Finally got round to getting a HD LCD TV! To be quite honest, I'm amazed at what I've been missing out on. It's brilliant!

iPad official case
iPad/iPod/iPhone extended charging cable
Couple of apps
Couple of DVDs
Some foot things

Got my iPhone and 3 suits at Jos.A. Bank. Buy one get two free, so I got grey, blue, and taupe for like 100 each plus tailoring. Needed one for a wedding in October.

I've bought a poop-load in the last week. I don't want to list it all here. I spent a good $2000

ok fine, I've nothing better to do, so the bragging begins now:

Sweet anime pickups.
My latest purchase... Not going to hunt down a picture but I'm sure everyone knows about this new iphone, I just got one of those.
Now I'm headed off to find out what the big deal was with the problem (still don't know the first thing about it).

the other speaker deal fell through, so I got these instead:

receiver is 7.1. Im only going stereo for now. I'm in no hurry for surround sound, as my living room isn't set up well for it... Need a place to hide the cables... I'm fine with stereo as long as it sounds excellent

Ok, well good part is you future proofed yourself for 7.1 with that amp, at any point in time you can now add more to the setup and not have to buy a new amp and so on.

Picked up a new knife at MDS today, its the one on the right. Never purchased a Dau before, willing to give this one a shot. I dunno... Its not weighted that well, the blade is too lightweight compared to the handle, I'm not that happy with it right now. But I hope I will warm to it, the blade by itself is wonderful. The one on the left is one of my older Muelas for comparison

Disclaimer: All of my knives are for camping purposes and are completely legal. I'm just a bit of a bush pig.

CRIKEY where do you live? In the uk if they saw anyone with any of them even in a holster armed police would be called.

In Australialand mate. There not for use in public, like I said, I am law abiding, however I do carry a knife in public, but a much smaller one, folding but not mechanically operated (its not a flick in other words). It is less than 3 inches long and is in a marked pouch that is not concealed. Those little babies are for when I go camping (plus side of most of me mates living out in the country is that we get huge stations to go to for holidays). They are my two main knives now, also have some smaller knives (for work purposes), a small machete (available over the counter to people over 16, was hard to get home on a bike though) and a hatchet (only a little one, for chopping down trees). Don't worry, we're not all Crocodile Dundee, we don't carry them down to the shops for some groceries :D

In his PC

Yes yes, very well done, I don't think we need to devolve to requesting timestamps though ;)

Wipe_out_hd.png

Wipeout HD + Fury off PSN. Price was a bit steep for my liking (NZ$49.95), but it's Wipeout. In 1080p. Awesome + awesome = a bajillion times awesomer

I also considered getting the Burnout Paradise Complete Collection off the PS Store too, but I already have it on PC (well, I have Ultimate Box on PC; Criterion didn't release Big Surf Island on PC, and I don't have the toy/boost special cars)

I've played the demo like 5 times just because I enjoy the graphics that much. I'll also pick up Fallout 3 in a few days with all 5 add-on packs đź‘Ť

More game purchases (yes, I have a serious problem):
http://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/PC-Games/Mass-Effect-2/3157439/ Mass Effect 2 (PC) for $40, as opposed to the usual $100
https://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/PS3/Final-Fantasy-XIII/1564374/ Final Fantasy 13 (PS3) for $50, instead of $130

I also bit the bullet and bought the Burnout Paradise Complete Edition off PSN for NZ$54.90 last night; between Wipeout HD + Fury, Burnout Paradise, Mass Effect 2 and FF13 I shouldn't need any more games until GT5 comes out

I was also looking at Mass Effect after you said I should check it out. It does look like a fantastic game indeed! Haven't made up my mind yet. Currently Crysis has got a hold of me, and if I look how much trouble people have with getting decent framerates out of the game with better systems than me, I've got to give some serious thumbs up to ASUS for this kind of a little powerhouse.

I think if you can run Crysis on higher detail settings without any problems then you should be able to run pretty much everything else perfectly fine  And do get Mass Effect. You neeeeeeeeed that game. :D

Indeed. You have no idea what my first reactions were when I switched from a Dell that ran the first CoD with a max of 30 FPS on lowest settings to a machine that runs Crysis on high at 30 FPS

Seriously though, it took this long before I finally knew how good HD screens are. At first I didn't get the point, but when watching a good movie or playing such a nice game... God almighty

Well, the only issue is that I tend to only keep playing games I really really like. Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater for the PS2 is such an example. I always adored the first level, but for some reason I have actually never finished the entire game. I only want to buy it when I'm absolutely sure I'll get hooked on it so that it doesn't rot away on the shelves.

It also doesn't help that none of the game producers lately tend to release demos :(

What? Bram, you still havenÂ’t picked up Fallout 3 yet? Forget the other games and go get it already. As you seem to be into RPG's I can also recommend Dragon Age: Origins. I picked this little gem up a few weeks ago and it has a hold on me now.

For a legacy rig that I am putting together (AKA: How much power can I put into Windows 98 SE before it just explodes on startup (excluding the RAM issues).

Got the most powerful graphics card that you can get for AGP and see if Windows 98 can run it. I'd would love to see Windows 98 running off of a ATI HD card.
