Just to show what Kaz and PD should be able to accomplish (especially regarding sounds):

I hope it doesn't sound like that, that sounds awful and nothing like a turbo V6.

Not too mention how awful the physics look in that vid.

Seriously? To me that sounds awful and nothing like the real thing. Much too clean, actually close to the hoover sound people accuse GT of...
It's not spot on, but it comes close enough (should be a bit lower in tone) but i've got a feeling PD's efforts will be far worse, let's wait and see next week.

Not too far off though:

Physics are quite good, i own the game.

As I've said many times, I'm not really a fan of motorsports and racecars, just a car enthusiast. But damn... Drivers back then were BADASS. H Pattern gearbox, analog displays, I suppose no assists and all those things. And that thing had like what? 900HP? It makes it more obvious how dead and boring motorsports (especially F1) are these days.

Awesome video.

Don't forget the qualifying trim, where they usually bump up the power to over a thousand horsepower. :D

1,300bhp...

...and don't forget the gelled toluene 'rocket fuel'...

Eh. It does a great job of emulating the sound of one of its I4-engined competitors than the V6 it actually had.

PD could probably just alter the tone and pitch of the X2014 to get what they want. Chances are that would be more befitting than what CM could muster, even if the V6 does end up sounding pretty weak. At least it wouldn't sound like it's missing two cylinders.

@mister dog:lol:

Only comparing with another video you will realise, skip to minute ~24 to see action:

This are good physics, on F1 2013 all cars can be driven in the same way, physics are very simple and easy, I don´t have the 90´s DLC but the F1 from the 80´s are nearly the same each other. In addition you can´t use the H pattern shifter with them.

Well let's not get into a F12013 physics discussion here as it's not the place. Physics are 'quite' good or at least i enjoy them enough, but yes i know they are not on par with pc sims ;).

Discussion at hand is the Senna content and the sound of it, just wanted to illustrate with the codies video what the minimum standard is PD need to work towards, for it to sound remotely satisfying. Let's see what they come up with...

^^ really?...You think PD will produce sounds like that?
Then prepare to be sorely dissapointed.
Airblade_Sound_Test_Final.jpg

This just in: PD will add a brand new Dyson to their lineup for sound making for the new cars. Ladies and gentlemen, I present you, the air blade inside the Polyphony Digital sound recording room, it sounds like a vacuum just as PD thinks all cars sound like.

Anyway, I really hope that PD will do this right and actually use real engine sounds like Codemasters did.

I thought that I read somewhere that Codemasters records the noise that the engine makes and not the exhaust audio, which may be why it is different. Correct me if I am wrong.

And the qualifying spec tyres, Turbos and engines. :sly:

I'm still amazed by BMW's M10 4 cylinder making that kind of power with a single turbo running about 5.5 Bar (80 Psi!!)

1350hp was estimated due to BMW's dyno being unable to measure the engine at full boost at the time.

Great vid and very entertaining to watch...."I like the rig so much I can almost brake with my middle leg" he says.:lol::lol::lol:

I see they used the livery you can actually find on some of the real existing cars nowadays. Why did the GT6 model have to have that stupid fake "Team Lotus Special" livery from toy car variations ???

Yeah it looks better and closer to the original, but I'd prefer an existing livery any day over a fake one...

As with the rest of the liveries, they advertise Alcohol and Cigarettes, and a game instantly goes to a Teen or M rating or something because of it. And I guess because it's an update and not DLC, (which DLC is unrated) they can't leave in the JPS logo.
