This will make a nice Christmas present for my parents. I'm tired of going to their house and watching really crappy TV. It's low end of the HD line but its not like my parents are exactly tech minded.

They are going to love it. 👍

That's a brilliant gift for them.

Cool, a Mustang in a party frock (which is a Falcon in a party frock anyhow) ;)

I likes the Cougar 👍 👍 👍

Cool. I like them too. Which is why I kept all of the ones I won in GT4 (and they can go indecently fast)...

... and, uh, it's why I bought this one. :) (Click for largeness.)

He's got a couple of dinks and dents, and a bit of a Bubba exhaust...

... but a dynoed 360 rear-wheel horsepower (say, 425 to 450hp at the flywheel?) and his belly being solid as a rock meant he was mine.

And you'll note I've said he, and not it. I couldn't help it. He gained a name by accident.
Cuddles the Cougar
I think it suits him. What else do you call a cat that vibrates the floor when he purrs? :D

@ G.T. Just lucky I guess. :D

If they have digital signal that is. Otherwise it will look even crappier I guess.

I did have to let my mom in on the gift because my dad has been talking about TV's. I needed her to make sure that he doesn't go out and buy one on his own.

They currently have DishNetwork and she knows that she needs to upgrade their service.

The lights on the cougar are absolutely beautiful as well. My grandfather used to own one and according to my father there are six bulbs in each light, and when you put the blinker on they light up in sequence. It's wicked awesome :D

I would have named it a girls name, but hey, it sounds good anyway

This for $319

It will probably be a while before they get here.
Good choices!

Make sure you update the system software for both. The PS3 will alert you to an update when ever you go online, but the TomTom you have to check yourself. The recent TomTom update added some nice new features as well. 👍

BTW: When you get the chance, post your thoughts on using your new TomTom in the following thread:

Were you at the San Jose one because that sounds exactly like our experience last night/this morning. It was really cold too it was about 40F constantly since 1AM.

This is what I got out of waiting so long and i'm glad we got one. I was originally wanting a 20" LG and they saw this 22 on sale for Black Friday and it's awesome. Looks so much better than the RCA 20" I had both size and resolution.
normally $600!? wow...

I take it's not 1080p?
Actually, you can get 1080p displays for $600, in fact the 28" 1080p LCD HG-281DPB from Hanns•G regularly sells for $600. Buy.com had a sale on them for only $500 a couple weeks ago, and NewEgg is currently selling them for only $560. For those interested, BenchmarkReviews did an in-depth review on this monitor as well.

Speaking of this monitor....

Hanns•G HG-281DPB Black 28" 3ms Widescreen LCD HDMI Monitor 500 cd/m2 800:1 Built in Speakers

With VGA and HDMI, I have my computer and PS3 hooked up. I'll be getting a HDMI switch soon to make switching between the PC and the PS3 easier. At a full resolution of 1920x1200, this monitor looks fantastic. The only major complaint the is the LCD "X" that can be seen during darker sections of game play. This shouldn't surprise me as every LCD monitor I've owned seem to have this.

As a precursor to the monitor, I built a new gaming rig:

*Intel E6850 Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHZ 4mb Cache, 1333FSB
*2gb OCZ Reaper Ram, @1106ghz stable.
*150gb Raptor Drive
*eVGA 680i Mobo (supports 3 PCI-E 16x graphics cars :embarrassed:), 1333FSB supported.
*Dual BFG OC 8800GTX 768mb Graphics cards in SLI
*1000w OZ PSU, support for up to 72 amps of delivered power!!!
*Vista Ultimate (DirectX 10 fully supported)

very nice rig! 👍

very nice rig! 👍

Thanks! If the basement gets a little chilly, I just turn this puppy on and the family can stay nice and warm. With natural gas prices on the rise and electricity becoming more cost effective, I leave this gaming rig on all the time, and just turn my thermostat down. :)

I've heard PS3's and 360's are useful space heaters as well. :D

OK, so here are some new additions to the Digital-Nitrate Family:

Polaroid TLA-04641C 46" 1080p LCD TV

Details HERE, but in short, I needed a new HD and 46" 1080p LCD for only $1,000 was all the motivation I needed. 👍

Level One WBR-5400 MIMO Wireless Broadband Router

It was time to retire my old Dell TrueMobile router, and found this on sale at Buy.com for only $20 (normally $65) seemed like as good a time as ever to replace it.

Western Digital WDG1SU3200 320 GB My Book Premium ES Edition Dual Interface HD (USB 2.0 & eSATA 3 Gb/s)

You can never have enough HDs, and at just $60, this was too good to pass up, especially for dual interface with eSATA! 👍👍

Yamaha YPT-310 Digital Keyboard

This is for the kids, as they have really taken to playing the piano, which is great, but the grand can be soooo loud, and they aren't any where near Mozart levels... so papa needed to find an alternative way for them to play piano. Besides, the nice thing about digital keyboards is they can experiment with different sounds, record and play back their music through the computer, and it also has some pretty nice teaching software included.

It will also save me a bunch of money not having to have the grand tuned every couple months from their "playing". :)

It may not seem like much but my computer didn't have 2.0 USB ports. Now I can transfer files at 4x the speed and it recognized my 500gb that I waited so long for. Today was a good day :D

D-N will you adopt me? Seriously, your kids probably have the times of their lives at your house.

I think my dad is thinking of buying a new TV as our HD rear projector is about 5 years old and I kinda want to play the PS3 in 1080p.

So the Polaroid TVs are surprisingly good? Excellent :D. I've had my eye on the 26 inch version of that for quite a while - I just assumed a decent HDTV for £250 was too much to ask. Are the standard def pictures really ok? That's my main concern really, as I don't have an HD input right now.

Also, Yamaha 👍

The smile on your son's face says it all! :D Do they know about the keyboard or is it a Christmas gift?

Sorry about bad pic, cheap phone doesn't have auto-focus
