If you say you voted yes, because all cars deserve to be premium. It is the wrong approach in my opinion. All cars need atleast one variation to be made premium. Yes. If they had a BMW 333i or an E30 M3.. I wouldnt mind, but just look at those two corvettes.. I mean, come on? I was looking at old videos yesterday, the old subaru rally car going around eiger, the lancer (with an aftermarket GT4 wing) going on Eiger and I realised why the cut corners with the car list. Time. They REALLY started making GT5 since 2007. They sat there messing up different builds before that. The assets in Eiger look so different. They went back to the drawing board in 2007.. and a game with some 'holes' is what we get in 2010.

That's unacceptable in today's industry, done.

My favorite is when the "experts" from top gear say that the vette is made of plastic.

You say that as though none of them are. The new ones may be better, I can't honestly say I keep up to date on American cars... but the older ones were shockingly squishy on the bodywork.

I think this question is badly worded in the first place. Yes, all cars should be premium sooner or later, so technically, everyone would vote yes in that case.

The real question is whether or not PD should have "premium"ized the Veyron at the expense of an existing Premium given the time constraint. If so, which premium car specifically would you have slashed out to make way for the Veyron?

In this case, I voted no. Because I wouldn't have traded any of the existing Premiums for a car that is only meant to be driven on an oval track or drag strip whether you agree or not.

No, the Vette has always used fiber glass for reduced weight, its plastic like, but its not cheap like they make it out to be.

I think that is easy, how about 1 of the 4 skylines. Or even better, how about the Samba Bus.

I see. I guess they point they were making is it looks like plastic, even if it isn't. I mean, you can physically see 'em on Top Gear pushing the rear bumper with one hand and it wobbling about like a marshmallow.

Anyway... I'm quite fond of the car to be honest, whatever it's made of. I don't mind a bit of weight reduction.

Infact, its fairly pricey if you need body damage fixed.

Ok...so you got the GTR '07, GTR Black mask '07, GTR Proto-05, GTR SpecV '09, and GTR SpecV (GT Academy) '09.

We had GTR '07 in GT5P, same as the Black Mask and the Proto-05 back in prologue, so really, it's down to slashing the Spec-V models. And honestly, the two SpecV models are pretty much identical, so it's trading 2 cars for 1 premium. You would really have a Premium Veyron and take a standard GTR SpecV???

For the Samba Bus, alright, that's a cool choice. I wouldn't have minded a standard Samba to get a Premium Veyron. But I don't see too much detail in the Samba to begin with...:ouch:

What doesn't make sense is why they didn't "future proof" the Veyron like they claimed to do with other cars. I mean did they really only want to feature it in a spin off game?

The thing is, though, the Veyron is more like a gimmicky piece of technology more than a car. Yes, it's the fastest, but it's not practical at all. How many Veyrons do you see on Forza 3 online? It simply outclass every car and does not fit into a racing sim. People gets hyped when seeing it, drives it, then gets bored after a couple of race and never touch it again unless it's for grinding. I think one of PD's criteria for premiums is iconic, fun, and whether people would drive it or not. Now I'm not saying that the Fiat 500 or Samba or WWII Jeeps would be driven more than the Veyron, so don't take it the wrong way.

Anyhow, we might want to re-visit this thread once everyone has the opportunity to test out the Veyron, then we can decide whether the Veyron should have been a premium or not. After playing GTPSP, I honestly don't see how the Veyron fits in any racing sims at all as it beats everything on a straight, lose to an Integra on a turn, and is a horrible car to drive overall. That's why I still stick with PD's decision for a Standard Veyron.

Wait, wait, wait, wait..... did someone just say a Veyron doesn't belong in a driving sim? But wait again.... an army Jeep does? And a Samba bus? Please let us not lose our heads now, we really can be critical.

Do you people seriously think its not premium? Why would they add a new car and not have it made to the standards of the others? Why would they make a new one on the level of a ps2 model or a substandard ps3 model? This is almost certainly a typo.

Actually I remember reading some years ago that the vette was never intended to be made of fiberglass. What happened was that they built the concept from fiberglass and people liked it. They got a bunch of orders and ended up building them with fiberglass initially and then never changed it.

In all honesty what do you prefer, a gimmicky piece of tecnology and engineering marvel or a Mitsubishi I-MiEV?

To further state my case, do you prefer this interior?

(Please be sure to look at all the dashing grayness of the dash everything)

Or this interior?

Wow that mitsubishi is fantastic, and whats with the wreck underneath, ah, burn it!!

I don't think we need a poll, everybody would agree to have it premium (Veyron), the poll is useless. There's just something holding back PD, and honestly I don't think we can do anything about it. They know we aren't happy with this news but that's what they could do.

Maybe I dont' understand something, but I don't understand what the big deal is with premium. I get it, non-premium cars have no in-car views and only can get minor damage. But to be honest (at least for me), in-car was nothing more than a novelty. In prologue, I rarely actually raced with the in-car. I raced with the standard on-the-bumper view, and that's what I anticipate doing in GT5.

I think ALL cars should be premium, and that they will be at some point.

That being said, I'm not disappointed that the Veyron is a standard, since it's not a car I'll be using often, and it's not going to be very competitive in races. The old Supra/RX-7's that are premium make much more sense, because people spend a LOT more time in those, and they're going to see a lot more road time.
