Should there even be 'tuned cars' in GT5?

Should there be 'tuned cars' in GT5 the full game?

I don't think so, then we'll have to complain about how ugly some of their body kits look. I thought tuned cars would just be a racing aero package so you can still do your own tuning. Making a race car out of say a Holden Monaro would be nice, but I like doing that with just the wing and a good suspension setup.

(If you're interested in such a setup for GT4 just visit Aussie Tuners via my sig ;) )

You should be able to tune cars's in GT5, but only with parts of the best tuners like HKS, blitz, mine's, top secret, mugen and more.

You don't want tuner cars in GT5

You voted to say you don't want tuner cars in GT5

STJ88 posts to say tuner cars should be in GT5

You agree with him....

The way I understand it, no stock cars will be replaced by tuned cars in GT5. On that basis, I don't see why I should not want tuned cars in GT5, as it means we will have more cars in GT5. And good ones, too, like the Mine's, the Amuses and the Spoons. 👍

I do like cars in their stock form, but I also like readily tuned cars, and the ability to buy a stock car and tune it like I want to. So with tuned cars, I get everything, which is why I kind of don't understand why the question is being asked at all (noone forces you to buy certain cars anyway)

Therefore, I voted 'YES'.

I hope you meant tuned cars as in pre-tuned things...If not then I didn't mean to vote for what I did.

I think this is tune cars in the form of the race car aero kit guys, as just unveiled by PD for GT5:P. This has nothing to do with tuner cars like Mine's and Spoon.

So the point is that you can either leave a stock car as it is, or put on a full body kit, but not apply single changes?

I personally think: NO! One should be allowed to tune cars themselves. Stock cars FTW

You are a closed minded individual.

You do realize how much is done to cars from the factory to keep them slow.

Every car i've had, i ve put in allot of work myself and spent thousands of my own money.

This isn't a poll of which is better, it's proving you know so little about the automotive hobby.

What do you drive In the real world anyways?

This thread is stupid. Unless you've actually built your own car, you have no idea about the tuning concept.

You do realize that companies like AC schnitzer, AMG, RUF, Nismo, TRD, TOM'S, and many many many others are tuners and the factories either bought info on tuning or other stuff to make their oem cars.

Let me give you some more stuff to think about.

The wheel section GT has always had WAS TUNING.

Work, Rays, Volk, Enkei, Advan, 5ZIGEN, and others.

On top of that, If GT was to exclude tuning, it would be a slap in the face to us enthusiasts that believe cars can and should be tuned.

Obviously there are areas where you cant tune. Like that F1 car.....you can change the settings but you can't change the parts.

When it comes to a Na miata , if i buy it like this...

IN TO THIS....

1. A striped interior - you can actually see
2. True GT adjustable wing
3. Rolled fenders or wheel arches to fit larger wheels.
4. Yes bodykits....Not the ricer fairy ones but the ones proven for performance.
5. Carbon fiber components......Option to modify to dry or colored carbon.
6. Brake upgrades where you can see the rotor and caliper modifications.

If tuning is not involved, it would be an outrage and Forza would instantly win. Graphics are not the number 1 aspect of a driving simulator. It's the feedback to the driver and ability to make the game feel real. Im a performance driver and frequent the track.....either the drag strip or autocross, for those of us that live the hobby, it would be the end of us liking GT.

For some of US gt is more than a game, It's practice for when we hit the track. Forza 2 holds that spot right now.

i like to try and tune a normal car up to the level of a popular tuner like amuse etc and try and see if i can get the same performance for a much lower total price.

Some people dont know the difference between tuner cars and racecars but I wont even get in to that. When you say "tuner" car if your talking about a street legal vehicle that has been tuned by a professional aftermarket performance company like these:

Then yes I do believe that tuner cars should be in GT5. Theres an abundance of people on here that have to be reminded GT is an enthusiast game. Many people have lack of knowledge on actual tuning and aftermarket manufacturing. Some companies design and manufacture there own parts which is why some "tuner" vehicles can be way more advance and detailed than you can imagine. I dont think it will be possible to do this in GT5, designing your own parts is just a little to advance. Besides people have a hard time distinguishing the difference between racecars and tuner cars. This is why they will give us tuned cars as well as racecars because it would be impposible for a video game to cover the broad amount of planing, designing, fabricating etc. involved in some of these vehicles.

