Senna content coming soon?

Yeah but the fact is, is that the cars were such a major point with him. It'd be like having a Richard Petty DLC with no Superbird/Daytona, or Dale Earnhardt with no #3 Chevy, or Michael Schumaker with no Ferrari.
We all know there are limitations with what you can do with this type of stuff. We already have 3 cars: his kart, his successful Formula 3 car, and his second F1 car. These are mostly grounded in the beginnings of his career. I'd love to have the Toleman and his McLarens but for some reason, we just can't have them and I'm not losing sleep over it or getting angry a PD.

This is ironic because I started to want/desire/drool over the MP4/4 AFTER GT6/Kaz informed me about Senna's greatness. I looked for the info and yeah I thought "damn the McLaren would be awesome!"

At the beginning I was just content that I'll be driving "some classic F1 car" on the Nurburgring.

Honestly I think this is Kaz's great success because I only knew about Senna as "one of those fast F1 drivers from the golden era" - but that was it.

Now I know a lot more. GT6/Kaz showed me who he was and why he was so great. I'm sure there are a lot more people like me. Sure - after you've learned about Senna the lack of McLaren is a disappointment but nonetheless I now know about the man's life and that's what Kaz wanted to do - rise the awareness and not let the man be forgotten.

Whatever we may think about this DLC, he definitely succeeded at this.

Not we. I think of the car he died in. And I don't want it.

I understand why people wouldn't want the car & I totally respect that but for me, I'd like to use the Senna helmet/suit and use the car he died in and complete the race at Imola for him after 20 years. I think that would be pretty dang amazing. But like I said, I understand why the institute and others may not want the car & track out there.

What is going on with this Senna trailer? They, for whatever reason, don't want us to see it, and keep revising it out of the GT universe. First they patched it out of the game, now the YouTube version is private and isn't visible on their channel any more, meaning some people may not actually know what's up with the Senna DLC (unlikely, but it's possible - unless you were a GTP reader or member, you would only have the initial announcement to go off). Surely, therefore, now would be a good time to show a trailer in order to keep the hype up.

I hope there isn't some sort of behind-the-scenes development issue delaying it! :scared:

As much as I'm in the "bad taste" camp when it comes to the Williams appearing in the Senna content, that is a cool thought.

Tree'd by a second! I agree with Vitocorp. Although not in the context of the upcoming "celebration of life" as has been said before. It's a fine line to tread.

then you probably don't remember him for the driver he was. all his World championships and most of his memorable races (including his personal favorite) were with a McLaren.
Actually I don't, since I didn't watch F1 at the time. But I remember how his death was the catalyst for better safety in F1 and motorsport in general so less people died later on. Which I am a lot more thankful for than being allowed to see him get some empty cups.

I don't really know that much about Senna but I'm just happy to get any content, most notably two classic tracks and a cool old Lotus.

It's like someone going to a funeral and demanding that things be worth their time even though it's free.
Best. Analogy. Ever. :D

I'm hoping something has been lost in translation here . I'm using that one the next time I start talking utter nonsense.

Reading this thread is really sad. A bunch of spoiled brats.

Are you sure Funeral is the word you want to use for this analogy?

Ohhh god...you're not being overly dramatic, nope, not at all.

It's a game. It's no funeral, it's no ritual to commemorate the greatness of one of history's best drivers, it's no religious experience, it's no artistic tribute to the whole concept of life and the poetry of motorsports. It's a game that's trying to boost it's sales by joining on the hype bandwagon of a very famous name in motorsport, a name that's very fresh on the collective consciousness and is a huge cash cow.

And of course I'll demand things! It's not a funeral or anything serious like that so why wouldn't I be asking for the stuff I haven't received yet I payed $60 for?

Oh, sorry. I forgot I'm supposed to agree with everything PD does and not have a discussion or voice my opinion on something that I don't necessarily agree about with it.

It's not like I said "we're getting a JPS Lotus? I don't want it, that sucks, I want the MP4 instead"

The thing is...stop being fake moralists, we ALWAYS want more.
This is a racing game, everyone would be excited with extra cars, tribute or not.
For just a moment let's pretend both Imola and the FW16 will be in the game in order to let us players finish the race for him.
You don't want to play with that car on that particular track?
Your choice, I don't blame you, but you'll probably be happy with that extra content...
I agree, some stupid crackpots will have the desire to recreate his last moment (youtube videos with sad music and stuff) and that's really the only 'bad taste' thing.
We are just asking for more content since this BIG cooperation with the Ayrton Senna foundation is giving us less than expected although I must admit I will be happy anyway because let's face it, it's a good quantity of FREE cars and tracks.

If you're at a funeral for someone you care about, I'd imagine you'd want the service to be well-done.

THIS. THIS is an excellent idea.

Senna is gone, but we can keep his spirit and legacy alive. I feel like finishing his final race in the game for him would be a perfect analogy for that concept.

...Though sadly I don't think it'd be possible to do any more than a time trial, since PD doesn't have access to the full grid.

It would be an alright idea. He wasn't exactly immortalized by that crash.

I think people are becoming obsessed with the idea of Imola not because it's a good track, but because a few people said it would be distasteful and people don't like the idea of not being able to have things.
