After the 3 races, could everyone please fill out THIS. Speeds up the stewarding process and means results can be posted faster. I will add the link to the OP as well so you won't have to search for this post. Cheers all.

Also, still waiting on two people to accept my friend requests. I will open the lobby anyway but will have to remake it once they accept.

Will you count me as winning in the 2nd race? Cause I was 5ish seconds in front, in the first race I did pretty consistent times all the way till the end even with Caine pressuring me, to me it seems unfair to not count me as first, if I was 2 seconds or less I would say you've got a point. I had to go cos my parents wanted me out the house and couldn't wait . I will get on with the race reports when I get back.

Had some good and bad races today, had the pace but no consistency! Saw some great battles out there and some close finishes!

:bowdown: to @rcb929, stellar performance mate, pace and consistency! Looking forward to next weekends races!

If everyone could fill out the race form by tomorrow please, I will get onto the stewarding. Cheers all. 👍

Theoretically, you could have spun by putting a wheel on the grass, or had a backmarker hit you too in those few laps you were away too.

Going down this route is a slippery slope as you'd get multiple drivers bargaining for issues out of their control. Should Hamilton gain a few spots because he had to take a phone call mid-race?
What if a driver was leading by a small margin, makes a mistake and turns off his PS3, then claims he had a disconnection?

Going by anything other than the race result screen (+ stewarding) would just leave the series open to all sorts of issues.

I know it feels bad to lose a potential win, but don't forget that there are 24 races to go in this season and based on your pace today you should still be able to win a number of those and be in contention for the title at the end.

I completely understand and That's exactly what I thought you would say that's the only issue and that's why I quoted the first race cos I was under pressure and going for it and didn't spin and I was just sitting out front it's just I don't want to start the series with a second and two non finishes, it just pisses me off so much that I had that race won but wasn't allowed to see the flag, and I was saying before the start to hurry the race up to get it going sooner we took and extra 10 mins but it's just so annoying

Not a bad start to the year for me then, managed to string together my 3 strongest results in my short GTPlanet history in the process.

Pre-Race
  • Did a 20 minute run on Friday evening and managed to get a PB of 17.3 with race pace of 17.9

Qualifying
  • Strung together a 17.2 after 5 laps and then stayed in the pit box once the tyres lost their edge.

Race 1
  • Made a clean getaway and completed the first lap without incident.
    Gained a spot when @Glenalz81 spun off and then kept that position when he spun again trying to catch up.
    After that I was in limbo, too far ahead of the cars behind and not quite quick enough to challenge the 4 up front.

    5th

Race 2
  • Dropped towards the back at the start after getting crowded out of Turn 1, and then went off trying to avoid @rono_thomas.
    That cost me about 15 seconds so I went into "qualifying mode", beating my PB on multiple occasions.

    After a few laps I caught up to drivers and one-by-one, they all started spinning out in front of me, either through driver error or battles with others.
    Towards the end I was able to chase down @SniperRed3 and eventually pressure him into a mistake, which gave me 4th place.
    He then duly spun behind me which made the run to the flag a bit easier.

Race 3
  • Pitted on Lap 2 as I was losing too much time in traffic, then lost 8 seconds by hitting the wall midway through a lap.
    That put me behind @Glenalz81, who I battled with for a few laps before he eventually got away.

    I followed him throughout the race and re-passed others that were pitting before battling with @HAMILTONR towards the end.
    It was quite back-and-forth between us but finally with a few laps to go he made an error and I got away, taking 5th place.

Hopefully I can keep this form up for another few weeks. :)

Still waiting on race reports from:

@SniperRed3
@SmileyWRX
@HAMILTONR

Even if you had no incidents in the races, please could you still fill one out and just put "none" in the boxes. I am allowing some extra time for the first round, as some people haven't done this before. But in future races, if a report hasn't been received within 24hours, a 30s penalty will be added to your weekend (divided up between the races you attended).

Reason being, stewarding is what takes the longest time of each round. If I set a limit of 24hours, this means all reports can be checked and results published by Sunday night, leaving me free during the week (when my time is very limited). It also means the stewards can jump straight to the incidents rather than having to re-watch all 80 minutes of racing. If for any reason you are unavailable from the time the race finishes and won't be able to complete the form within 24 hours, please let me know prior to the event and I will allow you more time, but it doesn't take long to watch the replay back and find the lap number etc.

Cheers to everyone who got theirs in so far. Race 1 results are done, now moving on to race 2.

Just did. Sorry

Round 1 Results
Only one penalty to hand out for this one: +30s to GTP_HAMILTONR for failing to produce a race report.

Pretty lame to hand it out, but like mentioned, I don't have time to hang around. Great job by everyone, a few little bumps on the opening laps but generally very well behaved. Saw a good level of sportsmanship, in-particular Hamilton. It was only a minor tap on RCB but you waited for him, and that was great to see! 👍

Once again, congratulations to RCB and Mamaghi for taking the victories, and a pat on the back for myself taking the fastest lap in all 3 races, just shows what the outcome could have been had I been more consistent!
