Beardyman FTW :D

Beardyman is so so good, saw him live at Digital in Brighton, superb. Also at the bottom there, strawberry jam stage, Charlie and the Martyrs, saw them when they supported Paul Heaton down here in Brighton, really awesome band, bought the CD immediately that day.

You've never seen a completely modular PSU before? They've been around since '06 or '07, I think. :P

Think the first company that dabbled in entirely modular design was XClio. They're not very reliable...but still.

I've only just recently got into the hardware realm of PC's. I got an internship with a small computer store recently, so I'm starting to look at all sorts of hardware. I still only see cable monster PSU's right now.

Needless to say.. I didn't get picked to intern because of my hardware knowledge. Lool.

Ah, congrats.

For the most part completely modular (read: reliable) PSUs are still fairly new. At one point it was a combination of hard-wired and modular design throughout '08 and '09, of course there completely modular designs out there then but they were either not worth looking at, or too expensive to be reasonable.

They look pretty cool. Getting rid of cables you don't need seems really neat to me. I've already installed a few PSU's and it makes no sense to have cables that you don't need in your case.

I hope they continue the modular development of PSU's, along with more standardized connections on motherboards. The power switches on some boards make no sense and I just give up at that point. Especially with the lack of documentation it just becomes too much of a hassle to figure out what goes where.

Got this for my Uncle so he does not need to pay a rental fee on a crappy modem. He can only get 3mbps(He uses Frontier) since he lives in the Adirondacks(mountainous area, which means my cell phone can't get connection even 30 miles away from his home). The current modem makes it not as good than what's supposed to get. I've only seen 150KBps and he's suppose to get up to 375KBps. The router part of the modem is just to keep his daughter to stop asking for WiFi for her iTouch.

XCLIO use/d fortron or sparkle innards in some of their higher end psus. As good as it gets.

bevo
And this mouse except mine is that RAT 7 instead of 5.

The mouse feels great, but I'm really not sure about the gaming pad yet. If that little joystick works pretty decent it should be just what I was looking for.
err you bought a space ship by accident

I never knew that. Huh, interesting.

EDIT: Nice to see so many people buying up the R.A.T's. Remember, for anyone who plays an FPS stay away from the 9...it just isn't worth it.

Most 'Modular' PSU's have a few cables built in. Generally, the 24Pin ATX, 4/8 Pin CPU and maybe two PCI-E cables, as it's pretty hard to go without those.

However the advantage of a full modular is you can get rid of those if you need be (You may not need a PCI-E in a Small Form Factor PC), it also makes it easier if you want to buy cables of different length, get re-sleaved cables, or upgrade in the future if a different standard comes out.

Corsair, Seasonic, Antec and Silverstone are a few good names in PC power supplies.
I've got a kilowatt HX-series from Corsair myself.

It was about 2 weeks ago now, but...

I'm in love. I think I posted this in the premium forum when it happened but I forgot about this thread.

And a 5-day ticket pass to here. Priceline is offering 2 days free when you buy a multi-day deal, so I really only bought 3 days.

Pretty positive I'll end up with a ticket to Universal as well.

And a bunch of Ford parts ranging from a $60 piece of plastic to $.45 plastic to fix my aero shield that exploded in a car park.

I went there in 07 and for the first half hour my mouth was gaping open speechless. I probably sound really dumb but it's incredible. There was a mini castle studded with diamonds, the price? 36000

My family and I were in Disneyworld in December and my wife desperately wants to go back but it'll likely be a while before that happens. Have a great time, Rick!

I love Disneyworld! It doesn't matter what age you are, when you're there you feel like you're seven!

The Lights, Motor, Action Stunt Show at Disney Studios is a must!!!

Awesome. I'm heading back out there in a couple of months. Make sure you do Universal too. Islands of Adventure is a brilliant park, I could literally spend all day there just wandering round.

I miss that place! Only got to see the Wide World of Sports complex and Downtown Disney as I was quite busy the rest of the time, but would really like to go back some day and see everything else.

Where are you staying while you're there?
