Update. 7:49'30

Rolling along pitlane at lap 132/133

Had missed pit entry and was 1/2 way down home straight when i remembered, skidded to a halt, threw it in reverse and 180'd. back through the chicane, 180'd again and drove down pit lane with 1 litre left in tank.

Phew

My update: 22 hours in! Yay! 2 to go.... but the downside is that withing 30 minutes, its already 100% surface water, and the peugeot is already pretty bad in oversteer, and with the water, it isn't looking pretty

Oh man, the peugeot hdi fap EATS your tires, even with traction control on

I managed 12 lap stints driving the 908 with hard tyres on it. Managed 14 lap stints in the wet. Only thing holding this car back from doing longer stints is the fuel tank as my tyres could've last for at least 16 lap stints.

Mine started at 20 hours for 5 minutes, then started again very lightly until 21 hours, then it started POURING! Half of the sky still appears blue though, from the entire time

Yeah I'm just hoping the rain holds off for at least 2 more hours cus i hate night time rain racing
Update: Resumed racing at 11:20 race hours
Milestone: 200 Laps - 11 hours 44 minutes
12 hours, no rain yet. paused to walk dog

update: just had a minor heart attack when I realised that I had missed pit entry and had just turned through tertre rouge onto mulsanne so I did a u-turn and crawled back to pits with 1 litre in the tank. The reason? Relief of daylight at 3:45 am race time

Update: At exactly 12 hours and 59 minutes completed i started getting drop of rain. will keep updated.

Thanks.... I might wait a couple of weeks to start that though, cause I missed a lot of different events while I was doing the 24 hours of le mans....

Gahh its so hard to control lmps in the rain

Ok, so after 2 hours Ive finally learnt to drive my Toyota MINOLTA in the wet.

Stats: RR Tyres - 8 laps - 70 litre usage - averaging 3:49 laps

Those are my average stint stats.

Currently on lap 263 - 15:48:18.780

If the rain stops in the next half hourI might make the 400 lap mark

UPDATE: 20Hours past, has rained for over 6 hours now.

I would but I have no way to record videos. Also, what car are you using?

I could only do around 3:35.000 or less in the Minolta and the Peugeot 905. The best was around 3:28.000 but it was a fast lap. All the older cars make me go around 3:37.000/3:38.000

I can`t really see another choice of cars and even still 3:35.000 isn`t going to make us win. Let me explain. There is going to be a Lan Party in May. Me and a friend will take a PS3 and do the 24h of Lemans there. There is going to be around 300 people or more so we have big noise and very distractions to bother us. Finding concentration is going to be hard. So even if i do manage to get this Lap Times in My sofa at home, i know its going to be harder there since, with time passing and noise, we will always be slower. If we get better Average Lap times maybe the drop wont be that much.

I could build you a tune for any car. I like the 905 a lot. I won the race with it once before.

That would be perfect. A Peugeot tune is welcome. If you got the time feel free to send it. I drove all cars on stock. The Peugeot its for me the must balanced one. I go a Lap time of 3:28.444 with it. some times i just find it suffering a bit from understeer making it feel heavy (ironically it is the must litter of them all) but apart from that its perfect. Also i drive with no aids including no abs. Still trying to find out whats the best brake balance 4/2 or 6/3. 4/2 makes the wheels block only at really low speed, 6/3 blocks earlier but i feel like it is a bit more efficient.

Wow, no ABS is pretty ambitious. Not many people can run this race with no ABS. I even use ABS with these cars.

I also need to know what tires you plan to use for the race so I can get the tune right.

Yes it is hard. But after many days of training i managed to get more fun and perfection with it. The only problem with no abs is really the rain :/ We will take RH tyres.

It is do-able with No TCS and No ABS.

run with the RA system (In race Brake Bias adjustment) then you can tweak it mid race... even mid stint.

I moved to a much softer BB setting to let me run longer stints.

I had an All dry 24 hours race. And expect your lap times to quicken.

I'm running the Nurby 24 at the moment and although you are slower in the wet, the AI is even slower. I guess it is the same at LeMans as well. You can drive in the wet - keep it safe and smooth and you will (You will - keep positive!) pull away from the rest of the cars.

Do you use the RA system with a DS3? Iam kinda of missing buttons for all the game functions :/

Do you remember what you took off to get the Ra to work?

My button layout:

X-gas
[square]-brake
[circle]-handbrake
[triangle]-reverse
L1- look behind
R1- change view
L2- shift down
R2- shift up
L3- headlights
R3- windshield wipers
[select]- open RA menu
Dpad up/down- select RA function
Dpad left/right- change RA setting
Left stick- steering
Right stick- N/A

Making notes now. I will see if i can match everything

Practice RA buttons before you start a Big race...

I have the R1 button for activation of the menu and then the DPad directions to manipulate the settings.

Practice with these... Not sure if it is better to "reverse" what you would normally think for increasing or decreasing a value (Left and right)

I removed Lights But at LeMans you may want to have the option to swap high beam or Dipped as you race.

Good thing about LeMans are those nice long straights... great to mess about with Brake Bias!

3- 3.459
4- 2.809
5- 2.346
6- 2.023

NOTES:
This setup isn't too aggressive. It gives a decent balance between grip and tire life. (Low camber and toe angles to help tire life). I've never really driven without ABS and TCS on these cars, so it was a learning experience for me. However, I did manage a 3:26.763 on hard tires. I would highly advise running at least ABS and TCS during the race, otherwise you will KILL your tires. I really enjoy driving this car. Most of that is because of the torque curve this car has and the amount of boost provided by the turbo. Look at the torque curve graph and notice the flat portion in the middle. That gives you ridiculous amounts of acceleration in the 80-160mph range, which you spend 70% of the track in. That is really helpful to boost times.

Never use the redbulls?? Why not that's an easy win.

Well, for one, it will start to get boring with no competition whatsoever, and, a couple of pages back, we mentioned that you really don't feel any accomplishment after winning by over 100 laps

I tried this settings. The average lap times dropped to 3:31.000, still can`t match your times with or without aids i get the same times. I believe iam driving the track with wrong lines there is no other explanation :/
