I have been playing it with 3 screens and i have to tell you its mind blowing how real it feels. The G27 wheel needs some tweaks but its ok. Im getting 60+ FPS with a ATI 6870. Its a real improvement from Shift 1. Good Job EA :)
I cant wait for the Drag Racing DLC....... Thats were i will be !

Ah I see. Thought you were talking about FPS. Yea seems like the old shift did the same. That`s just animation though. That lag isn't there when driving, just on the screen.

Not sure what you mean by 'only on screen'. Car obviously turns in sync with wheel movement on the screen, and with a lag to real wheel.

Well. It feels like when i turn my wheel the wheels on the car are responding quicker than the response on the screen. I may be wrong but that's just how it feels.

I beg to differ, the car response almost instantly to the real steering input and if there's any delay it's the nature of the car itself, it seems a car that you have to dance around with a bit.

Well, the wheel to screen lag happens on the console versions as well. Hopefully they can patch it, but I wouldn't think that they would. They should have an option to eliminate the wheel graphic on screen like in GTR Evolution/Race On so then you wouldn't even notice the lag graphically. The game would seem even more realistic then especially with that triple screen setup and nice race seat you have going on.

I was hoping it was limited to crappy cars, but in my case, even after messing with wheel settings endlessly, it is not. Tried some McLarens, Porsches etc, cars I would expect to have pretty much zero slope in steering. And there is a lag for me. And I didn't even use a view where you could see the cockpit/wheel, so my perception is based only on the lag from my wheel to car turning.

cars alway have some slope in steering, not because of control issue, but just that the tire is a elastic thing and doesn't respond instantly, and when you are driving hard you are always using more steering compare to your direction of travel to exploit the slip angle, especially so with muscle cars on road tires, as shown in the vid.

try tuning your car and find one with good turn in, the MX5 is a good place to start, but buy the track prep suspension and notch up the rear anti-roll by a click, and also soften the front damping by a click, it is a setup that demands the least coaxing on the wheel and most direct. Then you will have a good benchmark on judging the physics.

Nice setup.
The game has real potential within the mod community.

So what specs of a PC you reckon would allow 3x1080p and 60fps but with MAX details?

Btw you seem to like your toys so you should really look up "Parts Express" who are based in Ohio I think and check out the "Clarke Synsthesis TST209" tactile units. LINK This game can produce some great incar tactile feedback.

Forget that kids gaming chair you have get some real tactile immersion.

That's definitely not the case... cars do not have a delayed response when you turn the wheel. Shift 2 have input lag.

I have a buttkicker on my playseat evo. This game is great with it except when you start the game. Any way to lower the start up sound? It scared me first time i had the amp on and started the game.

Yeah that is stupidly loud.
Not much you can do on loading. If only PS3 had some form of audio normaliser to keep all sounds at the same level.
