be the one doing the stupid 5 lap sprints!

It'd be nice to have ALL the special events of GT4 again, even if they're only seasonals. I loved the tight road circuits and the rally cross courses, I f:censored:ing hated the 5 second penalties though, because they were too hard to pass. Still they were good fun.

I don't think enough people complain about it, most people complain about wanting ''all standards to premium'' or ''the sound sucks'' or whatever. I hope PD do something about A-Spec soon, but I fear they're more worried about online bugs and making DLC cars.

So far they've only converted one standard car into a premium and the sound still sucks so I have no idea what PD is actually working on.

Well they are constantly tuning the sound.. and working on it. They're also creating DLC cars, but no A-Spec extensions at all.

Doooood...you've got to make your own fun.....just finished re-running the Stars and Stripes with my Silverado......:D

Viperbeatsvette
It gets to the point where I try and see what the slowest car possible to beat Nurburgring world circuit challenge is. So far my slowest to win has been a viper ACR. My Subaru doesn't have the straight line performance, GTR is lame. My next attack will be something like an Audi RS6 avant or Mercedes C63

C63 was 10.7 seconds off! That back straight is a killer against road cars

NEW seasonal and guess what? No freaking A-Spec again for 3 damn weeks!! What a bunch of BS.

My thoughts exactly... I'm very, VERY pissed off :grumpy:

It wouldn't be that bad if we had the old seasonals... but since PD decided to delete almost all of them without any warning... :nervous:

Seriously PD... WHAT THE 🤬 IS UP WITH YOU????

There's a pattern you know.. A spec seasonals will come next week. It goes Time and Drift trials one week, A spec the week after, and finally B spec the week after that, then it starts over again.

The pattern is crap. It didn't used to be like that. Also we just had TT and DT- we should have A-Spec now, not next week.

Yep, I've been noticing that lately. They never seem to come all at once anymore.

Besides, it's not like the next ones won't be chase the damned parking rabbit in 8-10 minutes or anything. Exciting, I can hardly wait.

Well times change, no matter how crappy you think the pattern is.. Good things come to those who wait right? *insert generic GT5 delay joke here*

4 things:

- More competitive A-Spec
- Longer races
- The ability to choose your opponents' cars
- More utilization of classes

Wrap it up in a 'Pro Driver Pack' for $3 or just as spec 3.0 (or 2.05).

We just had TT and DT- So no you're pattern is wrong.

Well before that, the pattern had been happening for quite a few months, the last Trials were added because of an update for whatever reason, and they broke the pattern. I think we'll see the pattern continue yet again, just watch ;)

Hopefully they'll break pattern completely.

And stop giving us seasonals at all??

They're actually putting up new ones more frequently than they had been for quite a while. At least this way there is something new to do basically every week.

The "races" are really just a means of making money anyway, although I can't resist the urge to make them so stupid hard that I can't win more than one or two races in a night of trying. I've only just today finished up to Stars & Stripes actually, so much other stuff to do... most of which doesn't earn money it seems.

At this point I have the Car Collector trophy, all the high end cars and most of the low-end ones too except for some of the Kei cars and MX-5 variants. So money's quite beside the point at this juncture, far as I'm concerned. I want some new races with which to test many of the to-date unused cars in my garage. With the lack of anything new A Spec-wise since the posting of the last challenge races, I've been running Arcade mode a bit more, usually 10-lappers in pro with real grip reduction and fuel/tire use. Those are fun and the AI is at times surprisingly competitive, but they can be cumbersome to set up. I've also started revisiting some of the special events -- finally cracked the Top Gear Lotus challenge over the weekend and will likely soon have a go at finishing the rally and Vettel challenges.

I actually like one of the events this week! The Sarthe Drift event was surprisingly fun. I ran my ACR and kept a solid draft for about 80% of it :D!

I think we are going to get a load of a spec championships in one go to replace all the ones we lost without being told we were loosing them by the way kaz grrrrr

No I meant just A-Spec.. better A-Spec, and forget the B-Spec and DT.

We need some longer seasonals... Like mini enduros... 10-20 laps... or even some endurance races.

Yup with tire wear, a pit stop, adjustable (aggressive) AI, etc.. It could be so much fun. I'm so frustrated w/ GT5, Kaz, and PD right now! :grumpy::indiff:

I'm a huge GT5 supporter but I must say I agree with you in the case of seasonals. I want the old ones back!

I was looking forward to the update today and I get home to find that all we get is a poxy DT & TT, not even an OCD update. We haven't had an A-Spec since 17th Jan!!

I have to agree with the general gist of the thread. I am too old to be a 'fan boy' but I do think GT5 is fantastic ... however. Those that say everyone should be grateful for anything etc etc - here are some solid facts: As of last week GT5 has sold 7.13 million units worldwide. Although I paid full price for mine, lets allow for discounts and round each game off at $50.00 - believe that is more than fair. Thats $356,000,000 dollars. Lets now take 3 years (which I think is generous) for develpment of GT6. That is $119,000,000 per annum; divide that into 52 and PD have $2.28 million dollars per week gross at their disposal. Bottom line: they can well afford to be more vigilant and compliant of the wants of people like myself who have reached the 2000 car limit have been lvl 40 in both A and B spec for at least 6 months and rely on the seasonals for my fun. The TT's don't even turn the UCD over for goodness sake - that just makes no sense at all. Much as I love GT5, if they dont come out with some major A-Spec overhaul in the near future I will be dragging out Formula 2010 again and the unspeakably bad Shift 2 just for some variety.

I am ok with you up to this point.

Lets now take 3 years (which I think is generous) for develpment of GT6.

Really?! Only 3 years? Ok, I guess I will give this one.

That is $119,000,000 per annum; divide that into 52 and PD have $2.28 million dollars per week gross at their disposal.

Now you are waaay off. What about the store's share? Sony's share? Taxes? Cost of discs, packaging, shipping, distribution, etc (small, but it adds up)? PD are lucky if they made $100,000,000 total from GT5. And this doesn't count the cost of developing GT5 for all those years, unless you think that they got 100% of the money from the sales of GT4, TT, and GT5 Prologue and that was enough.

Bottom line: they can well afford to be more vigilant and compliant of the wants of people like myself who have reached the 2000 car limit have been lvl 40 in both A and B spec for at least 6 months and rely on the seasonals for my fun.

Congratulations on your progress, but its not PDs fault you finished the game. I am actually happy with the seasonals. What other game continually adds free content? What about racing online? I have more fun online that with anything else in the game.

The TT's don't even turn the UCD over for goodness sake - that just makes no sense at all.

For those of us without all the used cars, this is a good thing. Would hate to find that car I have been looking for (VW Nardo for me) and then have it gone once I get enough credits to buy it.

Much as I love GT5, if they dont come out with some major A-Spec overhaul in the near future I will be dragging out Formula 2010 again and the unspeakably bad Shift 2 just for some variety.

Other than the seasonal (which I still believe we are luck to get so much of) I wouldn't expect any other A-Spec changes until GT6.

I hope you don't feel like I am picking on you, I just disagree with some of your opinions and I think you might have written about the money that they received without thinking about all the others taking their share.
