Should PD use more studios for GT?

We all know that GT has lots of Japanese cars, but iconic vehicles from other countries don't make a showing because they can't move all their equipment over to the cars' location. PD should solve this by creating studios in Europe, the US and Australia to make it easier to scan, model, record engine sounds and get data on the car's performance. (not to mention scan tracks!) Part of the reason why GT6 has bad engine sounds is because PD can't get their hands on certain vehicles. Having the worldwide studios work in conjunction with the team in Tokyo will allow for a wider variety of content and better engine sounds.

No.

There are modelling and data capture professionals on every continent. They should hire some of them to do the work, if they can't do it themselves. Setting up studios doesn't seem like it would be cost effective to me.

But I doubt that lack of access is really the reason for the poor sounds. If that were true, then all the Japanese and mass production cars would sound fine, and the rare cars would not. That isn't the case.

No. PD doesn't even have the capability to create studios in other locations and as @Imari mentioned, its not at all cost effective.

Also, you can't honestly think that somehow having multiple studios is going to magically fix the sounds on 1,000+ cars, do you?

Having more studios wouldn't necessarily solve GTs issues. In terms of modern car quantity PD is way off the pace and the quickest way to rectify this is the outsourcing of modelling to third party firms.

I think I read that PD hired more 3D modelers so things should improve for GT7.

PDI subsidiaries? With all of the PDI's eccentricities multiplied? No thanks.
Rather use Sony's existing studios...there are some really talented people employed by Sony, let them loose on a GT title and I bet you are going to see a crazy good game....
