Sim tires

Please correct me!!
What is the deal with sim tires? I do not mean to me rude, but when I put any more than a 1st stage turbo on, I use sport tires. Why do all of these people use sims on rear and softs up front? On bone stock cars, sim tires are handy. But when I have a four wheel drive car with over 500 horses I never use sim tires. I might be uneducated but when I drive a FULLY tuned FD3S-RZ, I use medium softs, or even super softs (mood). In the next few weeks I will post a video (or two;) ) to show what I can do. Please don't take this as a smash or "I'm better" thing, because its not.:D

Ehh?? First time I've ever heard about that  :odd: One would think there was more logic in using similar tyres

Well it's common knowledge that us drifters like to put less grippier tires in the rear for better angles in a drift... but a s.soft and sim tire combo would cause almost a complete loss of control in the rear tires during a turn. I personally use Slicks in front and Super Slicks in rear.

Yeah, I do not know why one would do that, but I suppose Takumi could do it. As far as the tires I use, that depends. On the 22b I use, sports and super slicks. I suppose it is a matter of techniques, skills, and taste.

sims lose traction easier. you don't need alot of HP to drift a car. when using sims you have to use proper gas pressure and can't gun it all the time

i was mad at the 323hp RX-7 too, but i kept driving it for hours each day. now i can drift ANY rwd car with ANY tire combination. all because i did it the hard way and learned how drifting actually "feels". if you want to learn quick and easy..use racing tires and a large amount of power. you'll be drifting in a day at most. but if you want your drifting to really progress..the best way is with sim tires.

What the **** is that supposed to mean? I learned in a BONE STOCK silvia! No tricky **** just the car with racing oil in it. don't go around with that attitude dude, its not cool.:irked:

Don't get me wrong, sims are best for that. At that point, I did not know they existed.:)

whoa..i think i need to step down on the content of my posts. people don't understand a word of it :irked: of course you'll get better and better, but you'll never reach the same levels. and where do you buy racing oil?? :odd:

if you have read the discription of the gt maintenence(dont know how to write it) shop ,it will say that the oil that you can buy is racing oil and thats why it gives you some HP

Look buddy, I don't think you understand that what you have said is very insulting. Perhaps you need to word your posts in a way people WILL understand. It is not cool to go around saying that people that cannot feel what their console is doing are not as good as people that halluc.. I mean feel the drifts.

This has been addressed so many times; do a search and you will find out more.

But in short, not many people will drive a car on Sims with more the 400hp most people keep FR cars down around the 300hp range. 4WD cars from 300-500 hp. Over 500 HP and sim tires are not really all that fun anymore.

I don't know anyone that puts softs on the front and sims on the rear, maybe on an FF car. I'm pretty sure that the majority of Sim users, use them on all 4 wheels.

if you are using s/soft front & sim rear u will out of contol ,
( me cause im using d/shock) but if you using steering u can handle it . btw i prefer sim for low hp & slick for higher hp 500++
some times s/soft front & medium rear ...:D :D :D

its Keisuke Takahashi's yellow FD3S ...i believe that is the shot in the very first episode (?) I forget, its been a while since I touched my DVD collection...

As Treuno said, I use sims on all four corners, and I have most my cars at fairly low power. I do have a 500hp Mustang, and a 600hp Mine's R34 on sims, but they're both pretty decent PITA's to drive.
