Did you even read my previous post?

Yes and your assumption is completely incorrect? It's pointless to try to compare wheel base latency watching two random videos online of completely different setups. Just pointless speculation.

You are so completely wrong I can't say how wrong you are. :D

I was referring to this post:

Yep, I know, I forgot to mention it in my previous post because I thought about it quite some time after posting. The SC2 video the driver is using a dedicated 49" gaming monitor as the video with the Fanatec I saw is using, I believe a television. :D
meaning that it is not the DD wheel but probably the difference between the gaming computer and the television that causes the latency between the movement of the wheel and the virtual wheel. The Television's latency is much higher than the latency of a gaming monitor. Meaning that I was wrong to compare the two videos. But you don't seem to get that even though I mentioned it when I said that you probably didn't even read my previous post. Hallelujah, kikie admits he was wrong and andrewhake doesn't see that. :D

Get it now. :P

Simucube Wireless Wheel

That's an ugly wheel. :yuck:
I would have to agree with that. Never liked that particular shape.

I know it's supposed to be a replica of a real wheel, but there are at least three things I would want changed:
1. Cut off the top and make it an open (and more modern) GT3/4 style wheel. (Or, you know... make a replica of such a wheel. The Huracan GT3/Audi R8 LMS GT3 wheel would be an excellent candidate as you would have two wheels in one).
2. Increase the width to 300 mm or at least 290+.
3. MOOAAAR BUTTONS.

Admittedly I haven't tested a wheel with 270 mm size, but my stock T500 wheel is 300 mm and that's the sweet spot for my taste.

I like the replaceable AA-batteries though (or AAA?).

Anyway, for now Fanatec clearly has the upper hand when it comes to wireless wheel rim alternatives.

You can slap on a whatever wheel on both bases as long as you don't need buttons and paddle shifters.
Which is stupid of course.

I was about to ask...can you use an "old" type wheel with USB cable on the SC2 and get full button/paddle functionality?

Makes sense. Wouldn't be smart to cut off a whole ecosystem, especially since there is only one wireless wheel available currently.

It is even possible to connect your G27 wheel with all the buttons on the wheel included if you are able to connect the wires that come from the G27 base to the wheel that is connected to the SC2. Problem is the FFB coming from G27 and the FFB coming from the SC2. :D
Unless you are able to use the G27 base without the G27 driver and still manage to get the buttons and paddle shifters to work.

Can't wait to use my SC2 Pro soon on iracing. I've been using the osw 30nm large mine for about 4-5 months now and holy smokes it sure is amazing. I went from fanatec csl base to this, and the osw is quite something else. I've had contact with a guy who is a distributor of SC2 bases (RaceWerk) as he had a first hand look on the sport version as he has tested the fanatec DD wheels as well osw ect. And was quite blown away. I can link his impression and thoughts if people are interested.

Anyways I'm very excited. They are on a slight delay currently but still on track to get it soon.

I've read a lot of talk of fanatec DD wheels vs this sc2 and as I have not tested both ect I suppose it comes down to your preference but I will say I have already seen some people with issues with the fanatec DD wheels not working. And well there customer service? If you ask me... No thank you.

Only con is the sc2 quick release system is quite dumb. But I'm sure there will be some adapters out there to make it work as I plan to attach my QR1 QR system to it.

Yes I am a bit biased but given my experience. Simucube over fanatec every single day. But still enjoy fanatec rims

Exciting stuff!

Yes the SC2 is shaping to be great from what I have read, the only problem going forward is that Fanatec have now started to encode the newer wheels so people are not able to convert the wheels to USB for OSW use

Theres many great companies who make rims. So I'm not worried personally but I understand why this sucks for some people who enjoy using fanatec rims

Yes please.:)

This sounds very interesting:

Static Force Reduction Filter!

The static force reduction filter was a much requested solution for the most burning problem that most windows simulation titles had in the past. These "games" are usually written and optimized for the mass market where the standard is a low torque probably belt or gear driven motor provides a modest amount of power. The software developers in order to make the cars feel better usually overdo the cornering forces to match and fully use whatever power those systems has.

With a direct drive motor this approach results with a whole lot more torque under normal cornering than comfortable or realistic to use, and you end up with fighting the wheel or turning the power down and loose overall dynamics on the curbs and transitions.

With the new Static Force Reduction Filter you can leave your motor turned up all the way up for maximum dynamics under all conditions, but you can scale down the static forces under cornering in order not to get worn our in a matter of minutes. Having full control over this is a huge step forward and very welcome change.
Didn't you already mention this @Whitestar that you like this feature?

Wireless wheels for SC2 from Ascher Racing:
B16L-SC

The steering wheels will be available to order on Thursday.
Thank you very much @super_gt

You have made my day with this information. My OMP Velocità is mentioned as the wheels that fit with the B16L-SC.

I must say, these products are expensive. Much more expensive than Fanatec's. Is it due to the choice of materials?

Those prices made me happy I'm in the Fanatec ecosystem with the DD1, especially as I'm not buying these "SC2 makes all current DD's feel like garbage" talk. I have a feeling the upcoming Fanatec software will bring features that the SC2 employs and ultimately there won't be a massive difference in performance, especially for those without lots of DD experience. I just feel like it's diminishing returns at this point. Maybe I'm completely off base but I just don't see how it could be so much better than what's available now. I feel like being able to tune the forces of games to match DD systems is the key for improvements going forward.

I'm honestly (and have been for a while) considering just upgrading to a TS-PC Racer or a CSW 2.5. The price of DD including wheel rims is just a bit much at the moment for me. I haven't been racing that much lately either, so I'm not sure if I can justify such a purchase. I would love to see the current tech (SC2, DD1/DD2) make it to "mainstream" but that's probably going to take a couple of years.

Yeah his prices are a bit high but well worth every penny. I bought an OMP wheel with button plate and Q1R quick disconnect for 660.51 € but every thing he uses is very nice, buttons are top notch and the magnetic shifters are the best I have used

Don't worry, you are not the only one who struggles with justifying spending that kind of money for "just and only" playing racing sims.

This hobby is expensive, I spent $4100 USD this month just for gaming
1500 on the PS4 DD
1200 on the valve index
1400 on an RTX 2080 ti

Edit that I didn’t buy the PS4 DD this month it was on 3-18-19, so I’m good in my budget still lol, but add the Fanatec handbrake and the v3 performance kit along with the podium kill switch I did get last week
