The Mrs. has been in LA visiting a friend who as it turns out is the wife of a developer for EA and invited my wife on a tour of their facility... she even got to see some upcoming games. However, as it pertains to this thread, as it turns out, they also have a company store inside their studio, and so my wife, bless her heart decided to surprise me with some EA games:

That's right, every game they sell at their company store goes for a flat fee of just $20. 👍

If I had known this, I would have paid a visit to their Austin offices a long time ago! :D
Sweet deal! Um, can you give me a review of Trivial Pursuit?

And to follow: Do you like playing Trivial Pursuit? No one I know wants to play with me (I win, even when I am doing bad), so a friend of mine in a similar situation is talking about us getting the PS3 version and playing online. If you enjoy TP too, then that means that I might actually be able to put together a game of people who enjoy playing it. Plus, it means it might not be a one-sided game too.

Trivial Pursuit never seemed like a game that would work in video game form.
Why not? Quiz games work fine, Monopoly works fine. Put the two together and it works fine.

I have the PS2 version, but it lacks online. It is good though. Plus with a video game version you get other gameplay modes and possibly a difficulty setting to make it kid friendly too.

EDIT:

I just got back with these:

I'm going to go watch a donkey show now.

This is easily one of the best GH games ever made. The only problem is that the GH bass pedal does not work with the RB drumset.

120gb hd arrived and the transfer from 20gb to 120gb was painless.

Is that just due to the soundtrack, or have they actually changed up the gameplay?

I'm not a huge Metallica fan, so I have just ignored this, but if there is a noticeable gameplay improvement I will be able to look forward to World Tour Greatest Hits.

The Metallica soundtrack helps a lot but the character animations and the gameplay are almost as good as Rock Band 2. These Metallica characters actually move just like the real band members. Thats something NONE of the GH series has ever done well at all.
The best part is that you can unlock real life videos from many of their concerts. But if you are not a huge Metallica fan you probably wont enjoy the game. Rent first. But if you like Metallica this is a must buy.

With the F1 season upon us the taste fr an F1 game has hit me so I went and biought this:
F1_Championship_Edition_PS3.jpg

F1:CE for £20

Then, I went in to Gamestation and saw a very rare game, I have never actually seen ti in a shop until now despite it being 6 years old, and on ebay it regularly sells for over £25 due to its rarity and how hard it is to find. With thay in mind I had to buy it, for just £5!
f1-challenge-99-02.376984.jpg

F1 Challenge 99-02 for the PC. I honestly could not beleive I found it at all nevermind for £5!

And finally at £10.99

Levis red guitar strap.

CE is a very good game, for £20 you've got great value for money.

I've got an oldie for the PC, from the 1998 season. Had the proper Hockenheim, I may have to try and play it just so I can race on a real circuit in Germany.

I know there's some gun folks in here somewhere. And I know Solid Lifters knows about NFA/suppressors and whatnot. Anyhoo here's my most recent acquisitions. H&K USP 9SD, SWR Trident 9 suppressor/silencer, GG&G rail adapter w/Insight M3, and Jet Funnel magwell w/18rd magazines.

Looks neat. Someone in my family just got a Ruger LCP.

The LCP's are neat little pocket guns! I've been looking to get one, but none of our local dealers can keep them in long enough for me to go check one out. I'd like to at least handle it before I buy!

Your family member have good things to say about it?

I'm curious to know how much a setup like that would set you back - I've handled and shot a couple rifles before, but never been to a gun store (And, being in Canada, it's rare to come across one).

Depends on where you get it all from, obviously, but the following is what I spent on each item.

H&K USP9 SD pistol -$970 - from local dealer
SWR Trident suppressor w/LCD - $605 from major-malfunction.com
GG&G rail adapter - $61 shipped from gg&g.com
Insight M3 - $75 shipped from guy on ar15.com
Jet Funnel magwell & 2 18rd magazines - $191 from another guy on ar15.com

So like $1,900 for everything pictured just in materials. Add another $200 for the tax stamp fee that goes to the BATFE to legally register/own the suppressor/silencer, and another $100 to my local C3 dealer for transferring said suppressor to me.

It's a very expensive hobby. Very worth it, though. By far the coolest and most reliable handgun I've ever owned, or shot, period. Scary scary quiet too.

I thought drifting was a very expensive hobby.

Yeah, I'm guessing his or her (anonymity, yay) work ordered a bunch of them. It must be good.

Just bought this, I'm in need of new T-Shirts and since I didn't get this for Christmas thought I might as well buy it now!

Hopefully after they all arrive I'll be posting in the "What have you done to your car today?" thread shortly after :D 👍

Haven't got as photos because I haven't actually got it yet, but today I paid the first half on a new television. Rather than put Kevin Rudd's $950 bonus into paying off college fees or food, I decided to put it to a better use, and I've been looking at televisions for a while now because I've been wanting to watch al the Grands Prix and I simply couldn't do that in the past because it would mean waking someone up to open a room for me at three in the morning.

So now I've purchased a twenty-two inch LCD television with built-in DVD player. Normally, it would be over a thousand dollars, but I for it for jsut seven hundred and forty: it was discounted to begin with, but this particular unit is 'slightly damaged'. The damage, however, is negligible; a salesperson removed a sticker from the side which left residue, so she used Gumption - a paste-based cleaning product to remove it - but it made the surface shiny in contrast to the matte black of the frame around the actual screen. It's purely cosmetic and no larger than my knuckle; I wouldn't have noticed if it hadn't been pointed out to me.

Very, very nice! Congrats!

I'm not a big H&K fan. Their pistols set too high in my hand, which causes a lot of gun flip. I'm sure that suppressor will cancel a lot of that out, since they make great compensators.

My SixaxiS took a dump. The buttons were sticking and the only way to stop that from happening was to smack it with my cane. I guess I did that too many times, because it just fell completely apart on me. :D

So, I got this... SplitFish FragFX v. 2 PS Controller

splitfirefragfxv2jpg.jpg

The reviews aren't great, but those that like it say they like for the same reasons I would like it, so I'm giving it a shot. I'll report back on it when it arrives on Wednesday.

Sorry, being English here, but I don't understand why anyone would want a gun.
I mean, as guns go, and I know absolutely nothing about them, that one loox very nice..... all black and shiny and stuff.
But why does anyone want a gun, and why oh why does anyone want a silencer on the end of that gun?

Flame on!

:irked:👍

Becaue it's hard to stop armed home-invasion robbers with a slingshot.

To participate in the legitimate sport of firearm shooting, shooting competition, hunting, self defense, necessary equipment for your job and for collection purposes.

Suppressors reduce noise (protects hearing), reduces recoil, reduces flash and makes the gun more accurate.

Ok, thanx.

I understood all of that (and took it in) all apart from "collection purposes".

:mischievous:👍

I have a feeling he's talking about guns being collectible items, not actually being used for "collection". Althought they certainly work for that...

Is it bad that when I read "collection purposes" I thought of using them to collect protection money or whatever?
