I am sure everyone else has spotted this, but the Seasonals are not going monthly, but four weekly according to the news story.
Personally I'm expecting to see something tomorrow.
Everything available on the current list ends on the 24th.
Tomorrow, being 2 weeks before that date, would seem to be a good time to start the new schedule.
They can release some events, sit on their hands for 2 weeks (which falls into the 'every other Thursday' schedule) and then add more when the existing events finish.
Speaking of the 'every other Thursday' thing.
To me, someone has made an error in the news item.
"Race Events
(1) The frequency of updates will be changed from “Every Thursday” to “Every other Thursday”;
(2) The entry period for regular events will be changed from “2 weeks” to “4 weeks”."
Race events always were on a 2 week rotation.
Other wise we would have had 6 Race events available at all times.
I don't recall that being the case.
Anyway, I guess we all know what they mean.
I think they will just double-up and give us 4 of each, but you never know, they could surprise me and give us much, much more.
If there was an alternative to GT i would switch to it and never look back. i've got a PS4 and Driveclub and can't stand the game. haven't played project cars and hesitant to waste any money on that in case i don't like that either.
I can relate. I have a PS4 as well, none of the racing games there even come close to the GT franchise. I bought Pcars and never got into it. For those 60 Euros I could have paid a speeding ticket, that would have been a thrill at least.
I never cared much for GT 6 online either until I joined these guys over at the makeshift shuffle club:

That is really a lot of fun, racing in mostly low-power cars on comfort tires... if you can abide to a few basic rules of racing.

I see the thread. The rules itself made me vomit.few basic rules
Fair enough, I shouldn't have mentioned it.
The news item should read like this ...
From 27 August 2015, the following changes will be implemented to the Seasonal Event updates of “Gran Turismo 6”, available exclusively on PlayStation®3:
The frequency of updates will be changed from “Every Thursday” to “Every other Thursday”.
Race Events
(1) The entry period for regular events will be changed from “2 weeks” to “4 weeks”.
Time Trial and Drift Trial Events
(1) Ranking registration time period will be changed from “2 weeks” to “4 weeks”;
(2) The entry period for regular events will be changed from “4 weeks” to “8 weeks”.
And yes, I was being fussy pointing it out.
It's just disappointing the game isn't updated more. There have only been a couple new cars besides the vision gt cars. It seems wackadoo there isn't a game out for the current generation machine yet, and it's still likely that's more than a year+ from hitting the ps4. I thought polyphony digital had lots of money, doesn't make sense we aren't anywhere close to a new game being released yet.
You mean GT6? Because if 2010 is considered PS3 end of life then GT6 release is basically when PS3 already enters heaven, probably.Considering GT5 was released so late in the life of the PS3, it's not that surprising tbh mate.
LOL!
Had a look and far too many rules, regulations and checks for me. i understand the need for them but i simply can't be bothered with all that. i've been gaming ever since this came out....
Showing my age now lol
I've been into gaming for as long as i can remember, and that was before Star Wars graced the big screen. i simply want to race for half hour to an hour max and then relax. can't be arsed with stupid online twits, and rules and regs just to get a decent race.
Give us a seasonal/race creator, and a track creator and i'm happy.
Edit, and more classic cars
I am quite impressed with the prizes and the amount of credits they give you for getting gold.

No, 5 came very late in the life of the PS3 (considering it was one of Sony's flagship games), 6 years after the PS3 was released i believe. if they were going to release a 6 then they only had a couple years to do it because the average life of a console is 10 years-give or take.
Don't forget GT5 Prologue was dropped in late 2007 for PS3. It was the basic GT5 package. Not quite:
PS3 debuted in late 2006.
GT5 was released in late 2010.
2010 minus 2006 equals 4 years (not 6).
I'm not sure if studios keep producing games for older systems once the next version is released, but 10 years is a little long for an estimated console lifespan. It's more like 5-7 years.
So shouldn't we of got 4 TT and 4 DT?
Doubling up on the number of events is the least I was expecting/hoped to get, 2 of each for road cars and 2 of each for race cars.
I am a bit disappointed and I'm sure many others are too.
Yes, indeed. The news item announcing the change also said,
"Although the frequency of the Seasonal Event updates will be reducing with the above changes, we plan to have more events available at each time with increased prizes . . ."
Well the increased prizes are there, it seems, but imagine my surprise when only 4 events, 2 Time Trial and 2 Drift Trial events showed up. That's what we got before.