Quoted for truth. This has been my argument for a couple of years now.

Gran Turismo is supposed to be a journey into the motorsports world. Not the fast n furrious ricer world, but motorsports. Climbing the laddrer into the pro world means you take a car, and YOU modify it with performance parts. This includes bodykits and a nice livery paint job, plus YOU get a number that identifies you as well. When you get good enough to rack up some wins and gain the interest of sponsors, YOU put their decals on YOUR car.

I WANT THIS. As messed up as it is in Forza 2, it still has a fantastic set of tools enabling you to race mod and paint up your own car like that. When I advanced in Forza 2, I followed this exact same route like a roleplay, having no decals at the start, and adding them as I gained sponsors. It made the game much more immersive and personal.

Why people get the hysterics over this marvelous aspect of motorsports is beyond me.

I would like some Pre-Tuned cars, it gives the Poly team a chance to be creative, and adds more diversity, I howeer would not like the option to customize cars body-wise, liveries i'm OK with, but I don't want GT turning into what it's rivals are, and into another stupid NFS.

Tuning will always be involved and I dont understand why people think the pretuned cars will replace there ability to tune OEM vehicles. I find this thread a waiste of time given the fact that PD will have tuner cars in it, and you will be able to tune and upgrade your own vehicle as you have in the previous 9-10yrs in the GT serious. Im pretty sure that when the finished product comes out all this will be irrelevant and proven to be asinine. People think the entire concept and consistancey of heritage will completely change just because its on a next-gen system. GT will be GT no matter what we think and if it goes off its line and tries to be like Forza it will fail, this is a battle that it has long been the victor of. People are constantley comparing it to other games that I dont even think PD is even aknowledging, thus they arent worried. What I dont understand is why they just dont play those other games. If GT does everything the other game does wouldnt they just be to similar generic games? Thats why Polyphony is leading in innovation not following in with just another generic crowd of console racing games.

When you say "pretuned"... do you mean modified cars that were chosen for the game from respected tuners like Mine's, Amuse, or Top Secret?

Or

Cars that GT team just "creates" that don't exist in real life?

Cause im totally against creating car....the way ridge racer does it.

Tuners though......more is never enough.

Kijnda like saying you dont want race cars really isnt it? If you just want stock cars, best tell PD to ditch the F2007...

I vote yes, and agree with the interceptor, they arent gonna replace any cars, they are additional cars in the game, so if you dont like them, dont use them, use the stock cars.

The more i read this the more i cant believe someone made this thread.

Tuning has been a part of GT, it's a race simulator. A simulator should let you change the variables that make you go faster. If you disagree, go play some stupid game like NFS or something disgraceful like that.

They should go buy a Wii perhaps.:dopey: Just my suggestion...

.

Tuning is simply 'adjusting to improve' may of us have done this in real life and it is certainly not dependant on building your own car.

Adjusting ignition advance or uprating a air filter, these simple things also count as tuning. my car is a 'tuned car' even though i didn't forge the chassis myself (well subframes you would struggle to say the mini has a chassis ;-) )

The OP is simply far too vague on what he considers 'tuned cars', tuned cars of pretty much every form have been in gt since the start and the last thing i want to see is the removal of choice.

No the thread is stupid....... I don't feel that's an ignorant statement.

It might come of as sounding ignorant but to those that see how ridiculous that question is.....We know how to react to it.

Kinda like what you said. Choice.....

If your one of the people that voted no.....

and you don't wanna buy a modified version of something? DON'T

I'll just modify mine and it will be faster than you......i'll win, you'll complain, start another thread on here because you've realized that your wrong.

What I meant was:

the cars like the Ford GT tuned cars, I was never against Blitz, Spoon, etc.

Basically cars that PD tuned themselves.

Well no im still not agianst cars like the Polyphony Ford GT, and its not a tuner car its a racecar... I thought that car was a great conceptual look at what a GT500 class Ford GT would look like. Icidently the Ford GT now competes in JGTC GT500 class. So basically you drove a racecar version of the GT before it even existed/ or while the proto-type was in the making. You should actually thank Polyphony.

One of the many Ford GT-GT500

I absolutly think there should be tuned cars in GT5 or any GT for that matter.
The one thing that some times bothers me is that some tuner, and racecars for that matter is missing their original car of origin. For example the Ford rs200 rallycar and the Ford Escort rallycar are both missing their streetversions.
