I know, with almost absolute certainty, that lightly tapping the rear bumper of a corvette going under 100mph in a straight line isn't going to send both cars off the track.

I agree with that. Does that happen to you in game?

Well hopefully they turn the magnets off or down in the next patch. That does get annoying some times. Like getting stuck to walls. 👎

My only complaint with Shift 2. It's like everyone's cars and the walls are drenched in glue before every race. Really hope that gets patched. :ouch:

Yep that's why I won't play shift 2 online due all the super magnetism between cars what the heck was SMS thinking??? Besides that man this is still a game I come back to all the time to play

Check the posts from Griff, he's the PC lead for Shift 2. While the posts here relate to the PC version, they had mentioned that the console patch (1.03) was done too.

I'm afraid there is still no announcement that the new patch has been tested and approved by EA. The posts quoted above mention that the patch SMS created for EA had to be extensively reworked since SMS included a bunch of unapproved changes. Griff went on to say that they were removing those additions but I'm not sure he actually said that it had been submitted to EA yet. I'm certain that he has not stated it has passed EA's QA. There was a post from him saying the PC DLC passed testing but it has not yet been released.

My guess is SMS are having a difficult time removing all the unapproved code changes and getting back to a stable codebase for the corrected patch. That's just a guess but a logical one based on my own experience.

I'm guessing they were thinking that maybe people wouldn't ram so much if contact was a guaranteed crash for both parties. Gotta give them points for trying something new at least.

If you have a chance to play Dirt 3, that game is so much fun, shift 2 is good, but Dirt 3 has definitely occupied my ps3 more.

Yeah... Dirt 3 career mode lasts 5 hours, rally stages 1-2 minutes, arcade physics, all cars feel the same, 1 truck, 1 buggy, and the whole dude speak is so over the top its horrid.

Dirt3 has merits but I dont see how it can take up more time than S2. Online is just as much a ramfest as any other game.
