Awesome pic is awesome.
Hooray for awesome pics. 👍

Well thanks, hopefully you think similar thoughts for the rest of 'em!

BTW, I now know how you felt when you were trailing me at Suzuka. My Italia was a roadblock through the twisties, and I pulled away from you on the straight. With what I experienced in GATE, I would've understood if you rammed me off course.

I do my best not to ram people on purpose! It was still fun. I should have pitted a lap earlier, really - I think it would have made a difference.

Plenty of room Phaed, as always in this type of series. 👍

Race room:
1472-6118-3830-2746-7175
Sorry, but going to have to skip due to the Daytona 500...

...and I actually just woke up, so I'll probably go off somewhere in Sector 1. :ouch:

Have a good race, everyone. 👎

Oh, and those pics, Longbow, stunning as usual. :)

Thanks, I was looking forward to taking some of the 'Ring too. But...I feel rather nauseous. Which is not how you want to feel during a Nurburgring race of any kind, hah.

Have a good race everyone. I was looking forward to it. >.>

I need to focus on other things in life at the moment.

Have a good race.👍

Sorry for not saying in advance that I would be unable to compete tonight. Nevertheless, have a great race everybody! I'm sure the finale will be very intense ;)

Anddd... disconnected, yeah:yuck:

I was in such nice, non-competitive vibe, felt like I was going to really enjoy crusing the ring... even put cocpit view on and started slowly adjusting to it. One cocpit that I quite like, GT's.

It was very hard at beginning to judge where "this stupid grass begins and my car ends". But just when I began enjoying the fact that I started kissing curbs with more and more precision - PUF*

you're not alone... the top 4 all wimped out... helping re-spec gate and making movies chewed up all my free time so I went in with no more practice than ~90 min of testing each car for 3 laps right before the green flag. I spun 4/6 laps... still had fun.

good series Dom. 👍

Thanks Tim, thx everyone. Surely would have been an epic finale if things had gone different, but I still had loads of fun even just practing the few times I got in. :)

I'll finalize the standings tonight if I get the chance, otherwise tom night. (i know i still need fl from suzuka)

Final race finishing order
Me
Snow
Carracer
Ren
Tim
Scanny
Phaedrus (dc) :/

If the race wasn't on today, I actually would've tried that. I know I stink here, so why not just take a nice cruise around the 'Ring?

Oh, well. Great series overall. A bit rough at times, but with Sports Meds and a unique car mix, that was to be expected. Attendance even picked up near the end. :)

Yes, fantastic cars, fantastic idea and most dedicated organiser anyone can wish for:tup:

These cars are quite more challenging (to extract their full potential) then gt300 on SS tires. But they were very appropriately chosen.
This combo simply demanded a little bit of practice but REWARD of accomplishment was very ATTAINABLE.
Too bad more people didn't realise that, it's their loss...

I'm sorry I couldn't attend more. There's always complex situation at home, and other time I missed out due to some room confusion (mostly on my part :) )

I hope there will be more championships exactly like this one:bowdown:

Thanks Dom :)

edit: Longbow, you are the best GT5 photo artist I've seen

Thanks, Dom.

I also thought the timed release thing worked really well. Gap to and from the next car would really make that work well, but the map was enough.

Maybe time change could also be used for the full "So, we're about to risk our stupidly expensive cars on the Green Hell for no reason except we can..." experience one day? Screen tearing would be reduced by the lack of proximity in the format.

Really enjoyed it. Wish I had time to prepare (well, for anything at the moment), but the SLS was good for that.

:embarrassed: Well, that's very nice of you to say, thank you. I'm definitely not though. Seriously. :P

And I have to echo peoples thoughts about the series ( even though I was in it only briefly...) A really great concept and good execution. I would definitely have participated more if I knew it existed earlier - and I really never do Series. So that's saying somethin'.

All I can say at the moment is that if/when we/I find a full drivers list, I'll be ready for a season 2. If I had to make a prediction, it'd be early into GT6's life.
Drivers these monster roadcars in street trim has been a passion of mine in every GT game to date, and it's always priority number 1 when a new one comes out for me. :)

Here we are, Wes actually had FL @ Suzuka with a blistering 2:08.715 👍
Final standings

And here's the top 5 for lazy folk:
1. outlaw4rc
2. The Outlaw
3. snowgt
4. carracerptp
5. Dr_Watson

Congrats to Rich for the series championship!

So I don't win a race the whole season, yet, I win the championship? How does that work? :boggled:

And thanks to Dennis, for helping construct the series as a whole, shame you couldn't make it in the end. :( Maybe next time. 👍
Tim for a bunch of website stuff and tech support such and all that stuff.
Rich, Will, and Tim for a bunch of stewarding, practice laps and car tests for each round, sharing the results, and helping add times/results etc, and hosting races.

And everyone that raced an enjoyed themselves.

Loved not having to worry about tuning, and these cars were an excellent challenge. Apologies to everyone I hit along the way to the top.

Not sure what cars we can use if there's another series like this, but maybe a tier lower, or make the season longer and add even more cars.

Totally agree. Tuning prohibited with a bunch of cars as close as possible via power limiter only, with having to drive all or most of them at least once, is/was great fun!

And if you're wondering how you won the series, it's the same secret as how I came in third. :sly:

Actually, all one would have to do is pick a "base-car", and then take 8-10 cars that are slightly faster and tune them down to the base-car's performance.

If that's a future series, count me in!

Using cars a tier lower might actually provide a larger group, I deviled with some for a bit while testing.
The trick with these monsters is/was the relative lack of grip, putting the Vette or LFA on par with the rest was/is/would be (I didn't get them quite) very difficult to do.

The main thing I learned here is exactly how much PL can be used with stock transmissions geared to the moon.
So in another spec'ing, the PP would be dropped for all the cars, to make sure 0/0/0 is really the best way to go when it's supposed to be. (like the Vette, which really can't gain from an oil change due to traction/power, ended up suffering because most everything else could)
Basically what I mean is, that mis-calculation on my part is what lead to the car differences being as much as they were.
