Team Lotus and the F1 writer/blogger from the Daily Mail held a fan Q&A with Jarno and Heikki earlier this season during the Canadian GP. The person they chose to have submitted the best question was rewarded with this, the rear wing endplate from Heikki's 2010 European GP car. F1 fans will probably know that this was the race where Mark Webber ran into Heikki and went flipping. This endplate is the one Webber hit, which broke it off of the mounting points and sent it flying. It's signed by Heikki and Jarno, along with this year's Team Lotus 3rd driver Karun Chandhok.

It's the full endplate. It's almost 26 inches/66 centimeters at the widest part, and a little bit over 26 inches/66cm tall. I could probably get exact specs if I had the right tape measure and wasn't worried about scratching it up. I weighed it out of curiosity and it came in at a shade under 1200 grams, that's with the damage. I'd peg a full new endplate to be under 1400, which I find pretty darn impressive. I plan on taking pictures of all the details and the damaged bits, I could post them up in a thread on here if people are interested in seeing them.

My humble Astra took the full brunt of some woman's last minute, 'lets not look where I'm going' lane change. I've got a 5dr 2.0 focus as well, the fiancee likes it and is comfortable in them, so we went for another! It's like a small fleet of focuses outside my house!
Glad to see another Focus owner. I have the American version, with the longer bumpers.
And I swapped an SVT (ST170) engine in mine
Cool, that rear bumper looks odd, never seen that on European models. Nice engine!

I bought these a few days ago, not the same brands but similar sized units. I bought them because I'm a lazy git (rather sit on the sofa away from my media housing) and I can't stop spending money on tech because I'm so jealous of Tony Stark. I'm still working on a Jarvis system but need the X10 home automation units now that I have the voice recognition set up.

That rear bumper only came on the North American SVT's and those with the Sport Appearance Package from 06-07. Dang bumper regulations. European bumpers are a popular modification our side of the pond.

Nope, I've kind of passed through the whole car scene. I like cars and all, but I never feel the need to do anything to mine, thus never felt the need to join a community. Maybe someday when I'm 9 again.
The engines are quite torquey (how the hell do you spell that?) so I could totally see some potential in them.

I heard of people who steal car stereos and people that steal cars, but a person who steals just the antenna, that's definitely got to be a first.

I bought it when I was at the Honda Indy Toronto. There was one guy who had a whole stall of F1 merch. It was all legit too. I paid $50 cad, which might seem a bit steep, but my girlfriend bought me the Vettel Beanie for my birthday and it cost her $44 cad plus about $40 for shipping.
If I'd have known that, I would have told her not to bother. F1 store is a bit of a joke. Especially if you live outside of Europe.
