Seasonals going monthly

Yeah, but they let the A spec races expire at Christmas time till they figured it out. These chuckleheads can't get out of their way. If it can be botched they will figure out a way to do it. They shoot themselves in the foot at every chance they get. They need to roll races out on a normal schedule till they have 2 sets of each running for 4 weeks. Then they would actually have more races running concurrently, Otherwise they are just spouting bovine excretment. Which seems to be par for the course lately. I think they are just trying to destroy their user base. They will really need to step up their game to compete with the other games out there, & maybe they aren't up to it.

At this rate Im not so sure Im going to make the substantial investment into gt7, no matter how good it maybe. I feel that we, the customers/fans have been abandoned here and just treated like idiots. The one and only thing that keeps me playing at all are the weekly seasonals. Usually good for half an hour or so of entertainment and sometimes even a bit of a challenge. Now we have to wait a fortnight for what is probably going to amount to basically the same stuff, just a condensed version. Dont know about you lot, but I thought that the seasonals in gt5 were usually quite good, if not at times excellent. Some of the more memorable ones like nascars around London, or Lambo's around the ring or Tokyo were great, and the fact you could go back and refine and challenge them over and over again was excellent. The whole thing just seems to be drifting into extreme mediocrity with little or no real hope in sight. Take for example the "muscle car" challenge. Remember when you were racing Mustangs and Cameros etc, not a Honda etc in sight. Where did it all go so wrong.

100% in agreement.

GT5 was supported with decent content right to the end. Frankly, I also believe that modding kept it fresh. I really hoped for some of that in gt6, because that would have been ac ACTUAL new feature.

We paid full price for content that we paid for again and again with every iteration.

The seasonals could actually be used to make up for gaps in the single player. Add some endurance events. Add some B-spec events. Add some NEW CARS beside VGT's. ANYTHING. It's like they created a seasonal event generator and they have some guy press the make game button once a month.

This is good news.
It shows that they do care about what we say.
Now (hopefully) they will put more thought into each combo. And we get some variety to the events aswell!
I dont get why people complain about this?

Yes but how do you know PD has listened to us? For all you, or we know they could of just said, "Well that's it, GT6 has been out 2 years now so lets focus on GT7 now". Or something like that.

But the way I see things, I don't see why they are doing this. If its going to be the same old recycled seasonals like Le Man cars at Nurburgring and stuff - that is just plain lazy and stupid. But if they give us like a monthly worth of seasonals with big money I see the bigger picture. Could be like an add on to the short career, like giving us endurance races in Seasonal events. But known PD, we will probably just get 3 laps round rome for 100.000cr. or something similar. I don't know - we don't even have Course Maker or not nearly all the VGT`s yet or an update for 2 months now! I don't know about you guys but I think they`ve gave up on GT6.

You said it...HOPEFULLY

Given how little support and communication there's been, why would there be any reason to believe something good is coming from this?

Although, maybe since they won't be messing with the servers as much, there might be more stability.

Next time you'll have to drive the GSX-R/4 @ Streets of Willow for 4 week instead of 2.

Where are the good news?

I have such mixed feelings about GT6 and PD right now. Disappointment in at the top of the list. It feels to me like someone at PD is saying, "the game is almost 2 years old now...the numbers are down anyway, so we might as well focus ALL of our efforts on GT7!" Hey, I want GT7 to be the slickest, baddest, most kickass racing game ever. I hope that PD is working night and day on GT7, insisting on perfection. Yet, at the same time it's like "Hello guys...We're still here! Don't forget about us!!"

It's been over 2 months since we've had a game update. Now they've just reduced the frequency of the Seasonal Events. I hope this isn't a sign of things to come (or not come ).
In all honesty, how many game developers release a game and then do what PD had done with their last two games? Most developers release a game, maybe patch some bugs for a couple months after, and then move on.

I swear so may ungrateful people.

It may seem that people are ungrateful, but most video game producers that make a series of games don't wait 4 years in between releases. It's likely still over a year until the next gran turismo comes out and there still is missing promised features in this game.

I should be grateful that I purchased a video game based on supposed features that still aren't a part of the game almost 2 years later?

Like the course maker which according to the moderators around here has been delayed for good reason? That's all I can think of.

IF that happens, its bad news.
But I believe they will start with some other events to fill the gap, wich is good news as it adds variety.
But again, thats my belief. It may very well be that they are focusing on GT7 and that seasonals will be worse. But even if that is the case, is'nt it good news? PD working on GT7 is good.

Also, I never do more than 3 hours in any given TT, so it does not mean I have to drive the same combo for longer. But thats just me.

@TRL_Andromeda

I hope you are right.

But i think they just want to spend less time with GT6 to have more time for GT7.
And this means that there are still a lot of things to do for GT7 and they have problems
to achieve their goal for a release before 2017.

Im sad now i forgot about reading this last week. I was hoping to crush some new weeklys. But the positive side is i ran a quick match i suppose. Meh back to another game till next week.

While I'm a bit disappointed that they decide to update the seasonals less frequently now (come on, it can't be that hard to set 3-4 races a week), I'm also kinda relieved because I have been lacking motivation to play GT6 lately. Out of obligation I still do the weekly races but I find them getting more and more boring. Not having weekly updates means I have an excuse not to play GT6 :P

Also, I hope this means they are shifting into high gear for GT7 development. The end result better be good PD *waves fist*

So did anyone still believe seasonal coming out today?
Yes, because of this:D:

Last week it was still this:lol::

But it changed to this:odd:.

So yes, i believed just one more weekly change :dunce: and then it would switch to 2 weeks.

First time poster long time player it seems everyone was so focused on the monthly season they did not see the pink elephant in the room

3) Time Trial and Drift Trial Events:
- Ranking registration times will be changed from “2 weeks” to “4 weeks”.
- Entry periods will be changed from “4 weeks” to “8 weeks”.

So if what pd is saying more events then they would have to add at least 8 TT or Drift events we will see.

I'm sure they are changing it because they needed all hands on deck so gran turismo 7 can come out before the PlayStation 6 is released.

In all seriousness I'm curious how much effort it takes to make a seasonal. You think it should take almost no time to add seasonals once you figure out restrictions and track you want to use.
It must be as easy as selecting an arcade event for us, then to create conditions and restrictions as you would for an online race.

I see it as an interns job.

I agree. Surely it's just a matter of selecting an existing career race and changing a few variables.

If you're reading this, PD, I'd happily do the job for you in my spare time. For free.

2 days until seasonal. What will be, i wonder?
We're due for 2 Time Trial events and 2 Drifting Events...
Godammit. No way. If it turns out to be the same as before going biweekly I facepalmed.

I think they will just double-up and give us 4 of each, but you never know, they could surprise me and give us much, much more.

I don't expect new seasonals tomorrow, because the date they announced to update the seasonals monthly was 27/08.
I expect the first new seasonals over two weeks.
I could be wrong about it.
