All the Warner's Bros. stuff in the App Store is $0.99 so I just bought Lego Harry Potter years 1-4 and 5-7 and Batman: Arkham Asylum. If memory serves, they were running at least $5 each. 👍

I've been after some off camera lighting for a while now so I got a 430EX II, a cheap plastic diffuser head cover and some Cactus V5 triggers.

While I was on the camera theme I finally, finally got round to purchasing a rocket blower.

Also a 1TB WD Elements because I need storage for RAW files.

Sith Fury-class Interceptor from Lego's new Old Republic model series. I got about halfway through it while watching the Rose Bowl and I'll probably finish it up tomorrow. Pretty cool set, I just need to find the other ship that goes with it now.

Having walked around in those on New Year's Eve, they reduced my feet to a bloody pulp after an hour. So naturally I had to swap them for something better suited to my feet.

Same size as the previous pair but infinitely more comfortable. Almost half the price and better looking I reckon.

Their firetrap. They look suede too.

Yep. Firetrap Monroe Lows (leather and suede). They're actually supposed to be light brown in that image rather than a darker shade.

I already have a pair of Firetrap boots I bought a couple of years ago. Both look and feel great.

You paid $500 for a computer that's 6 years old? That seems a bit much since they were what? $1,200 new.

I did. It is a bit pricey because it's a Mac. You pay for the quality of the insides and outsides and the Apple stigma (unfortunately ) But it is very comfortably running Mountain Lion at half a decade.

Depending on the model that could be a pretty good deal.

They run up to $2,800 for the top end one. Which...for what you get is...I mean by then you might as well just burn your wallet.

That's why you get a model that's a couple of years old. I was looking for a newer model than the one I have but all things considered this machine fits my needs alright as well.

I love Mac computers but I would rather pay $750 for a 2 year old one than $1750 for a new one.

Just checked, you can crank it to $3,749 if you have no concept of money.

Which, to be fair, does make it an absolute monster, but is still $1,749 more than you would pay for a comparable PC. With more memory and a better graphics card. And Bluray.

I've never seen the appeal to mac computers. I have an IPhone and a IPad, but I wouldn't give my desktop up for anything.

This may surprise some of you, but Macs aren't actually priced that much more than other premium computers. It's just that everyone is used to having £500 PC World plastic wonders with horrible trackpads and keyboards. IIRC it's only the Mac Pro that's overpriced for what it is, but that's been overdue a refresh for years now.

Careful, that's classified as a lethal weapon in over 37 countries.

Also, at Hot Topic because I was at the mall:

And an Aperture Science bumper sticker for my Blazer.

The MacBookPro has tons of top of the line tech in it. Problem is they're charging double the price of my Asus for something with a slightly better display and, again, less memory.

It's not that it's due for an update, it's that it's just way more expensive than it should be. For the same specs as my laptop I can see it being a bit pricier given that Macs have always been known for how simple they are to use and the fact they work with virtually no fuss, but that's ridiculous.

STOP THE PRESSES

Apple computers cost more than equivalent spec PC's

YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST PEOPLE.

It's not the fact they cost more that gets me. It's how much more they actually cost.

EDIT: Sorry for off topic. I'll drop it now.
