another Christmas present from my mum. Didn't arrive before Christmas

Titanic, the experience. Reading it it seems to be targeted to younger readers but the attention to detail is amazing.

This is only a small amount of the items with it, a must for anyone interested in titanic and only £20 on amazon.

This stuff just came in the mail:

Kotobukiya 1/100 scale Metal Gear Rex model kit and a set of Good Smile Company Nendoroid Petit Tales Of Series figures.
Also got some stuff on order for my R/C truck. Will post pics of that stuff when it arrives.

That model is awesome. Where did you get it? The Metal Gear Rex one?

Not to be a complete arse, but can you not buy a Windows laptop for less money that does the same job as the Macbook does, but better?

And isn't it possible to put OSX on a Windows computer? Or am I stupid..

Yes... but it's erm... frowned upon. Legally that is. Coincidentally my PC is perfectly specced for OSX.

Other than that, I can play games on bootcamp on the rMBP while still using iMac for surfing the Internet/assignment.

Huge waste of money. Buy an Airport Express, plug your ethernet into that, build a PC for games and work/browse on the rMBP.

Wait, there is a law preventing you from installing software you legally own on a Windows-based PC that you legally own?

Well, according to the Apple EULA for the OSX license they forbid you doing it. Even trying it virtually(vmware, virtualbox, and etc...) on a windows computer is frowned upon by Apple.

So Apple won't let you run there OS on anything other then a Apple device where as Windows let's you've bought it..

So is that why everything Apple is so expensive? MacBooks would be a lot cheaper if Apple were making millions on OSX alone..

OSX is making more money for them by adding incentive to purchase hardware.

They wouldn't move nearly as much hardware if OSX was a standalone thing, and PC manufacturers would get the people who move from Apple hardware.

They would still move hardware, but I have to assume Apple made the choice they made because its the one that gets them the most money. And Microsoft doesn't do much in the way of hardware, they make just about all of their money on the OS itself when PC manufacturers buy it and people get newer versions. At least in terms of home computer related things.

Bought 2 of these last night $50.00 each. Saved myself $50.00 from buying them last January at $75.00 each when I bought my new Sony Bravia tv. Now I can finally watch all the 3d movies and games I have been buying for the last year. :)

Just got a 17" MacBook Pro from 2007, which I am writing from, for $500.

Sounds about right. My 2007 15" MBP would be worth about $400 if it was still alive.

Wait, there is a law preventing you from installing software you legally own on a Windows-based PC that you legally own?

Well, it's not a law, it's just that OS X, like all virtually other software, Windows included is technically licensed to the end user. By buying the software, you are (usually) granted a perpetual license to use that software within the terms of the license as dictated by the End User Licensing Agreement (EULA), or as known as the long boring text that no one reads.

But damn it, why won't it read?!?

That's part of it, but it's also that Apple likes to tightly integrate software and hardware together. By doing so, and only having to code for certain, known combinations of hardware, OS X can be lighter weight, more optimized, and just simply be more reliable given the specific sets of hardware. Windows allows you to have literally millions of combinations of computer hardware, but obviously, Microsoft can't possibly code for every single specific combination of this, thus software end up being less optimized, though ran on more computers and any unanticipated third party hardware can possibly crash the system.

It's part of the whole "closed" vs. "open" debate.

New plugs were needed anyway and they're matching my phone and new tablet. Card was needed since I bought the 8GB version of the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. I never thought stuff would eat up space so quick.

With the holidays I have been on a rampage when I was going to buy "some" 1:18 model cars:

1:18 Spark T.W.R Joest Racing Porsche (1997 24hr Le Mans winner)

Will post my own images of the models once I receive them in the Scale model thread. I would have preferred the '98 Le Mans #26 Porsche winner over the 2nd place #25, but the winning car goes for as much as $80 on Ebay. And for a Maisto made model, that really isn't worth it. The #25 is going for £10-15. Also need to get the Audi R8R, but again made by Maisto and some idiots wanting $70-80 for it.

I also almost got my hands on a 1:18 AutoART 1998 Toyota TS020 GT-One, but I lost out on the bidding with mere seconds to go :(

Sonic Crew's mid wing for the Focus. They had a group buy going on so I thought I'd jump in. It was only $100 and I think looks pretty cool. I'll be getting a hatch spoiler as well at some point when that group buy starts so I'll probably just wait to get both painted at the same time.

So that didn't take long. I contacted the guy who had so the ST wing group buy and turns out he had one someone didn't pay for. $200 later it'll be shipped my way within a weeks time.

It's a reproduction, but Ford wants nearly $1,200 for an ST wing, which is just ludicrous.

Looks just as good for a fraction of the price.

Fiberglass I presume?

Currently in the process of buying this to go with my 1985 model. It's in much worse shape than this though. $200, comes with the original 200X engine, and a 200S engine. Most plastics are gone, doesn't run (carb needs to be rejetted). Got brakes, new wiring harness, spark plug, carb recently rebuilt, engine honed and rebuilt to factory specs, needs a chain and front tire, and rear axle bearings but I will be a nice project for me and when it's all done I'll have a 1984 and a 1985, just like before (expect the one before was a 1986 and a 6-speed).

Yup fiberglass, which makes me wonder what in the world the Ford spoiler is made out of to make it $1,000 more expensive. It's probably made at the same factory in China too .

Probably becuase they license it as an official product or something stupid. They sell their clothing for $30 more than what I can get it at the store somewhere else. I would know lol.

When we used to by parts from the dealer we would get reproductions of parts that hadn't been produced in 30 years and they were a bit expensive but we got the price knocked down from knowing people. They were pretty good about reproducing old parts as well.

My first purchase of 2013:
