Senna content coming soon?

I'd prefer to celebrate his life, not his death.

What's being commemorated is his legacy however and in such cases there's a precise date.

That's how all these commemorations work, including this precise one because it's no coincidence that on May 1 Senna's 20th anniversary and memorial was celebrated in real life and that PD is releasing this content in May 2014, not in March 2011.

BTW he was born in March 21 :P, even more delayed.

Oh and I have to add that the term is not 'promises', as if it was a favor: it's announcements, an obligation. This goes for everything announced thus far, including the bi-monthly DLC for GT5 and monthly DLC for GT6, many pending features and fixes including sound, etc. etc.

You are wrong. He said that "DLC will be continually added online."

It is marked on the official site, search.

It's not on the official site. I have nothing more to say.

But.

This confirms that you lack arguments to criticize Kazu and PoDi (always the same things : "Zahara" and "monthly DLC").

And honestly, I prefer to laugh. Keep it up!

It was announced on a conference, with those exact words. That is an announcement, mind you one that will be seen by much more people than just some website and that comes from the boss himself, Kaz. There's nothing 'more official' and more meaningful than that act in this industry. Furthermore some people already posted that video, others and different sources, discrediting your position about this case.

But you know, more than this specific case the thing is the delays do accumulate over time. If you sum up everything that has been announced over the last 4 years PD is at least 20 tracks behind schedule. Yes it does sound insane, but that's the extent of their over promising and of their internal issues. They really are years behind schedule, yes years, and that's the reason why all their main games for the past 10 years feel so incomplete.

Finally, two things:
1.- Info and photos published on this site's frontpage, on Sony's official sites and in any other any media and in any shape or form, that comes from PD itself is indeed an announcement. They choose to disclose it and for that information to be published on both; it's not secret insider info that PD did not disclose. Furthermore even brochures handled at live events do contain official announcements, this specifically about the official release event of GT6 at Silverstone.
2.- About the latter, it does not help that the insider info published on this site (gtplanet, the biggest fan site of GT games in the world) and on neogaf (biggest gaming forums site in the world) is so exaggerated. Considering that info comes from someone with direct contact with PD such as Amar, it's not good that we expect "to cry tears of joy and manliness (about Senna content)", "hats going to be blown away (by the amount of DLC tracks in GT6)", clearly hinting a PS4 release of GT6 back in 2013, etc. Those actions make the playerbase discontent and is both a fault of himself and of PD, no matter they aren't official announcements. For instance four second-tier cars and no tracks is not impressing me at such said extent by any means -mind you missing the date-, neither 0 tracks thus far and I don't know if it is only me but my GT6 copy somehow runs on the PS3, magic.

They might, but I was referring to your last sentence, as I thought you were suggesting the sounds for those cars came from the Ralt and Lotus.
I'm just guessing, those cars sound a little like the real Senna cars.

To be honest with you, i would prefer the redbull sounds than the "GT Sound".

Brands Hatch in a mid 80s Lotus F1 car. For what its worth, in my opinion, the proper layout from its heyday, Dingle Dell pre-chicane, Graham Hill & Westfield (& Hawthorns?) original versions, the Shell advert in the Paddock Hill bend run off area.

Just a shame Nige is only pootling around

He's doing so because he has a big film camera literally strapped on top of the car, rather than anything close to the attached onboard cameras we have today. It wasn't until 1987 that Nakajima's Lotus regularly had a camera on it and late 1989, mostly on the McLarens and Ferraris, that we had easily mountable cameras similar to the ones we have today.

As a reference, he's got something like this on his car:

Complicated to rig onto an F1 car, but probably a bit better and safer than the good ol' fashioned way:

Ralt F3 - Junior sound
Lotus F1 - X2010-X2014 sound

It will happen, where do you think they got the red bull car sounds from?

Maybe they'll dig through the GT3 archives and give it the sound of the F686/M, F687/S and F688/S?

Good point, hadn't thought of that.

Well he just might be going flat out. One must remember its the 80s. All that extra weight and drag from one of these bolted on his Lotus. Might even tip over.. :scared:

So, do you guys think that PD will allow us to bump the 97T to quali specifications using engine mods and a stage 3 turbocharger?

Would you even dare try it?

Out of the kart and 2 single seaters that are coming, I'm oddly looking forward to driving Senna's F3 Ralt the most rather then the 97T. I feel that the 97T will be really fast and quite scary to drive with big power and very little downforce, and the Ralt will probably be the most enjoyable due to not having colossal power.

If we can, then I wouldn't even second guess my choice of saying yes. :D

I forget, are those the deep sounding ones or the high pitched ones (I don't know how to get rid of the pictures on my phone, sorry).

Deep sounding. Here's the F687/S, which is really Senna's Lotus 99T from 1987.

The cool thing is that you could also get it in the exact same black and gold colour scheme of the 97T and 98T, as well as the yellow colour of the actual 99T it was modelled after. Here's the black and gold scheme, very close to the car we'll be getting in the DLC. It also comes with a yellow helmet (not Senna's design, but the yellow makes it look like it), surely not an accident.

That was cool, but to the person who wanted the sound from GT3 to GT6... No you don 't.

I'm getting really upset. Last night I woke up in cold sweats from having a dream of driving the car. If this delay happens any longer I'm going to send that studio a ton of sweet jams and marmalade so they eat it all way too fast and throw it up all over the floor. They will have to get floor cleaning done, that isn't cheap either.

Unfortunately you might piss them off and they'll instead delay it 7 more months.

Not sure what this all means, but any time you can work marmalade into the conversation it's pretty funny:lol:

Thats what I would like to hear. The one thing about the F1 cars in GT5 was it seemed they had the craziest engine breaking of all time.

Most remarkable thing about that video is Murray Walker made it through a full lap of commentary without a "Murrayism"
