Not such a bad thing, really....

Seasonal changes.jpg

Huh, means they are putting in half the work they were before. The half-wit janitor they had assigned the seasonal races has found a better gig. Now the janitor's stand-in gets the assignment. You still get to win a car when the new races come out, only it will now be longer between new races. I have some bridges for sale, step right up, don't get miss out...

It can't take too much time for a staffer to set up an event, Monday morning they can pick them, a few hours testing then roll out to the server Wednesday night. Is every week such a burden?

I agree Pd needs to put more effort in their seasonals theyre kind of crap at the moment.

At least it means more events at a time with better prizes.

This sounds good - to each their own, but in my case prize cars and credits don't lure me anymore - fresh events always do. In a sense it seems like we have a free subscription to A-Spec events that help us keep immersed in the A-Spec side of the Game. Personally, too, because my time is limited, a fortnight to enjoy (and complete) all the events is difficult for me and I was disheartened at missing out on events. A month gives me a better 'gaming period' - what with all the other stuff that the Game has that lures me away from A-Spec.

For instance I was totally immersed in the last Beginner and Intermediate Seasonals and only had a couple of hours at the Expert last night. I enjoyed this foray at Sierra so much - and only trying out one car, the Peugeot VGT. It was the first time I had driven this car as was thrilled at its performance. The rabbits were hilarious. I finally managed P8, but had to quit. I was so impatient to get back to it - but . . . time never stands still.
I'm glad for the extra time.

To make it more exciting they promise more events - and I hope more complex events engineered to test a variety of our driving and racing skills as well as force us to use usually ignored cars and tracks.
The introduction of some online B-Spec Seasonals, too, (if that ever happens) would be more than welcome by quite a few players.

Creative? No this proves they really don't care to put any effort into it at all. They just told us "we will now devote half the effort into this we were devoting before". I don't see where you could find any positive spin to this. They will put out 50% of the races & leave them up twice as long, what part of this doesn't compute? They basically told us that we were not worth their time. It doesn't matter how they try to spin it, they are going to do less & leave it up longer.

Well lets see until about next month. If its basically the same seasonal batch only twice as time period, then GT6 is pretty much shot itself in its head.

The game is coming up to 2yrs? They must have stats showing how many people have this game, how many people who are still playing seasonals. I reckon its dropped like a cliff.

I'm sure they are changing it because they needed all hands on deck so gran turismo 7 can come out before the PlayStation 6 is released.

In all seriousness I'm curious how much effort it takes to make a seasonal. You think it should take almost no time to add seasonals once you figure out restrictions and track you want to use.

I'm sure they have a wizard based program that spams up seasonals in seconds.

However I feel its more like they are trying to get the GT6 audience to accept that the game is at the end of its life so less content is normal and to get ready for GT7.

I'm sure if they continued standard service and then suddenly cut it there would be more arguments.

But at this point, they know what Gt5 did at the end so why would they care too much about GT6, already a legacy game on a legacy platform.

Does the waiting for updates and course maker isnt enough for them?

They say less often, but more events with better prizes, shouldn't be much of a change if that's the case then. The main issue has been the quality of the seasonal events recently, but this week they've done some interesting events so I hold out hope.

Sounds like they are just extending the life of events while at the same time increasing the number of events to compensate. Likely they'll just take their current 2 week schedule and double it and allow them to run for 4 weeks.

The problem is that the cycle starts now. Its still 3 race events as usual.

I see. Well we'll have to wait and see if the number of events increases next time around or if this is yet another of GT's broken promises. Maybe after 6 months of disappointment we'll get a press release saying, "Ok, remember when we said "monthy DLC"?...ok it's like that...we didn't really mean "more events" we just meant...."..

..... More prizes.

But really, i dont need these prizes. I have all the cars i need and still has about 30 million. Also i suspect they will never prized a standard car, so its kinda useless for me.

I dont know. Its just hard since these weekly seasonals is the norm since GT5. I really hope that PD finally releases the expert seasonal, like what they did in GT5 for a month. I suspect they want to do something different back then, followed by the weekly PP limited A spec, B spec, and time/drift trial in sequence.

And I'm the only one who would want the ability to redo the seasonals and get paid again like in GT5.

But this isn't GT5. I don't really mind the rotation schedule of the GT6 seasonals, just as long as I get a decent amount of money and maybe a car.

If I recall you only got paid once for GT5 TT also, and could keep grinding for cash in the ASpec race seasonals. Same as now, but GT5 had that multiplier for more $ with less PP in the car. That was huge credits.

I have such mixed feelings about GT6 and PD right now. Disappointment in at the top of the list. It feels to me like someone at PD is saying, "the game is almost 2 years old now...the numbers are down anyway, so we might as well focus ALL of our efforts on GT7!" Hey, I want GT7 to be the slickest, baddest, most kickass racing game ever. I hope that PD is working night and day on GT7, insisting on perfection. Yet, at the same time it's like "Hello guys...We're still here! Don't forget about us!!"

It's been over 2 months since we've had a game update. Now they've just reduced the frequency of the Seasonal Events. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come (or not come ).

If I understand the news then we'll have more races offered at the same time instead of just the 3 we get now.

"Although the frequency of the Seasonal Event updates will be reducing with the above changes, we plan to have more events available at each time with increased prizes, such as more in-game credit rewards and the return of popular Gift cars."

Seems good to me once this gets underway. We'll see this upcoming week if more races get released.

If they are to do as they say, then there will be nothing new next Thursday and they will have to extend they availability of the current TT/DT until the 10th which is when they should now be scheduled to release the new batch of events. 👍
