Bought myself an early birthday present after wanting a leather jacket for years:

*snip*

A Schott Perfecto (very lightly used at a good price since retail is insane over here). Mine's a 125 (the one above is a 118) which doesn't have a belt, but has a removable faux fur liner and has lace cinches in the back. Easily the best made item of clothing in my wardrobe and it feels amazing to wear! Sized down for a slimmer fit and the sleeves/waist hit in all the right areas.

Nice. I've wanted a Perfecto, or at least something styled like it, for a long time, but as you said, prices tend to be a little nuts.

Curse you, PSN sale. $12 well spent, I think.

Then I'm glad I moved away from Samsung :embarrassed: not that I wouldn't have even without all those explosions, I've always had bad experiences with Galaxy phones (low-end ones, true, but still they sucked bigtime).

I don't have experience with Samsung smartphones, personally. The S7 & Edge issues don't seem to be as common (so far) as the Note problems, as far as I know Samsung hasn't issued a recall or stop-sale like they did with the Note.

I needed more bass, so I bought this. Then I gave Creative Gigaworks T40 Series II, which I used to own, to my friend.

Got mine two weeks ago (Platinum Gold). I felt a bit of buyer's remorse, but as I spend more time with this phone, the more I feel it was totally worth the big bucks.

And no; these don't explode. It's only the Note 7 which is no longer on the market.

Good to hear! I've never owned a new flagship before - I'm upgrading from a cheap iPhone 4S I grabbed for $80 bucks awhile ago. Only bought a Nokia 520 brand-new prior, so this is definitely a big leap.

Yeah, prices have always put me off even though I've probably spent more on other (non leather) jackets over the years that haven't quite scratched the same itch as a Perfecto, it just turns a standard T-shirt + jeans + sneakers/boots outfit into something else entirely.

Started with Orwell

Had a really interesting conversation with a woman on the tube a few years ago when she saw me reading that, she suggested I should spend a few nights on the streets (since I'm a guy) to really get a feel of what it's like.

Background: Trying to track down a book I constantly checked out from the library over ten years ago. Timeframe for this was about right, not entirely sure it's the one but whatever I'm only out just over seven bucks total (including shipping).
