yeah they nice sites and you will start to know what BMW really stands for "Brake My Wallet".... and preventive maintainence will makes things last longer. My 1987 535is has about 160,000 miles on it. My Mom's 1984 528e has about 270,000. So don't be afraid of BMWs with 100,000 miles on them, especially with a 5 speed manual tranny. Parts are not really expensive and it really easy to repair BMWs. Here is a link to get repair manuals for most BMWs

Ok BMW is looking like what I may be getting because while i was suefing through this weeks Auto Trader i came across some nice BMWs.

Here are the ones I'm going to look at Tommarrow:
1. 1995 M3 @ $17,000
2. 1996 318TI @ $15,999
3. 1986 635 @ $2800

But I was wondering how much the insurence would cost for a 17 year old? If its a lot i wont be getting a BMW.

Well when I got my 1987 535is and I was under 25 yearsold I had a IH Scout it was about $225.00 but in AZ Auto Insurence is the highest in the country.

Can it be a pickup? I've seen some pictures of some very nicely modded Nissan pickup trucks, lowered to the ground, chrome wheels, nice paint jobs, and they look great.

doesn't really matter. So ya a pick up could work. I've never thought of getting a truck cause i've alway drivin cars. I really don't know a whole lot about trucks, but hey a first time for everything.

I just checked out 1986 635 @ $2800 it was a nice car, but there was 215,000 miles on it and the truck had rust on it. I offered the guy 2k but he said no. Thats all I had time today to go and see. I'm off to see the M3's tommarrow. I hope they turn out to be nice.

I'm also checking out some other cars in the next few days

Here are the ones I may be going to look at:
1. 2000 Chevy Impala @ 19k
2. 1996 Chevy Impala SS @ 14k
3. 1997 Dodge Advenger @ 4500
4. 1994 Dodge Stealth @ 6k

I know its sad but hey I'm into newer cars now maybe next time I'll build a Hot Rod.

If I did buy an old car now it would be a 1962-63 Impala. Put some hydros on it ,some wire rims, and I'll have me a lowrider.

I like Big Blocks. They sound nice. I might talk my dad into getting one cause my dad wants to build a show car. But he wants an old one and i want a new one, so we are both going to help each other out on our cars. My dad's going to teach about older cars and I'm going to teach him about newer cars. He has already learned alot about import tuning from me building my Civic.

I checked out the 2000 Impala, and the 1994 Stealth today. Well I was dissappointed. The Impala has the basic options. And the Stealth had way to many miles, 173,000! So I guess I'm going to keep looking around. :(

For $20, 000 you could always buy an LS1 that's only a few years old, and "work" with it.

If I was going to build a show car, I'd take a Lexus GS300/400, or Lexus SC300/400 and swap the motor out for the MKIV Supra 2jz-gte twin turbo I6. Then add some 18's or 19's, and maybe a sound system.

Get a '95 or so BMW 318ti, and swap the motor out for an M3 motor, then turbo it, add wheels, system, etc.

These "suggestions" I've made will probably be more than $20,000 though.:nervous: I suggest you bum some more money from your parents, like I do...:D

Can you please give us your definition of "show car?" IMO, a Lexus set up how I suggested would be an awesome show car. It wouldn't be flashy with body kits, excess fog lights, stickers, and ****, but it'd be very rare, faster than a mofo, and flat out badass.

Well I found a GS300 for $32,900 and a GS400 for $39,900. So those are out. I've only got a total of $26,000 to spend. I would ask my parents but my dad is buying my mom the car she alway wanted, a red vette. So he said not now.

If you guys are wondering why I have $26,000. Well my great aunt who was 102 past away cause of old age. My whole family inherited some money cause she was rich. So I got some and my parents got some. My parents told me that i should put it in the bank but when i ran it buy them that i was going to build a show car they thought it was worth it.

So Rest In Peace Aunty Dee.

A show car to me means: Nice body kit, no excessive stickers, nice lighting, and stuff like that. Also a nice engine.

You don't have to look at brand new cars. You're looking for a show car, not a new car. My parents bought me a 1995 Lexus GS3000(Touring Edition) a couple months ago for use as a secondary driver. It's Pearl White over a Pearl Silver color w/under 60,000 miles, and was under $20,000. The car's condition is immaculate.

Be patient, don't be like, "Oh, damn the first 2 Lexus's I looked at were $30,000+ so now I'ma give up." Just be patient, and eventually you'll find some old man selling a perfect car for well under its true value.

Oh yeah, and have you ever thought about Police Auctions? About 2 weeks ago I bought a perfect 2001 Camaro Z28 for $9,000 at one. It's already being sold back to the original owner though, as that was the deal that we had made. The kid got it impounded after he was arrested for drugs, and I bought it for him, and am allowing him to buy it back. Anyways, the point is that Police Auctions kick ass, and shouldn't be missed...:D

Your definition of "decent" should be a little more broad. An immaculate E30 M3 (the orignal one; a true driver's car) can be had for US$5,000. No ABS, no airbags, no CD...but don't even try to tell me that's not a great car. ;)

I'll Be going to a police auction very soon. I sure there will be some nice cars there cause drug dealers always have nice cars.

Bimmer = BMW Cars
Beamer = BMW Motorcycles

That's how most people say it.
