Use a very soft, fine thread shirt as some shirts can do as much if not more damage to a disc than toilet paper (or urin (sp), just sick ). I suggest getting one of those cheap eye glass repair kits (got mine for $1 plus tax)and using the cloth that they give you to clean your discs.

BTW, a disc doctor can do more than a person using there shirt. It gets out the scratches (in most discs)...

I have found a way to fix your cds without buying those annoying 50 dollar cleaning spinning fans..... This sounds crazy but its completely safe.. and it makes ur cd smell minty, or it could smell like a dead rat

1- Get your scratched cd

2- Spit on the cd, only the watery spit that you have, not the thick, slimy one

3- TOILET PAPER! its the most gentlest material available to man, it is REQUIRED that you use this kind of paper..

4- Your CD should be DRIED UP and smelling like ur breath.

5- Stick it in ur PS2.. If it dont work, dont bug me

OMG :dopey: IT WORKED! Hey THANKS!

 wow, remind me not to borrow a CD from the creator of this thread. :scared:

I'll use my CD Cleaner thanks.

On a side note, I remember a classmate using the schools buffer wheel to take out all the scratches... I don't remember if it really worked or not but they do have a product out there that works on the same principle that's pretty ****ty.

I'm assuming you're asking me? If so, I wouldn't chance it since sony uses that special black coating or whatever it is.

I never took my GT-3 out of my machine and it got scratched up real good.
The laser focus moved enough to leave deep scratches in my disc. enough to
render it useless. I went to a PS-2 site and got instructions on how to fix the
problem with the machine. (It was not to difficult if you feel OK with taking
things apart and putting them back together again) I had some other damaged
discs so I bought a Disk doctor and it fixed them all. (even the deep groves in my
GT-3 disc. I had to run the disc through about five times though. I have another
PS-2 in the living room for other games. I play GT-3 at least twice a week. It is
still the best GT game. Finished GT-4 and haven't touched it since.

I never put anything on top of my PS-2. Having seen the internals of my PS-2, It would take a very heavy object to have any effect on it, IE parking your car on it might do it.

Ive read this somewhere, it sounds weird :odd: But for some reason people have been saying they work wonders. Ever heard about the toothpaste thing?

1. Put a light amount of toothpaste on your scratched CD and clean it with any good, clean cloth. It will be as fresh as new. I've never tried this myself. DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.
I know this is and old topic but toothpaste has little granules in it and will scratch your disc to hell. I suggest using a bead-free lotion and terry cloth, new polyester, or a 95/5% Cotton/Spandex cloth using the tecnique that Kent suggested........Or go buy a Game Doc.
Good Luck to you all:crazy:
