£1700 for fully comp is, relatively speaking, pretty good. Hell I paid £1450 for my first year on a 9 year old Almera and that was 3rd party fire and theft.

Cheers TB!, i'm a bit annoyed it's not in GT5.

Yeah you're right, I guess i'm lucky, it would have cost me £800 more to insure if I was still 17.

Before I considered anything 'new' I did look at Almera's and they were one of the cars that I was being quoted over £2500 for.

Bugger...
So it is worth me waiting till I'm 18 then?
:nervous:
And congrats! Enjoy it!

Nice Tommi 👍 I've driven to Aygo and it's a pretty decent car.

My first vehicle at 18 years old was a crap 1980 250cc motorbike that cost £250 but was £1,200 to insure 3rd party only!

Planning on doing some hold ups TB? :P

I forgot to mention that i've done Pass plus and my parents are named drivers on my insurance, which probably helped a fair bit. But even still, you should get an idea of what car you want/ cheap to run car (like mine) and get quotes for now and when you're 18, that's what we did and it turned out to be significantly cheaper, the only downside was that I had to wait a few months before I could have a car, but it did mean I could save up for longer and actually buy it straight away. :D

Ouch!, insurance can be really stupid at times.

I know, I was really surprised when I took it for a test drive and had a proper look round. It doesn't have many toys or a large engine but it's a great little car which is surprisingly nippy and always puts a smile on my face. :)

Parents will help. Pass plus (as told by an insurance-industry friend) was brought in to try and make insurers more even, made naff-all difference when I was looking at quotes (well, not enough to off-set the cost, even if Brighton council were going to pay for half of it)

£1700 fully comp for an 18 year old isn't bad. Co-op seemed to be pretty good when I was getting quotes earlier this year, could get a 1.6 306 for that. being 22 helps a bit with that Nice car, really need to sort one out for myself...

Balaclava's are awesome! I love mine.

I know a lot of people hate Kanye West but I rather like him and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy is excellent. And this is the alternate album cover, didn't want to show the one I got.

I also bought this:
Kid-Rock-Born-Free-Final-Cover1.jpg

After Kid Rock's performance on the AMA's I figured I'd give his album a try. It's excellent and the song Times Like These is really good. For once Detroit isn't portrayed as a complete crap hole, I mean don't get me wrong 95% of the city is but still it's nice to see someone hasn't give up on us.

Just ordered two samples of rubber mats.

Planning on finding a good choice for my wheelstand to grip into the carpet.

TB isn't going to do hold-ups, he's going to go all ninja on his neighbors.

TB doesn't do hold-ups, but if he did, they'd probably be the best hold-ups in the world.

Though I don't think you Yanks will get that!

Chris Rock's little speech in Blame Game is both depressing and hilarious at the same time. I wouldn't put it above his first two albums, but it's a great album.

Oh and I bought some racing game, it's not bad.

"Yeezy taught me"

Ya it's not as good as his first two bit it's better then 808's I think. It's very Kanye though and that's what I like. He's an awful rapper but his beats and originality make up for that.

My first car...

It's a Citroen C1 for those who don't know. I actually bought it and took this photo yesterday, by the time I got home it was too dark to take any decent pictures. :P

And a years insurance.

I've got an Aygo for my first car. 2007 in black. Good chassis, you'll like it 👍

Something i (and together with a few of my friends here) have been waiting for a few years now:

Looking forward to undressing it tonight and unseal it :P

I just bought a Microfiber couch that has built in dual reclining seats, center console fold up lights, fold down cup holders, built in cooler, lower storage, and has a built in back massage for each recliner! Lifetime warranty and stain resistant all for $1,000. :)

My Logitech wheel showed up and had to download GTHD just to play with it. I wasn't very happy with it. I want to send it back. I went 4-5 seconds per lap slower with it over the regular DS3 controler! Defeats the purpose of having the damn thing! But, GTHD course is a twisty PITA that is difficult on this wheel.

The gas and brake are paddle shifters connected to the wheel and turning fast sharp turns while on the gas is next to impossible. Plus, the whole damn unit shakes because of the 'force feedback' and causes me to pick up the unti off my lap to reposition it time and time again. This slows me down the most, I think.

I'll wait for GT5 to arrive and getting use to the thing before passing final judgment. But, so far, I don't want the thing. I just hope is the sharp impossible turns of this one course that's causing the trouble and hope the regular courses in GT5 wont cause that much trouble for me. Plus, I hope the car physics are easier in GT5 compared to GTHD. I doubt it, though.
