Something i found

Normally you would never see any video game advice or tips on this blog, however GT5 is such a brilliant game, and i feel all IEDEI readers should own it. Since buying my console and copy about a month ago, I had never been able to connect for ‘online game play’ via the Playstation network. I kept getting messages which said “cannot connect to server” even though I had always had an easy time watching films on Netflix or logging into the playstation network (PSN) for other things.

My wife is a bit of a computer nerd sometimes, and helped me fix this very easily! She’s so cool. So in the Playstation 3 main network settings, I chose ‘custom’ and ran everything as standard——-except the DNS settings. I have changed the DNS settings to 4.2.2.2 (primary) and 4.2.2.1 (secondary). Apparently these are open DNS numbers that can be used with any connected device. My wife uses them on her laptop and has fixed a bunch of connection issues, and after entering this in my PS3 network settings; and then restarting the device——-IT WORKED! Make sure you clear the ‘cache’ found in the GT5 network settings options as well. You should then be able to enter the lobby and join online! Last night i played on the PSN for GT5 online gameplay, and it was a ton of fun. Plus there are new challenges and a host of different used cars on the online part of the game.

Try using this trick, and i hope it works for you. Tell them IEDEI told you. cheers!

OH YES ! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT !!!!!
MY GT5 IS WORKING AGAIN ! I CAN SEE MY BEAUTIFUL GIRLS AGAIN!

Simply,go to Network Setting on XMB and setup the PS3's Internet Connection like you just got your wi-fi :D It's working!

That's sound stupid
But could work

Lol, buggered if I know but all I know is I tried to go online tonight, got the error message and had heard that resetting your password might work.

So I tried deleting it, then re-entering it, but got a "invalid password" message. So I hit "forgot password" psn sent a new password, that let me sign in.

The first time I tried to log in via gt5 I got rejected with a code and it asked me to leave the game and loving via the psn tab on the xmb.

I did that, rebooted gt5, and it let me in.

Then I quit gt5 and the closed the ps, waited a min, then Rebooted and signed in to psn in the gt5 menu at the start and it has seemed to work for me

I closed and rebooted about 4 times to test and it seems to be ok at the moment

Hope it helps someone !!!! Doesn't make sense, but sometimes neither does GT5 or PD !!!!!

Cheers, stu

Dunno bout that way,but mine did work again see my post above yours

Yep, good job.

I will post that up on our race forum tomorrow and we if it helps any of our guys.

I started a thread on the front page as well about this, and it would be good to put this info up there too.

Cheers stu.

Seems to work now after changing the PS3 IP in my network (and of course all the port forwarding) and resetting my PSN password!!!

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Ooh yes !!!! That's Work

I have done the test.

I started to change my password, then (I normally use the wi-fi),

I changed the parameter for cable to reset.

I made the connection test and the result is a failure (what I wanted),

then I handed the parameter wi-fi and I redid the test connection (my network was operating normally).

I rebooted GT5 and everything is back normal.
....

I did nothing. Someone in cyberspace fixed it for me.

Really, I don't think it's user-related.

I am trying to re-download my DLC that I paid for, and I'm getting this error from Australia and I can't log into the server! I tried wireless and wired, same problem. Is anyone having the same issue here?

It's happening again.. Both wired and wireless. I don't even want to pay this stupid game online, I just want access to the dlc cars I paid for!
This is the only game affected so far, and I have many.
Can someone please give me a solution to this problem, or a number to call, either Sony or Poliphony..
Btw this wouldn't be a problem unless PD forced you to install and re-install the bloody dlc cars every time you start the game.. Stupid, absolutely stupid!

Oh, and also long loading times because of this error, 56 seconds to be exact, every time the game attempts to connect online, which is a lot.

Ummm it doesn't. I have never had to reinstall DLC cars/tracks when i start the game. That seems like something might be wrong with your PS3. I haven't even heard of that problem to be honest

I have this problem now but with id=1:6399
Plus the game has been running slow over the past couple of days

I had this problem before I changed my router to a newer one, it was because my NAT Type was Strict (Nat Type 3) I believe.

Had nothing but problems over the last few days, 99% of the time when I try to join an online lobby I wait at least 3/4 mins to be presented with "failed to join room". Running the TT's is a joke also, wait an eternity for them to load up and have lost fast times when they fail to register, come on PD sort it out...!!!

Also having some problems, mostly when the game is loading. Slow connection to PD servers, just took me around 2 minutes to get into GT Life from 1st loading screen. 👎
