Share your opinions on the migration of all of the drifting threads.

Considering All the drifting-related online events that take place here, it only made sense to include a new dedicated sub-forum for that activity, so you can easily find others who are drifting online. I'll consider your complaints, though.

All? you mean all those failed tournys that died after the first round? Or the invisible ones?

Are you drifting offline by yourself? If so, then you're most likely not gonna need to go into any of the ONLINE team threads.

You have to move the thread to the actual forum, not just the "link" to that forum (I know it shows up as an option for you in the menu - that's a bug). You'll find the correct destination under the "Online Events" category.

I see what you did there

Has anyone else noticed, since the move, how many 'I need a tune' and 'help I cant drift' threads piling in.

Cutting the drift forum in half failed as I predicted, there's much less traffic viewing drifting related threads now, not to mention the countless repeated threads now showing up. Setting requests, beginner tips, general nonsense are now flooding the regular drift forum.

I give up.

Yeah, but they're just blind. You also forgot the "BEST/EASIEST/NOOB drift car" threads, as well

Oh yeah, someone created a thread titled something like 'easy drift car' when literally 2! threads down was the 'good beginners car' thread.
EDIT: Just counted 12 request/advice threads. I was looking on the forza forum thingy the other day to look at some of the drift car designs and theres thousands of replies and teams. I actually dont know why the GT5 drift community is so low on numbers. Is it that xbox's are just more desireable because basically everyone I know has only an xbox.

It all comes down to customization.

Customization = replay value.

I was recently considering trying Forza out so I can try making some videos with it :yuck:

If the graphics turn out to be as good as they have been promo'd for FM4 then I may invest in it for the occasional livery session but I doubt they will live up to expectations.

Just like how GT5 lived up to 5 years of expectations? If you hype something up, it will never totally please you, this is a fact.

Ok, back on topic people.

The drift forum has been destroyed, put together the main drift forum and new sub-section's "currently viewing" list and it's only about 25-50% what it use to be.

Merge them back together.

I see this as a positive move - imagine if all the online racing threads were in the main GT5 section.

Now, if people want to head to a team thread, they'll find it in just as many clicks as before from the main page - it's just a different location. And if they do come to this Drifting sub-forum, and aren't on a team, they'll find threads that pertain to drifting, not just team thread after team thread, usually filled with comments not even relating to GT, but just one-liners involving random daily goings-on. Not sure how useful that really is.

Duplicate threads (the "beginner car suggestions" ones) are disappointing, no argument there, but that sort of laziness happens in all parts of GTP; it's not exclusive to this sub-forum. If you come across something that's been done before, the Report button could lead to a merge 👍
