Nice one, didn't see that...Oh, about my post regarding who's watching Mr. Cool, I can't hold it in any longer!
New avatar/title combo for me

... I did, however, rule out Porsche Boxter, Toyota MRSpyder and Lotus Elise on the basis that they're also 2-seater convertibles, and I've already got one of them!!!
On an SFGTP2 related note though, I have PM'd again the drivers who're currently active in WRS, that're also local to here. There's 3 of them within 60 mile radius of here, but as yet none of them has posted in here.
There's plenty of time yet!

Isn't an Elise just as much of a Targa as your 911?
Besides which, the 911 is a 4 seater, everyone knows that*, so it has much more room than an Elise, and is available much cheaper! Elises only went on sale here a couple of years ago, consequently second hand ones are still pretty pricey. The only viable Lotus I could afford was a 1977 Esprit Turbo, but it was for sale just outside Seattle, which'd've meant a 2000 mile round trip to collect it!
* You just have to be very very small to get in the back seats! They fold down into a good sized parcel shelf though!

I can't remember the last time I went to the custom avatar panel...
Why would you when your previous one was so legendary? - i hope it will return.
IIRC, there's the Subaru Impreza Super Touring Car and the Mitsubishi FTO Super Touring Car. Both of them have plenty of horses under the hood(more than the Clio, I believe), and I believe have enough different livery colors to cover a 6 driver race as well. I think those cars would probably do a lap of the Sports Car course in about the same time as the Clio would cover the Stock Car course. But it wouldn't be a bad idea to test those cars out anyways. It's on my planning list, and will be possible as long as we have 8 or more drivers even on 4 stations. I've taken part in 2 of the legendary Clio Endurance races at UKGTPs, (UKGTP V & UKGTP VII) and try as I might I can't come up with a suitable replacement for the Clio.
(It's one of very few race cars that's suitably quick, but comes in a wide variety of colours to make knowing which team is which easier!)I think Infineon may be too long a lap time and suck up too much event time though. Maybe the stock car course, but I'll have to see when I start testing
Nobody walks anywhere in California.SmallhorsesThere are 4 hotels within walking distance of here, right in Emeryville.
I'm a snob, so I'll probably pop for one of those. If possible, I'd like to stay at a place where the concierge will gladly cut my cigars for me and hand-wash my delicate garments.SmallhorsesFour Points Sheraton, Courtyard by Marriott, Hilton Garden Inn and a Woodfin Suites (probably quite pricey!)
OFF TOPIC, if you'd like to get your car detailed, just let me know

As a person who has been going to Otakon since 1995, this has me wondering if any of the out-of-towners who are coming to take part in SFGTP2 are planning on rooming together at any of the hotels to cut down on the travel expenses. Just a thought. There are 4 hotels within walking distance of here, right in Emeryville.

There's also a few more on University Ave, in Berkeley which isn't too far away either.
I can imagine the reaction form the drivers. It's probably going to be the same as what happened at UKGTP7 for the Clio Endurance...@ CAMikaze - Appreciate the suggestions, but the Impreza & FTO suffer from chronic 4WD style tyrewear that the Clio doesn't. I'd like to keep an enduro venue as secret as possible until the raceday, so that everyone gets thrown in at the deep end together and there can be no complaints of some drivers having more practise than others etc. 👍
That has me wondering if there's a possibility of having a Seventh setup but only for the purposes of spectating the races for the people not involved in the racing. You won't need a steering wheel for the seventh setup, just a DS2 controller for the purpose of switching between cars to view.@ Kylehnat @ jump_ace definitely bring DFP wheels with you. Even if you don't use them yourselves it means there's going to be 6 complete setups, and therefore with more than 6 drivers rotating on and off, it means that anyone can sit anywhere and plug in either a wheel or a pad at any given time. This gives everyone the opportunity to start in different grid positions and use different monitors, If there's a perceived difference in size/picture quality, then everyone will suffer the same at some point in proceedings, making it all fair again!

Heck...could even setup a 'mic'
Cut off my tongue.
That'd be fun in a race like the Miata one at SFGTP1!SimRaceDriver....."color commentary".....

".....The silver Elise leads, and it's the white Miata slightly ahead of the White Miata, which is currently being pursued by the other White Miata....."
"And the car in front is exactly the same as the car behind - except totally different!"
I'm offended! I guess this means you're not going to pay for my gas, either?there's no more room (except floor space,) sorry Kylehnat
