Picked this up at my local Gamestop during lunch:

Couldn't believe they actually had plenty of copies in stock.

The demo was the best looking game I've ever seen, on any platform.
Can't wait to see if the full game actually looks even better--which I have heard it does

Thanks to a coupon I paid $50 for this little bad boy. It's aluminum and I can pick it up with one hand easily. Unlike my current cast iron behemoth, which will jack up God but requires two men and a boy to move around the garage.

@ FK

I just signed up for Netflix (finally) and I'm working on watching Dexter Season 3 right now. 👍

And the epicness that is the original Transformers doesn't need to be stated.

I got them both on sale on Amazon.

I am a huge Transformers fan, and watched G1 religiously when I was young... :) Last year I got my hands on seasons 1-4 of Transformers G1 and started to watch it, however, I was a bit disappointed... was a bit too "kiddy" in my opinion... So after watching about half of season 1, I stopped, which was kind of sad for me, guess I was blinded with nostalgia when I started watching it... I was wondering if you guys still enjoy watching it, since I'm assuming you guys are around the age I am... :)

Got that same jack for my dad for Christmas (though I'll use it just as much...don't you love those kind of gifts? :dopey:). My only complaint is it doesn't go quite high enough to lift the Civic from its rear jack point, but nothing a 2x6" doesn't cure.

My 2nd 60GB just got the dreaded YLOD, this one lasted 13 months. :yuck:

Sony say it's not a common problem.

So I got one of these...

Only arrived yesterday, and still needs some tweaking to the picture settings, but so far thoroughly enjoying the 1080i revolution. I can now finally read text on PS3 app and game menus! 👍

The PS3 disc came in the mail on Monday, but I don't actually need it because I can stream to my Series 3 TiVo, too. The kids were liking watching Scooby-Doo while I was upstairs streaming Mythbusters on the laptop.

Apparently I'm making up for not having cable/sat for the last 11 years.

My enjoyment is mainly coming from the reliving of my youth coupled with introducing my kids to it.

Edit - Nice set, TheCracker! 👍 Fire up a Blu-Ray and get that thing calibrated (or just go here) ASAP!

Ah I see, maybe in a similar situation I would enjoy it more too (no kids yet)... I just wasnt feeling it anymore... Maybe I should give it another shot.. :P

Cheers for that. I checked there earlier and they didn't have settings for the exact model i have, but i'll give those a try - it's bound to make some improvement.

I still love them. They do feel a bit dated in their style and the characters do work down to a level kids can understand, but the show's direction has a lot of maturity that I can still relate to.

Plot devices are always built around the concept of freedom for all sentient beings and about using force to take resources and property from others. But at the same time it keeps it played out in a simple good vs evil way that kids can still follow. I didn't need to know at age 5 what "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings" meant to know that Megatron was bad.

The other thing that the show does, as well as GI Joe (which I am also slowly buying on DVD), is use continuity throughout the season. An episode can stand on its own, but they are each a part of a much larger story. In fact, GI Joe season 1 DVDs allow you to watch story arcs without opening and closing credits between episodes, basically allowing you to watch a season as collection of two or three movies. You can also now buy the entire Transformers G1: Season 1's "More Than Meets the Eye" story arc as one combined DVD as well as GI Joe: Season 1's "The M.A.S.S. Device" story. Granted, those are money grabs, since they are $20 and the boxed season sets are $25-$30, but it shows how well the ongoing story stands as a feature-length tale.

And of course, everything that was done in G1 is light years better quality than the...stuff Michael Bay has put out under the Transformers title.

Side note: Anyone that is a fan of G1 Transformers, I highly suggest you look into the upcoming game Transformers: War for Cybertron.

I didn't even notice that it's not the same model number. That'll teach me to trust a Google search result. :dunce:

Good to know. 👍 My other floor jack is from a Chevy dealership in the '30s and it will lift one end of a deuce-and-a-half, but it's heavy and I usually have to jam it under the chins of most of my cars. Plus it is entirely un-portable.

Got the same one as well. We've had it for almost a years now without any problems, but it really isnt jacking up that much weight. For the price, you cant beat it.

Yeah, its really light and doesn't take much effort to lift a car. That front roller is nicer than having four casters.

Our last jack is heavier, smaller, and starting to have some issues. And unfortunately we just have a gravel driveway so we usually slide a sheet of stainless steel under the car and use the jack on that.

That'll be my last purchase for a long while now, time to start saving for a car :D

Should be arriving in two or three days' time :)

Got this a couple of days ago;
it's a book, I know... :)
(a great one, so far!)

A book? I've heard of them before but I thought they were extinct :D

Good to see you're keeping it old skool

Bought LFS S2 the other day. ;)
I bought S2 about a month ago - the XRR, FZR and F08 are nearly impossible to drive with even a gamepad, which is a shame as they're good cars :(

That's why I use the FXR if I'm in the mood for some hotlapping - being 4WD and whatnot you can throw it around and it won't bite your head off. Much.
